Rachel took a deep breath. She'd only been in this place for an hour, having just arrived. Cable had met her out in the alley she'd told him to from the future and now she was on the steps of the X-Mansion. It looked like it did in all the pictures, pre-Apocalypse era. The tall expanse of ivy-covered stones and shinning windows. She'd dreamed of it so many times. But now, she wasn't worried about the building. It was the people in it.
Somewhere in there, her mother and her father were walking around with their daily lives. They'd not even known she existed, it was impossible they would be expecting her. So what would they say? How would they react when they knew they had a daughter and she'd come to help them stop the world from ending?
Rachel bit her lip and took another deep breath, letting it out slowly as she opened the doors to the Front Hall and breathed in the air of the X-Mansion.
The sun gleamed off her red hair, making it seem almost gold. Her skin glowed the same way and her eyes glittered with specks of matching gold in their green depths. She was Rachel Summers, come home.

Scott was back and he needed to work on some stuff again, but not today. He was having a break for now as he wanted to go to the pool. But that didn't work out for him so he put on his sun glasses as he headed to the Front Hall. If he could get away for a bit, and not working on teaching then he would have a wonderful day. But something seemed weird as he heard the door opened.
When he looked to a young girl, her hair gold and her skin glowing, he watched to her. When it was done, he walked slowly downstairs to her as he saw a Jean in her. He didn't say anything as he kept staring. He couldn't believe it, a Jean in her. He didn't had any daughters or sons. Since he never made Jean pregnant. He rubbed his eyes trying if it was a lie but it wasn't.

Rachel sighed and shook the stray hair from her eyes and looked up only to freeze. A red set of sunglasses gawked at her. Scott Summers. Her father. He was there, standing on the steps as he stared dead gaze at her. He probably thought he was dreaming like she was. She looked a striking resemblance of her mother, though she did have her father in her as well.
This was bad, Rachel hadn't worked up what to say or do at all. She just stared back, too stunned to speak.
"I..I...uhm..." She blushed and looked down, trying hard to think. She...what? She was his daughter he'd never had yet? Yeah, right, like that would come out right. Rachel bounced her fists together in front of her lightly, nervously. "I am..um...I'm looking for Scott Summers." Her voice cracked when she said his name.

Scott still looked to her as he was really stunned but he shouldn't do that as he walked closer to her. He looked better to her as it seemed she was also stunned. He gave her a smile, but still didn't know what to say. He couldn't just say, hey do you know Jean, or are you kid from the Phoenix or anything like that. It was rude to do that and so he didn't do that.
He then heard her voice, a soft and calm voice but also cracking. "You don't have to blush Miss."He said as he walked to her now close to her. "You want to meet Scott Summers, then you are talking to him right now."He said as he gave a smile. He grabbed her face with soft hands as he pulled it up. "What do you want Miss....?"He asked as he looked to her.

She looked up into the dark shades, seeing her reflection there. Her scared, shivering reflection. In her eyes, she saw the Phoenix roar with recognition. His hand on her face felt soothing, it felt calm and normal. She had wanted that touch for so many years.
"I'm Rachel, uhm...I want...to see your eyes." Before he could retort, she reached up and pulled off his dark shades, watching the shinning light fade to nothing so she could see his entrancing eyes. "I'm Rachel." She repeated. "And my last name is Summers, after my father." She stared at him, biting her lip with expectation. This was the big moment, what would he do?

Scott looked to Rachel as she still hold her face. She looked into his sunglasses as he then felt weird. Something was going on with this girl and he needed to find that out. He was still stiff as he then felt weird. This girl couldn't be his daughter but he would have to find out.
In a second or rather in a moment, she took his sunglasses off as he couldn't react to it. He thought that she was crazy, but nothing happened. He looked into her eyes as he heard what she said. "You are Rachel Summers... Are you from Alex?"He asked. No it couldn't, he was with Jean as she really looked like Jean. "No wait, you just look like your mother, then you must be my daughter."He said as he opened his arms to give her a hug.

When he asked about someone named Alex, she shook her head. "No, I'm your daughter." He opened his arms for a hug and she pressed herself tightly against him, joyfully reveling in the moment. Her father, her real, living, breathing father. She was hugging him for the first time in her life. She was loved, she was home.
"I have waited for this...dreamed of it...all my life."

"I know you are my daughter, at least when I looked to you."He said as he looked to her again. "You look like your Mom."he said as he gave a smile when he hugged her. He was having a daughter, and he was proud to have one. His little girl. He wasn't going to leave her now, he could have her live and help her with it. "We should soon go to your mom."He said.
He then heard her words. "I have dreamed of a girl, but I didn't think, I would have one."He said. "And I am happy to see you, in my life."He said.

Rachel smiled and hugged him again. "Mom is here? Really? Can we go see her?" She'd get to meet both her parents in the same day. She couldn't have hoped for anything more. Everything that she'd come here for was forgotten. The idea that she had to tell them what was to come, what happens in the future and why she was there...it tore her up.
"I'd love to meet my mother...father." She smiled up at him happily.

Scott looked to her as he saw her smiling. "Yes Mom is here, and if you really want to meet her, I think she can."He said as he looked to her. "She is still busy with teaching, I think but she would soon be off and will meet me at the gardens."He said. "It is a nice place there, so why don't we go to the gardens and wait there for you mom, we can talk a bit and then Jean could come."Scott said as he gave a soft smile.
"We will see her, trust me daughter."He said as he hugged his daughter.

Rachel smiled softly at him again and nodded. "I'd love that. Thank you, Sc- erm...father?" She looked uncertainly at him and waited for his reply. What did someone call their parents when they'd never met them face to face before? She knew them as Cyclops and Phoenix, the great characters in American History...so what were they to her now?

Scott looked at her as he heard what she said. "Then let's go Daughter."He said as he looked around the place. He smiled as he heard what she said. "It is what you want Rachel. Scott or Dad or Father, I don't mind."He said as he opened the doors to the gardens waiting for her to go to the gardens and wait for Jean.

Rachel smiled up at him and gave a laugh. "I guess we'll just have to see, won't we?" She walked through the door and explored the garden for her mother.
