The empty alley had been a suitable choice. The entire one-block radius of it's position was all abandoned factories, buildings and run-down departments stores that had once been a fine stroll for shopping. But this was the back end of the beautiful Big Apple, home to most of the population of homeless and abandoned, just like the buildings. But that was all part of the reason Rachel Summers had planned for this location to be her exact destination of arrival. In her time, one far from this of New York, this place too was abandoned, but for all the wrong reasons.
In her time, one seperate from this universe and settled in its own issues, Rachel Summers had been one of the few mutants alive that understood why the world was as it had been. The Apocalypse. Every human had been turned into a mutant due to Apocalypse's plan. And when those who disagreed with him stood in his way, he'd destroyed them with one thought. Their bodies had dissintigrated into a billion tiny fragments and scattered on the winds.
People, now mutants, a thing which some hated the most, murdered their families for the hatred, then commited suicide. Some, grew fond of their gifts and began using them for their own gain. Crime ranked higher and higher and murder even worse on the scales. Children were abandoned because of crazed parents and no orphanages would take them in. Buildings were burnt to the ground, whole estates destroyed. The world, was in chaos.
And Rachel had used her gifts as the Phoenix, as Marvel Girl, to return to the past and help stop the threat. Or at least, she was going to try.
But here, in this alleyway next to a half-destroyed building, was the place of which she would appear in a matter of ten minutes. Cable, her younger brother in the future, was to meet her. She'd had to cross several time spans to meet him in a state older than herself and tell him to warn his former self to prepare for her arrival, though in that time line, he would have no idea he had a sister. In fact, he was a thirty-some year old man having come from his own time lapse. Here, she was the younger sibling and Rachel looked forward to that and meeting her parents though they had not yet concieved her.

cable stood in the darkness all that could be seen was the glowing light from his eye. He watched as the woman appeared slowly he steeped in to the light " Thought you said five minutes ago." his voices was clam and a bit playful a side he very rarely showed. HE lifted his hand up in it was a bottle of water he threw it at the woman. He was relived to see her he had been worried that she had not made it back safely. She was much younger than he remembered.
In his time she was an older woman who had trained him made him the ultamate champion of the future. She had pushed him like no other. before he had traveled back she had given her a location and a time in which her younger self would appear in this world. Along with some thing that only she had to prove who he was just encase. "its good to see you Ray."

Rachel relaxed and caught the water bottle. He'd called her 'Ray,' the one nickname that could prove him as her brother. She tilted her head with a smile and took a long drink of water. The trip had tired her, it took a lot of energy to preform time travel even with the Phoenix's help. But she'd done it, and now she stood before her little brother whom now was very much her big brother.
"Nate!" She ran and hugged him tightly, reveling in how much older he was than her. "Wow, you're looking great!" Okay, she was overly exuberant, but she couldn't help it. In her time, she'd watched him die in her arms. Rachel would never allow such a thing again. It was hard to see him, after watching the light fade from his eyes, but it was a different Nathan Summers, and that made it easier on her to see. "I'm glad you got the message." She took a look around. "Wow, even as a dump this looks better than what it does back home."

" I go by the name Cable and have done for years." he reveled in the hug it was some thing so simple something he had not done in a long time. " Yeah its a strange time. Your mother is alive i have seen her." he knew it would be a shock the woman had never meet her the two of them never meet one was always alive while the other was dead it was the balance and the two of them never being in the world at the same time.
"its a mess here the x men are a joke they don't even have a team ready so i am going to shake things up force them to build a team and there only one thing i can think of doing that will shake them up enough."

She only laughed when he corrected her in his name. Everytime she'd seen him as an adult, he was all business. But she knew what he was like as a baby in some worlds and in others as a teenager. Rachel knew her little brother, whether or not he was different here.
Rachel froze in the hug and stepped back. "My...my mother is here?" She'd never seen her mother, never knew her. It was almost like she was a figment of her imagination by now. Rachel knew she existed somewhere, but Rachel had never seen her with her own eyes except for pictures in the database on the woman that was the Phoenix. Inside her, she felt the fragment of the Phoenix Force shift, eager to be near the rest of it's completeness. "What about...what about my father? I mean, our father?"

"here is here as well. I think he is a bit of mess. i had to give him a kick and he needs to build the team. I think you may do more good there than with me Ray. Scott is still recovering from the cure problems and with the his death and resurrection. If you ask me he is taking far to long i have had a few run ins with some of them and none of them are what the history books say they are so i going to take some thing from them and force them to be the heroes the world needs them to be."
He held his sister close "i gather we have not managed to stop things yet?" he had a drive the burrned like no one else the enemy he had a hatred for like no one else.

Rachel frowned when he explained Scott and the X-Men's state. "Your ways of doing things is always a little vicious, let me talk to them first. I'll see if I can rally them into shape." She sighed and hugged him close to her, needing to feel him there, alive. "No, we failed." She wasn't going to mention that he had died in the attempt to stop Apocalypse, it wasn't needed. And she didn't want to go through the memory of it again.
She shook her head, "It doesn't matter. We're not going to fail this time. I'm sure of it." Rachel bit back her uncertainty and tried to have optimism in the matter.

"as far as i know he has not woken yet. we have more of a chance here. I don't know if talking will work shadow cat lost here way and so has bobby its a sad affair to see. I have all ready put a team togeather a task force to help me sort this world out. Its going to take a lot to save this world from its self."
His sister was from the future but cable had been transported further in to the future to save him from the cancer that pulsed threw his body. he could feel it hunger for his flesh and organs. he could keep it at bay with his powers and they were growing stronger by the moment.

Rachel bit back her reply at first. "Kate? She's fallen? Is...is she alright?" Maybe Rachel could go back further into the past and save her best friend. If Kitty was dead, this was some alternate reality because the Kate she knew was well and fine...and had recently cut her hair. The times they had shared, it warmed Rachel's heart to know she could see Kitty when she was more happy. Kate had changed so much over the last few years in Rachel's time. She'd grown more stubborn and dangerous. She took more risks than Rachel did and Rachel had the Phoenix to revive her, Kate didn't.

"they have all lost there way with no drive and they are looking for a direction once they have it they will be fine ray." Truth be told he was a warrior he knew his direction in life and it was simple the x men just did not know what they were. " i think you would do better working with the x men, than with my team." he knew that she did not have the guts or the willpower to do what his team needed. she was was strong but she cared for people and did not have the drive to kill unless she had to.

Rachel nodded. "i'l do what I can for them. And don't think so gentle of me, brother, things have gotten harder with my world...I'm willing to do much more now." She frowned with the realization of what that meant now. She'd watched him die...and she'd never tell that she had done that eight times. Trying to go to the past and change the future had not worked eight times in a row. But this had to be different, she went back farther now, maybe it would change things this time.

"Your not soft by any means. we have a problem one i have not spoken to any one but i think strife is here as well." cables evil clone the man who had killed his wife and child he had suspicions that he had slipped back and was here lurking some how. "Don't worry when i find him i will kill him." cables voice was cold and emotionless as he spoke. " We need to stop apocalypse i don't think any one here has a clue what is coming. I think they think the brotherhoods the worse as it gets."

Rachel's eyes widened at the mention of Stryfe. "He's...he's here?" Her thin, red brows shot down in anger. That man, the clone, had caused more trouble for her brother than she liked. The murder of everything that was dear to Cable, everyone but her. It had been devastating. Stryfe would pay.
Ray didn't like the coldness in Cable's eyes, she'd grown to like the way his eyes lit with warmth when she was around. Cable had grown cold and distant in her time, before he'd died. She never liked to see that cold in those eyes though she knew it was impossible to avoid.
"When the time comes for that," She fixed her green gaze on him. "Promise me, you won't take your own life to take out Stryfe." She couldn't watch him die again.

"No i have an ace up for that fight." he had found deadpool and he was saner than he was in his time and his powers were not fading with age. Cable had to admit the man was his closest friend. Some one he would always trust with his back granted wade would probably put a knife in it at first but he do the right thing. "Trust me i know what i am doing" he let her go and took a few steps. "its going to messy ray and i don't think you will like the things i am going to do."

Rachel smirked with a brief laugh. She lifted a small hand to his large forearm and patted him. "Brother, I never like what you wind up doing, but I know it's always for the greater good." She fixed her green gaze on him with a trusting, sincere look. "And I trust you to know what is best."
She sighed and looked out from the alley way, staring over the streets and between the tall skyscrapers, she could see the strong, black gates and stone wall of the X-Mansion so far away, though, this vision was in her mind's eye. Her psyche went out, searching the land for the famed place that was her new home and found it.
Rachel sighed and blinked, recollecting her psyche to herself and staring up at Cable once more. "Brother, the fight ahead is gruesome and dangerous...I hope to see you well on the other side of it." She smiled hopefully. "Now, let us go see the X-Men of this time."
