Jean Grey closed the door quietly behind her. Since the day Scott mysterious disappeared, she had struggled with dealing the fact that he might be dead. For days, she called out to him telepathically and when she received no answers, she tried to face the music--their psychic bond was gone because he might be gone. Putting on a brave face to prove to the students she was the same Jean Grey, the red-head went out of her way to be a role model and to make sure no one thought otherwise. But ultimately in the end, she buried herself with teaching the students and aiding those in need for medical attention. Digging herself deeper into work did not fill the void in her heart.
Being psychically disconnected from Scott couldn’t be far from death. She wondered as she sat down in the well-kept room, if Scott felt this way the time she supposedly died. Since the incident from Alkali Lake, her powers became wild and her behavior seemed disturbing. Even containing herself from using her abilities, Jean did her best to hide her inappropriate behavior since returning from Alcatraz Island. There she remembered everything, from seeing Scott up until the very end. Yet regaining her memories did very little to help her, in fact seem to have the opposite now.
Still she refused Scott died and thinking by herself gave her time to relocate him again. Every chance she got, Jean would signal out her thoughts in hopes she would connect with Scott again. And every time she would tired herself until she realized it ended up with failure. Today was no different as the psychic mentally called out for Scott.

Scott Summers, appeared dead like most people thought, but he wasn't. He was knocked out by The Phoenix and so he lost his wife there. The one he loved so much. He stopped every block from her. If the Phoenix was still alive, he needed to stop the contact and so he did. His mind blocking the thoughts of the Phoenix and the music he always had with Jean. Until today.
Scott woke up from the Lake as his eyes still closed. He didn't want to open them, or else they would hit someone or something. So he grabbed his spare sunglasses in his jacket as he put them on so he could see again. He couldn't remember anything after Jean. Jean, I hope she will be ok Scott thought as he headed away from the lake.
It was then that he felt the connection from Jean again. His wife was still there. He hoped she would be there, and not just a trick again from the Phoenix. He hurried with a car from a nice female, to the Mansion. He stepped out of the car as he opened the gate.
Students looking to him as he didn't give attention to them, he first wanted to speak to his wife, his love, the one he missed so much. He hurried to her room as he knocked on the door. "Jean, are you here?"Scott asked as he waited for a answer.

The sudden knock on the door interrupted Jean’s thoughts. She was considering ignoring it, desperate to have time alone. But considering she was never one to turn away, Jean got up to answer the door, thinking it might be a student or another teacher. But when she heard a familiar voice, for a quick moment the woman thought her mind was playing tricks. Rushing to the door, she lashed the door open, almost ripping the door off the hinges. And the person standing before her was none other than the person she longed to be with. Scott.
At first she only stood in disbelief. It was the only thing she could do, looking at Scott as if he was a ghost. Nothing could have prepared her to see Scott, well and safe. It took most of her self-control not to run into his arms, but reaching out to touch, she had to be sure he was real. And when her hand came in contact with him, tears threatened to fall. Against all odds, he has survived the Phoenix and escaped death. Except Jean knew she shouldn’t be surprised, knowing it was extremely hard to knock Scott Summers out--let alone killing him. As if she knew along somewhere in her mind, he wasn’t dead, Jean wanted to find comfort in Scott’s arm.
"You’re alive." Jean whispered. The words sounded so surreal, but holding onto him proved otherwise. She moved forward, hoping she wouldn’t wake up if it was a dream. "I thought you were--"Jean couldn’t finish her sentence, the thought of what could have happened made her cringe. But now he was here, nothing else seemed to matter. "How did your survive?"

Scott looked to the door as he saw it almost got ripped from its hinges. He then saw Jean, his wife there. She was harmless without a scratch or anything as he looked into her eyes. His sunglasses blocking his view for her to see him, but it was how he was. He couldn't go without it. As he saw the tears running around Jeans face he made them away, as he looked to her. He felt the hand of her in his as he kept it.
"I am alive Jean and I am back for you again."He said with a soft voice. His mind brought him to his memories with Jean. The one he fell in love with, and the one he swore to protect her with everything he could. "I didn't die, my love for you wanted me to keep going."Scott said as he gave a hug. "You never really killed me Jean, I got knocked out by you, far away, I am not really sure what happened after wards since I just woke up from everything."He said.
"But I did miss you."Scott said as he felt her touch. "But are you...?"Scott asked but he didn't complete it. "The one that knocked me out was the Phoenix, and not you Jean."He said as he missed her much. He gave a kiss on her cheek as he looked to her. He never wanted to let her go again.

Jean had to wince at the name of Phoenix. It reminded her that the Phoenix was a part of her and because she wasn’t herself, Jean could remember her encounter with Scott. Like him, she didn’t have a clue where he was sent, but now he was safe--could anything be more perfect. Jean allowed herself to feel the joy of being reunited with Scott and returning his hug, there was a hint of guilt clouding her mind. As if another person was controlling her thoughts, Jean suddenly remembered what happened on Alcatraz Island, a memory she was hoping to forget.
"I missed you too, Scott. Maybe too much." She replied, the fear of telling him the truth what happened a few days ago. "I don’t understand everything, but I know everything is changing." She leaned for Scott’s kiss, but felt undeserving for his affection. For a brief moment in time, she felt pure happiness, but of course it didn’t last. Jean could only stare off in the distance, having difficulty coping with everything all at once.
"I’m sorry, Scott, for everything." She apologized, desperately trying to pull back but having a hard time telling herself no. "I don’t deserve any of this. The Phoenix is still here…" A few days ago on Alcatraz Island, Jean went to seek answers since everyone refuse to tell her what happened. After regaining her memories, the persona of Phoenix came flooding back, but this time awoken after a man told her everything. Phoenix enjoyed the need for dominance, the overwhelming feel of power and she was seduced for more. It went out of control, the Phoenix lust for more affection.
Although most memories were blurry after that incident, Jean knew that this might potentially harm her relationship with Scott. "I betrayed you. For some reason I couldn’t control it, and I kissed another man…" She revealed, hoping it wouldn’t be the end between them.

Scott looked to Jean as it felt perfect to be with her. The only problem was the thing he couldn't remember anything. He was there with Jean, and before this scene happened he was with the Phoenix who almost killed him. His thought run through his head as he then heard the voice from Jean.
"What happened?"He asked as he heard her voice. The voice she used was something that told her, something happened as he looked to her. "What changed Jean?"He asked as he gave her another kiss but when he felt her trying to get away from it he stopped.
"Tell me what happened Jean."He said as he heard everything from her. He looked downstairs as he heard about the kiss. "Jean, I married you and I want to be with you, let's and please forget that man and his kiss, I am here again and if you want to start with a new fresh way, then tell me."He said. "You know I will always be there for you, that is why we married, I stay there until death seperates up."He said as he gave her a hug, hoping she would accept it.

Instead of hearing rejection, Jean listened to Scott’s kind words. He didn’t yell at her nor did he scold her for being unfaithful. In fact, he seemed to forgive her. Without hearing the entire story, he’s found it in his heart to forgive her actions. Quietly, she looked up towards him after looking in a faraway place. For the first time since she met him at Alkali Lake, Jean had the urge to see his eyes. But they both knew it might be another accident waiting to happen, so she had to live with looking into his quartz glasses.
"I needed to find out what happened." She finally answered, having a difficult time reliving it. "There was a man; he told me on Alcatraz Island someone obliterated many people. That person was me, Scott.” True, he was a stranger seeing she never met him before until that fated day. "He gave me the answers I needed, but I couldn’t handle it. I knew what I did to you, to everyone I cared about. To the Professor. I felt like I betrayed everyone and I shut down. I could feel the power of the Phoenix desire freedom, so I allowed it. For a moment I thought I could escape it, that’s why I tried to find comfort in him."
Jean was filled with shame and it didn’t help she kept yearning for destruction. But near Scott, she felt calm and relaxed. "I would forget it if I could. It’s not just him, but everything else. I don’t think I could survive if something were to happen to you again." That was her worse fear of all, not losing control, but waking up one day and finding Scott gone. She accepted his hug, as she burrowed her head into his grasp.

"You always were a girl to find stuff out."He said as he hold her close. He heard everything as he looked to her. "I wasn't there to protect you, you gave your life for me at the Stryker base and now I am back and you to get everything back on track."He said as he heard everything. "Can you trust me in these words, you have done some stuff no one ever thought it would, but you are back again, and I am here to Protect you Jean."he said.
Scott looked to her as he could feel she shamed herself. "You might not forget it for awhile, but I am here for you, and I will always be there for you. I am not going to be gone for a long time, and I will stand next to you, like I said on the Wedding."He said as he hold his ring. He felt her head in his gasp, as he pulled her head up, looking to her eyes. "You never seen me without my glasses, and I wish I could do it, but I can't."He said. "But I can be there for you."He said as he gave a soft kiss on her lips.

Jean thought about everything they done together, everything they get to do now. Before believing he was gone forever, even though in her heart she refused to accept it, Jean imagine things she never got to say to him. Now that he returned, she never wanted to lose the second chance. He meant everything to her.
"I never meant you harm. I did everything I could to save the people I love. To save you." Memories of their wedding flashed in her mind. She looked from his ring to her ring, their symbol to devotion to one another and no one else. Jean never took hers off, not even once. The grief she felt could never match the love they shared. "You’re right, Scott. Thank-you, for reminding me what truly matters. You are here and we have our entire lives to spend together. I’ll be there for you as you are here for me." She returned his gentle kiss, feeling selfish she never wanted this moment to end nor share it with anyone else.
She wiped the tears away, determined to make this occasion a happy one. She cupped his cheek with her hand, musing over the thought of seeing his eyes. "And I bet your eyes are beautiful." She wasn’t ready to give up and with Scott there, it renewed her hope and spirit to continue fighting. “Welcome home, Scott.” Jean smiled, now feeling silly she brought up all her emotional problems. "We should be celebrating. So much has happened since I last saw you. And now that you are here, what is your next move, Mr. Summers?" In her attempts to prove she’s the same Jean, she buried all her doubts and focused on the future.

Scott looked to her as memories went by from his first time with Jean. He was young and couldn't control his powers. He was the first one to work with Jean, and train at Charles Xavier. Charles raised her as his daughter and him as his son, as he couldn't forget that. He has always been there for her, and she was for him and that made the relationship bigger and better.
He heard what she said as he snapped out of his thoughts. "You never did harm me Jean, I was there for you and without you, I would have given up on myself."He said as he looked to her. She was the one for him, and he just arrived her so it was just all better for him. "It is no problem Jean, we married ,and we are there for each other, don't forget that and everything is going to be alright."He said as he gave another smile.
He kissed her again as he smiled looking to her. "I don't know Mrs. Summers, what do you want?"He asked as she leaned to her feeling her touch as he kissed her soft lips again. "You never saw my eyes Jean, and I don't think you will, and can see them again."He said as he sighed a bit of that but this moment was helping him.

Jean looked at her husband, and pecked a kiss on his lips. The moment seemed right and perhaps the future will not be dark as she imagined. This is basically the first day of their life and cliché as it sound, it was almost the beginning of their relationship. Scott and Jean have been away from each other over three months. Things changed greatly and although mutants were in the middle of the war with humans, it was relatively peaceful and who knew when there would be another chance. She wanted to pick up where they left off, continue her relationship with her husband but with a new fresh start.
"I think," Jean began; her green eyes flickered with amusement. “We should go on a date.” She suggested, grinning with hope. Taking his hands in her own, they fit together perfectly. "I was thinking this is our chance to be together, without the interruption of students or some important matter." She was unsure if anyone else knew about Scott’s sudden return, that he was in fact alive. Perhaps the Professor, but Jean wanted to make this moment last as long as she could, to have a private time together with him.
"What if we go someplace just the two of us?" She asked, feeling daring. Normally, she enjoyed work and lately she has been suffocating and nearly drowned in work. But good news seemed to be rare and spending the day with Scott, Jean couldn’t think of anything better.
[ooc: Thank-you so much. To be honest, it surprised me.]

Scott looked to his fiance as he heard what she said. He sighed a bit as he thought this would be a good day. Xavier would have known that he was back again, and in a few seconds maybe a minute, some other students would see him. So it was the best to do it now then never. "You think to go on a date."He said as he looked to her green eyes full of amusement. "I think your idea is wonderful Jean."He said as he looked to her.
"The professor might know that I am here, and I think it is time to have our time now, then to have it never."He said as he hold her close. "So what place were you thinking then?"He asked as he looked to her again. He looked around as he heard a few students walking by, as he tried to say nothing. He was with his wife, and she needed some time.
"I think it is a perfect idea, you can get your mind of stuff right?"He asked as he looked to her. He hold her as he felt her hands. It was so perfect, they fitted each other as he gave a smile. "Why don't we go to a restaurant or movie, what you want."He said as he gave another smile.

For a second, it was like they were teenagers all over again. Dinner and a movie, how sweet is that. Just a few minutes ago, she was calling out for Scott and now they were moving on with a relationship that survived even after all that happened. Without meaning too, Jean answered to Scott’s request telepathically. 'I think that is a lovely idea.' Surprised their psychic bond survived after months without speaking to each other, it felt good to be psychically connected with Scott again.
"What if I try cooking for you?" Jean suggested, this time speaking in verbal words. "While you were away," She began, but winced as her choice for words. It was true he might have been away, but Jean chocked on those words. It was like ripping open a closed wound. They were a reminder that after everything that happened, something like that could always happen again. Jean buried those thoughts and intertwined her fingers with his. "What I mean to say is, I learned how to cook Italian food. I’m sure you’re famished and a private, home cooked meal might sound good."
"I hope to make sure no one will bother us." She commented, willing to break her promise of never using her abilities, if it meant time away with Scott.

Scott heard her in his mind as he gave a smile. It has been a long time before and since Jean talked to him. It was something he missed, as the connection was still there. It has been a long time, almost a month as everthing was the same. Even Jean was the same.
He then heard about the cooking. "Hmm, Italian, how did you know or why did you start to cook Italian?"He asked as he looked to her. "But I think that will sound wonderful, some Italian food and we could still watch the movie."He said. "But if you make Italian food, I will make the dessert."He said as he grinned a bit. He didn't know how to make dessert, but a cookbook could always work.
"It will be nice to be together today, just us two no one bothering us."He said as he gave her a soft kiss on the lips again.

"Well, a student taught me how to cook pasta. And not just how to boil water, mind you. And a movie sounds fantastic." She joked, admitting to herself she might have not always been the best cook. The student, Grace, taught her how to create homemade sauce and how to cook garlic bread. Sure it might be the only exotic meal she could make without having to resort to tv dinners or take out, but she wanted Scott to be impressed how she spent her time.
"Desert? You?" Jean tried to keep a straight face, imagining the leader of the X-men slaving over a stove, trying to make something edible. But it didn’t last as she laughed gently at the picture in her mind. The offer sounded good, in fact, and she was eager to move onto that part. She leaned in for his kiss, marking that she was his and he was hers.
