Abby was for the moment alone in the penthouse, and she had heard her father that he had to take care of something with the company or media. She of course couldn’t leave the tower, all thanks to that stupid private investigator following her into that café where she had met Lorna. She knew deep down that the two of them will become friends once they got to know one another better. She had put on a pair of jeans, a tee shirt, and tennis shoes for her to wear that day. She had planed on working on her projects and experiments in her father’s workshop, but she didn’t quite feel comfortable enough to do so without his supervision. She kept seeing herself tinker with his cars, motorcycles, or his suits, and he had already told her those were off limits.
So instead, she decided to hang around the apartment trying to see if there was anything to do to keep her out of trouble. She of course, pulled up a laptop that was laying around and began to use it. She had stayed out of her father’s security protocols as she remembered him telling her about the cleansing, so instead she did some research on Miss Potts. She still felt the need to apologize to the woman for her showing up at the party. She found out that she was allergic to strawberries, and decided that ‘I’m sorry’ roses would work better. So she ordered a half dozen of them, and had a note attached that would read I’m sorry for upsetting you at the party. But please don’t take it out on my dad. In his defense, he didn’t even know about me until a few days ago as he saved me from a crumbling building…
Abby then had it sent to her home, and crossed her fingers hoping that would work. She then got bored enough to turn on the television, with some help from Jarvis of course so that she doesn’t mess with any of her father’s settings. She then continued to watch whatever shows came on for a good while, before getting bored once more. However, this time she got up, threw on a warm sweater and left the penthouse. She made her way down to the first floor and wondered around. No one had stopped her, now that they knew she was a Stark.
She was close to a hardly used door, when she heard a meow. It sounded like a weak kitten that was cold and hungry, and that it was coming from outside. She looked around, knowing that she was suppose to stay inside the tower, but just couldn’t leave that poor thing by itself. So she opened the door and stepped outside, and quickly found the tailless, black and white kitten. She then snatched it up and went back inside before someone could see her. She quickly made her way back up to the apartment in order to take care of the kitten. ”Jarvis, I’m going to need some kitten food and a dish to feed this little thing…” She instructed the AI when she got in, however she didn’t realize that she wasn’t the only one in the apartment…

Pepper had gone that morning to Stark Industries to attend an important meeting. She was sure that Tony was not going to go, as was natural to him. These two had not seen much, after what had happened at the party, knowing that he had a secret daughter he had not said anything to her although he had known the day before. Besides the fact that Pepper was not feeling lately very well, she just had not had strength and appetite, her eyes were every day more sensitive to light that she forced to wears sunglasses.
Now she was sitting in her office and resting a bit while reading the new ideas of Justin Hammer, completely unworkable and absurd to Expo Stark.
She had a horrible headache, closed the eyes for a moment, touching her neck wound, a wound that she did not remember how had happened. Pepper's thoughts were a man and in that kiss under the mistletoe. A beautiful night, but ended with a hangover and a big gap in the head, she remembered nothing.
She thought of going home early and get into bed before seeing Tony again. But she doubted that he was to the company. Rose from chair and before leaving a boy brought her a beautiful bouquet of red roses. Pepper was surprised. "Oh, thanks. Wait, boy". Pepper took the bag tip five dollars and handed it to the boy who ran away. Pepper smelled the roses, her nose seemed that was more acute. Took the card thinking that those roses would be sending the Tony, but she was wrong, the roses had sent Tony's daughter, Miss Abigail Stark. The words of the girl did that Pepper had wanted to talk with the child. Pepper took the bag and bouquet of roses and left the house of Mr. Stark.
Pepper pulled into the parking space she had in the penthouse of property without leaving Tony and bouquet of roses that she took the elevator to take her to the apartament. Pepper's fingerprints were registered and she could enter and leave the apartment with complete freedom.
When she put her hand on the digital panel opened the door and entered the apartment Pepper incredibly pale and tired. She met Abby accompanied by Jarvis and a small kitten. "It's your new nanny, Abby?. This little kitten?". Smiling ironically asked the girl as she left her suitcase and the beautiful bouquet of roses on an elegant crystal table. Pepper went to the girl quietly and completely fell in love when she saw that little kitten. "Come on Jarvis. Hot milk for the kitten!. It's so cute!". Pepper's face expressed tenderness and sweetness to caress the little kitten's head began to meow. "Abby, I give you permission for you to stay the kitten. And thank you very much for the flowers. I think you and I have to talk, Miss Stark."

Abby looked up when she knew she was no longer alone in the apartment and saw Miss Potts enter the room and set her suitcase and roses on the table made of crystal. She noticed that the woman was pale and incredible tired. She of coursed frowned worried about her. She then automatically snuggled the kitten without realizing that she was worried about her father’s personal assistant. She wondered if she had caused the current health problem in Miss Potts, but she was of course too polite to ask.
"Come on Jarvis. Hot milk for the kitten!. It's so cute!"
She smiled a bit when Miss Potts stroked the kitten’s head and it meowed in return. ”Please Jarvis…” She pleaded with the AI, who at that time finally answered with a right away miss. She then turned to face Miss Potts, unsure what the woman thought of her. She didn’t know as the woman had ran from the party upset, and hasn’t seen her since. Until now. She only hoped that her father’s assistant wasn’t angry with her, but what was said to her next didn’t make her feel better.
"Abby, I give you permission for you to stay the kitten. And thank you very much for the flowers. I think you and I have to talk, Miss Stark."
Abby smiled when Miss Potts gave her permission to keep the kitten, but she knew that she would have to ultimately get it from her father. It was after all his home. When she was thanked for the roses, she blushed and nodded her head in a ‘you’re welcome’ sort of way. Then when she mentioned that they had to talk, she looked up at her in a way that she usually reserves for being caught off guard by the reporters. She of course was a bit worried of this talk. ”I’m sorry, Miss Potts. I didn’t even know he was my dad until just moments before he showed up to keep me from being crushed…” She said as she thought that is what the woman wanted to talk to her about. She wasn’t too good under this kind of pressure. Sure, she can create a piece of machine to solve a complex problem in mere seconds. But when comes to being talked to for something other than that, she wasn’t too good.

Pepper looked at the adorable kitten while stroking him tenderly. She had to sit on the comfortable sofa of the apartment and had really wants to bed and sleep through the night there. Looked at the girl and saw she had the eyes of his father. A smile appeared on Pepper's lips "I think you're not gonna have no problem in staying with the kitten, Miss Stark. Your father has a good heart and I'm sure that if your begs him for a bit, you can keep your kitty. I know your father many years. "
Was keen to talk to the girl who had appeared in the life of Tony Stark and explain to her that he had not had anything to blame for her sudden disappearance of the Christmas party days before the company Stark. Pepper wanted to reassure the girl and talk to her calmly, despite her state of health had worsened but she thought it might be because she would be incubating a cold or flu.
"Abby, you have no blame for what happened the night before. This news was a big surprise for me. Tony did not say anything about that he had a secret daughter, I know that he learned the day before but .. . What it made me more damage is that he did not say anything before the party. I hurt the lack of confidence that he took me years after we meet. But now the most important thing is that you're right and your father, this is your home and place that suits you. Whatever your need please tell me what, ok? ". Pepper rubbed her eyes tight feeling increasingly tired. "If someday you need help with Tony, tell me, ok. I hope that he is a good father". Pepper stroked the girl's face tenderly feeling like her maternal instincts opened.

It seemed that Miss Potts could read her mind, or perhaps she was too much like her father. Abby wondered how the woman knew she was worried about her father telling her no pertaining to keeping the kitten. She watched as Miss Potts then sat down on the couch as if she couldn’t continue to stand on her own. When her father’s personal assistant smiled at her and told her that she didn’t think that she would have much trouble convincing her dad to let her keep the kitten, especially if she begged him. She had already knew that her father was a good man, and had a heart to match. He is Iron Man after all.
"Abby, you have no blame for what happened the night before. This news was a big surprise for me. Tony did not say anything about that he had a secret daughter, I know that he learned the day before but .. . What it made me more damage is that he did not say anything before the party. Whatever your need please tell me what, ok? If someday you need help with Tony, tell me, ok. I hope that he is a good father"
She watched and listened to her talk about what had happened, and she hung her head a bit as Miss Potts talked about what she felt. Then when she was done talking, Abby looked up just in time to have her stroke her face like her mother used to do when she was explaining something to her that she didn’t think the girl was old enough to understand. She then felt the tears well up in her eyes before the brushed them away from the tender memory. ”I do not know what he was thinking by not telling you sooner, but he might have wanted to talk to you in person. First he rescues me, then I go shopping for some clothes and items. Then I run from the press out on the streets, before ending up lost. And to top it off, a private investigator starts to look for me. If it were me, I know I would have a hard time finding the right moment to tell you…” She explained to the woman hoping she understood some what of what had happened.

Pepper had to make great efforts not to fall fainting on the sofa, her face growing paler and she was increasingly cold. Pepper was shivering with cold but she tried not to worry or frighten the child. What she wanted now was lying down, resting in Tony's bed and sleep there for hours. It was just tired, nothing more.
"Hey, why you are so sad?. You should be happy, you have a father who loves you and he will protect you, he always does because he is Iron Man" She winked at the girl as she brushed her hair gently. Pepper heard all that had happened to the girl that day in which Tony met with the girl. "I'll talk to your father, do not worry Abby. The relationship I have with your father is a bit complicated, I ...." .
Pepper did not dare to tell Abby that she had feelings for her father. It was as if she was asking her permission to love his father. Beside the fact that Peppers was a little nervous because Abby had seen both of them enjoying a light kiss which was interrupted by her. Then there was nothing else to talk about Pepper's feelings toward her father, Tony Stark.
"With regard to private investigators and the press you will have to get used, sometimes it is unbearable to endure. You will have a social life incredibly stressful but you do not worry, I will help you in whatever , and if you want I will to protect you from press. ... But now I have to leave you, Abby. I want to go home early. But first, you had dinner? Have you something to eat at home? ". Pepper asked the girl concerned about not knowing if she had eaten something. "But one question ... where is your father?. He has not appeared on the company throughout the morning. Surely he is with some of his 'friends'. She is going to said 'lover' word in front of Abby and hide Pepper felt pain when she thought this.

Abby watched as Miss Potts got only paler and started to shiver as if she was freezing. The young Stark bit her bottom lip as her worry increased over the woman. She sat the kitten down, and started to look for a blanket or a throw or something to cover her with. She spotted a throw on the back of couch, and grabbed it. Her next move was to unfold it, and place it over her father’s personal assistant’s shoulders. She knew that deep down the woman was in no position to go anywhere but the nearest bed.
"Hey, why you are so sad?. You should be happy, you have a father who loves you and he will protect you, he always does because he is Iron Man"
She looked at her and gave a small sad smile. ”I just miss my mom, Miss Potts. I know he’ll protect me, but he also has the rest of the world to do so as well…” She answered her as the woman stroke her hair, and she told her just how important she thought her dad was to the world as Iron Man. She knew he couldn’t be following her around the keep her safe and out of trouble. She then listened as the woman said that she will talk to her dad, and for her not to worry. She then understood the relationship between her dad and her was complicated. She only raised an inquisitive eyebrow in response. She somehow got that Miss Potts loved her dad, as from the moment she ruined at the Christmas party the other day. She thought that the two of them completed each other…
"With regard to private investigators and the press you will have to get used, sometimes it is unbearable to endure. You will have a social life incredibly stressful but you do not worry, I will help you in whatever , and if you want I will to protect you from press. ... But now I have to leave you, Abby. I want to go home early. But first, you had dinner? Have you something to eat at home? But one question ... where is your father?. He has not appeared on the company throughout the morning. Surely he is with some of his 'friends'." Abby looked at her and shook her head. ”I’m used to the press and media. I don’t mind the interviews as I have been getting them for as long as I could remember. It is when they bombard me out in the open, is when I can’t handle it. My mom was…” She looked away and swallowed her tears as she thought of her mom, before looking back and continuing. ”My mom was the one who kept me somewhat out of the limelight. And you are in no shape to go anywhere but the nearest bed, Miss Potts. You literally look like death warmed over… And I did have a sandwich earlier. As for where Dad had gone… I’m not too sure. He left this morning, and I thought he said something about a company meeting or something about the media.” She finished and wondered where he was. The term that Miss Potts had used was not lost on her.
