Some of the weapons cracked and the men went in to defensive pose. " you will need to do more than a few stones." he smiled this was good she was getting it. "Don't stay in one place for to long. The longer you hide the easier it will be for them to lock on to you. keep moving never stay still for to long. Find a new vantage spot then hit them from then move on. Hit and runs your foe out number and out gun you so don't give them the chance. You can use the world around you as your weapon make them play your game not theres."
One of the men moved up and started firing at the area that Lorna was at. they had spotted a part of her but not enough to aim at so they were firing randomly some one threw a grande in to the building.

Obviously, Cable was going to follow her around because he continued to give her directions. She glanced at the man for a brief second before turning her attention back on the men with the guns. What were they? She had seen weaponry before, had seen rather state of the art stuff but this was like something out of a science fiction film.
Hit and run. Don't stay in one place. Use the environment. Right.
All of it was bouncing around in her head and just as someone started firing very close to her, she threw up another electromagnetic shield. She flew away from the hiding spot she'd been in and the men noticed her immediately. They fired toward her as she flew behind a building. Just as the grenade went off in that very building.
The blast was mostly caught by her shield but it forced her back to the ground and she instinctively covered her head with her arms. The roaring of the building subsided and Lorna glanced up, to find herself surrounded by the men. Panic set in and the young woman did the first thing that came to mind. She used her powers and flung a wave of electromagnetic energy in a circle away from her body, the pulse crashing into the men around her.

The men hut the walls as they were sent flying back. most of them were stunned and down. Cable smiled she was god she using her powers as if they were a hand or a foot. "good Instinct plays a good part in surviving but you need more." the room went back to normal cable offered her his hand to help her up. " Faith in what you can do is as important as any thing if you do not think that you can win then you will strugle even more."
He was impressed she needed to push her self she had become lax in her powers but with time she would find she could do so much more. " you know with another magnetic field at a set wave length you could open a worm hole to any were." he hope d this would make her work out what she could do.
"now we need to teach you to fight with out your powers just encase." the room changed in to a Japanese dojo. No mater how good our powers are we may need to not use and not using them is some time the way to win.

He complimented her and suddenly, the scenario around them shifted back to the cold, metal walls of the familiar Danger Room. She took his offered hand and found herself back on her feet as if she weighed no more then a feather. When he mentioned that she could open a worm hole with her powers, she gave him an incredulous look.
“Maybe Magneto could but I'm not nearly as powerful as he is,” she told him. She'd heard it before, had been compared to the man in some form or another ever since she'd arrived at the school. She'd never have the absolute raw power that he possessed and he'd had nearly a lifetime to hone his skills before she was even born. Perhaps that was she didn't train as hard as she could have because she just didn't feel that she'd ever make any sort of noticeable impact.
“Where was this lesson before we attacked your base,” she muttered as the room around her changed, again. Now they were going to practice without powers. It was sort of odd, coming from him, but she would go along with this for now. Lorna really didn't have any reason not to. However, she really had no idea what to expect as martial arts weren't exactly her forte.

"you may be not as powerful as him yet, gibe it time. Well if you had it then what would of the point be?" he smiled and studied her. " besides you learn more from doing than me talking." with that a man appeared behind Lorna and tried to grab her from behind. "Use the persons body agents him hit him in sensitive areas don't fight clean any one trying to kill you will not play nice."
Cable smiled he hoped she would learn the lesson. he was trying to teach. she needed to see that you could not fight fare you had to take the person down as fast as you can.

She shot him a glare as he laughed when she asked where was this training before they'd gone after Xavier. He knew what Gambit had done to her, he had to have known and Lorna had to bite her tongue before she lashed out at him. What she really needed was a way to stave off mental attacks like that one had been. If she'd been thinking clearly then what had happened then wouldn't have happened at all. It was all she could not to lash out at the grinning man right then.
Then, he was telling her to fight and not to show any mercy, to fight dirty. Okay. All Lorna could think of were the self defense classes her father had made her take in high school. One of the joys of being raised in New York City was living in a town with a rather unsavory reputation and Paul had taken no chances with her safety. She'd also learned more in her time with the X-Men so she decided to put those to use.
Thick, heavy arms circled around her and tried to grab her tightly. Before he could continue the move, she flung her head backward so that the back of her head, which was rather tough, would collide with his face, hopefully his nose. At the same time, the elbow of her left arm went back quickly, hopefully to get him in the ribs or chest area to knock the breath out of him.

The thing let out a grunt of pain and stumbled back a few inches. it pulled out a knife. It stood there for a moment cable was impressed she was pushing her self trying to prove her self. " Tell me what do you have to prove with all this? That your not like him. Do you think he started out with dark Intentions? He was trying to help his friends do the right thing then after one push to far he snapped."
He watched arms folded he was more interested in how she would react. To his words than anything else. The man moved closer with the knife trying to stab Lorna

What did she have to prove? He was the one dictating what they were doing and he was asking her what she had to prove? Okay, so it made sense to know how to protect herself should her powers become useless or something but the man now had a knife and her gut instinct was to wrench it out of his hands with her powers.
Which was what she did although that was against the rules he'd set.
The knife easily slid from the man's hand and came toward her. However, instead of grasping onto it herself, she made the metal collapse upon itself and literally turned the glinting piece of metal into a ball and it hovered near her, encased in a green glow.
“I don't know, I'm trying to do what you are saying but unless you at least teach me how to react without my powers, I'm going to fall back on them each and every time. It just too easy to do it, especially if someone is coming at me with something like a knife,” she told him, green eyes locked on his blue one and agitation very evident in her voice.

"The mannequin froze in mid thrust. "look at the way he extending him self. if he dose not hit home he will lose his balance. slide out of the way and pull the arm down." cable moved behind Lorna and guided her to the proper stance. He placed his hands on her hips guiding her as the thing moved slowly. "you need to keep your advantage never let them get the upper hand. But remember if they think your a helpless girl they get lazy and you have the underhand." he steeped back as the simulation started again. she would have a few seconds to get her wits together before she have to act.

Lorna tossed the now crumpled up knife behind her as Cable came forward. The man had stopped, frozen by the simulation that surrounded them in the Danger Room, the look of sheer determination still etched on his features. Well, she'd asked for it, hadn't she? While she was many things, the young green haired woman wasn't stupid. He was offering her something she needed, training, and she wasn't about to look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth.
She observed the frozen man's stance as Nathan began to point out what would happen should he miss striking her. Okay, now that she was able to step back and see what he was seeing, she could definitely see that. “Slide out of the way and pull the arm down,” she repeated, more to herself then to him.
As he placed his hands on her hips and moved her with the motion that he wanted her to use, she tried to memorize the feel of the movement. It wasn't too hard although she did practice is a few more times before he released he hold on the man.
Lorna almost laughed when he said that thugs get lazy if they think she was a helpless girl. In some ways, she was. She was very vulnerable to any sort of mental attacks and could usually be caught off guard by a dazzling smile or a compliment but over all, she could hold her own against just about anyone. Usually.
The simulation came to life once again and put what she had practiced into motion. It didn't matter that he no longer had the knife, getting this to work was the only thing on her mind. And it did work. As he lunged, she side stepped him and grasped his arm, pulling it down as she did so. It pulled down and back, catching the man off balance.
Throwing Cable a grin, she said, “Yeah, I can definitely do this.”

"good some times all you need is to show a thug that you can handle your self and they will back off. Its only when you come up agents people like me and logan that being able to defend your self is not enough. People like us need to be put down fast and hard before we can hurt you." it was the truth he was a killer for him it was easy he did what he had to do.
"here a question for you how fast can you put up your shielding?" he was trying to keep her off balance one second doing training with her powers then with out and switching back again just as quickly. several objects started to fly towards her as fast as they could. her shields would easily stop them if she could get them up in time.

She frowned at him as he told her that those sort of moves wouldn't work against him or someone like Logan. While she didn't doubt his words, his casualness of it all is what bothered her. Lorna didn't care how much someone was used to hurting or killing others, it should never be so easy with no regrets. Granted, she'd never done it once and really didn't plan on changing that. She was still of the opinion that she could talk her way out of any situation but if it ever did happen, she never, ever wanted to get to his level of not caring. It wasn't normal and made him seem that much less human.
Although she kept that opinion to herself. She had no doubt that he'd take pride in her opinion if she shared it with him. Not that he couldn't see them anyway.
Then he asked her about her shielding and she sensed the objects flying her way before she actually saw them. On instinct more then anything, she shielded just as the objects bounced off her shields. If she hadn't, who knows what would have hit her. She didn't release the shield, either, in case he had more surprises for her.
“Not too bad, I'd say,” she replied to him.

"not at all your able to hold it up." cable smiled as he continued throwing objects they started to move faster and faster putting more strain on her shields." he smiled and was secretly impressed at her skill. "how far do you want me to push you?" the objects fell to the floor. "so are you ready to push your self even further. He wondered how much force her shields could take he sent a blast of telekinetic energy at her shields it was enough force to send her flying across the room.

Lorna barely heard what he was saying as he started to fling more objects at her, the speed increasing so that she was seeing them as quickly as she was feeling them. It was insanity in a way and the bombardment of her shield was beginning to take its toll. She could feel her concentration slipping and it was a relief when he stopped throwing things at her.
She dropped the shield happily and turned to look at him as he spoke again. He was asking her how far she wanted him to push her and Lorna was taking a moment to think about it. Unfortunately, she was still trying to get her thoughts back in order from the physical barrage to her shields and the sounds of metal clanging off of them and against each other. She wasn't exactly up to snuff in the use of her powers and while she could hold her own, she had plenty of raw power to do that, she was still working on fine tuning things. Her training had kicked up a notch since their talk in Central Park but life as the Institute had still been quite hectic and there wasn't always someone available to help her.
Lorna finally felt that she could answer his question when she was suddenly flung backward, through the air and toward a wall. She tried to react in time, to find the magnetic waves that she could see so that she could use them slow her progress and catch herself in midair but she just didn't have that much left in her at that time. Instead, she felt the wall come closer to her, the metal of it calling out to her and she did the best she could.
The shield that came around her wasn't nearly as strong as the previous one had been and she still hit the wall with a tremendous force. The air was clearly knocked out of her lungs and she had hit the back of her head although not as hard as it could have been. Lorna slumped to the floor with an audible moan and sat there with her eyes closed.

Cable smiled till she hut the wall. He thought she would of stopped before she had done that. Part of him felt bad. Well only for a second. "Lorna Your reacting well. We will need to work on your fine skills at some point. The best way is to find a needle and thread and practice. Its the best way to master the fine skills. Now i don't know about you but i always enjoy a drink after things like this?"
He walked over to her offering her his hand. "i am buying."
