Day 2 of his return to the X-mansion. Pyro's mood hadn't really improved. This place was so full of memories he had thought he had buried for good. But now, many of them came up again. And how could they not? He had spend nearly three years here, and in the beginning he had actually even liked it. That alone was a memory he would have preferred not to bump into again...
So far, today, he had managed to stay out of the way of the X-Men or their pesky students, and he was seriously contemplating to negotiate a timetable with Magneto: One day off after every day of X-Men exposure. Carefully he opened the door to the Rec Room and looked inside. Empty, all clear. With a satisfied sigh, he walked in and closed door behind himself. It was in the middle of the morning. Chances were good that everybody was busy teaching or being taught or do other super important things, Pyro couldn't care less about.
With a smile he sat down in one of the comfy chairs. But just when he started to relax, he heard the door opening again. His head turned and his face hardened. It had to happen, of course. He knew it would and he thought he had prepared himself for it, mentally. But now, that it was actually happening, it felt pretty shitty. There he was, his former best friend and new nemesis: Bobby Drake. And in a few seconds he would have discovered him too, sitting there. Pyro's hand reflexively went into his jeans pocket and grabbed his zippo. Just in case.

Bobby walked into the Rec room, having just gotten back from taking the new X-Jet out for a test run. Scott was teaching him how to pilot it and the lessons were paying off. Since he had become an official X-Men his training on his powers, had become more intense. They were testing the limits of his powers and seeing what new ways he could use them.
He walked into the room, expecting to find Rogue. He looked around and saw someone else, he had mix feelings for, John. He forgot for a minute that the Brotherhood had come to the mansion. He gave John a cold look, not noticing him reach for his pocket. "What are you doing back? Thought were still with Magneto?" He notices that his hands had turn to ice by instinct and moves his fingers around to break the ice from his hands.

Bobby's icy hand nearly made John flick open his zippo but he realized just in time that it had been an involuntary reflex, a reaction of seeing him sitting there in the heart of the mansion. Not an attack. "Like the black leather, Drake, suits you", Pyro commented in a slightly mocking tone, looking him up and down. "But it seems they just give you the dress, and not all the infos, huh?"
He made an artificial pause to let his words sink in, then continued. "Our two leaders, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that we need to work together against this Apocalypse guy who is, apparently, super-duper dangerous. Magneto dragged me along, didn't really have much of a choice." He got up now, feeling awkward sitting while Bobby was standing there very alert, shaking his ice off.
"Believe me when I say, that I am no fan of this. In my book, we still have a score to settle after what happened on Alcatraz." His hand remained in his pocket, fixed to his zippo. And thinking back on what had happened on the island, he felt his anger welling up again.

Bobby listens as John reminds him that all the mutants had gathered for an impending doom. They had to gather and learn to work together to defeat this new threat. He mentally slaps himself for forgetting about this, but seeing John made him forget about it cause they didn't leave off on good terms.
"Believe me when I say, that I am no fan of this. In my book, we still have a score to settle after what happened on Alcatraz."
Bobby crosses his arm around his chest and grins at the reminder of their battle. He actually discovered that he can transform his body into crystalline ice. "From what I remember, I did stop you and won that fight. Which proves Ice is better then Fire."
He continues to watch him, "You know, it wouldnt have come to that if you didnt leave the Institute. The professor will still accept you back."

Pyro gave a scoffing snort. "Yeah, right. You surprised me, that's all." He had no way to know that Bobby was able to transform himself into pure ice, how could he? "Next time I'll be better prepared..." A slight, evil smile played around his lips. Because yeah, there would be a next time, as sure as fire was hot and ice was cold, there would be. And he had some new tricks in his sleeve as well now.
"Seems he already has, and under my terms..." Pyro had a pretty satisfied look on his face. "Interesting how the high and mighty Xavier suddenly has no problems with a bit of moral corruption in the house when he needs help. There is a whole semester ethics class in the waiting here..."
The fire mutant kept his eyes firmly on the leather clad frame of his former friend. "Anyways, you're the real deal now, right? An X-Men and all that? Part of the grown-up team?" Probably he got this promotion after beating him on Alcatraz... "I'm curious: Is Rogue wearing the same dress? Because if she is...", he grinned, "...well, let's just say a gay leather club would be nothing compared to you two... oh wait... by now the effects of the cure must be gone, huh? Too bad..."

Bobby continues his cold stare, his body temperature lowering."Its not the professor who gave in, its your leader. He was the one who originally wanted to turn Humans into Mutants remember. He is just upset that something stronger then him may be able to beat him to it. He also knows that his group of lackies is to weak to take it on. Look at how many times he has been beaten already."
He grins, knowing John hates to be on the losing side. He always wanted to feel like he had the upper hand. He began to turn the floor under is feet to ice as he spoke of Anna-Marie like that. "Yes we have both proved ourselves to be X-men. What have you been able to prove, huh? Still unable to make fire on your own. Still carrying your little zippo around." He watches the reactions from Johns face knowing that not being able to produce fire always got to him. "Atleast, I can use the moisture in the air."

"Let's not forget that Xavier, and in all likelihood everybody else from the X-Men, would have been gone without the help of Magneto and Mystique at Alkali Lake", John reminded Bobby. "And on Alcatraz... you were just lucky. Besides... Apocalypse is a threat for mutants as much as for humans, that's why Magneto graciously came to help your begging professor." Pyro smiled, much happier with this interpretation of the events.
And he realized how he had gotten to Bobby when he saw ice building up under his feet while he talked about Rogue. His smile grew into a grin. "Well, I hope you've enjoyed the sex as long as it lasted..." He shook his head. "I've never really understood your choice of girlfriend, Drake... it's as if you actually didn't really want to touch a girl..."
But his face went darker quickly when Bobby talked about his powers and how he wasn't able to generate fire on his own. His one grand, hated weakness, and Bobby knew all about it of course. "Fuck you, Drake. I've proven myself countless times. I rose from a little X-Men student to Magneto's right-hand man within a few months while you still were debating ethics with the kiddies in Xavier's classrooms." His fingers played with the zippo in his jeans pocket... God, how he longed to teach Iceboy a lesson...

Bobby realized he was getting to John. He didnt want to put another tear into their friendship, but what he said about AnnaMarie was wrong. He realized his feet and hands had already turned to ice and most of his side of the room was changing with him. He couldn't let a fight go off inside the mansion. Especially with their powers doing the damage.
Bobby tries to calm, himself as the ice slowly goes away."Well you do know, if Magneto has no use for you anymore, he will toss you to the curb like he did some of the others. If your dying, he won't save you. You just want all the power and none of the responsibility."

Was he serious? John observed with growing surprise and alarm how Bobby started to turn the room into an ice cave. He actually wanted a fight in here? Pyro was only too ready to battle him again but it seemed not very Bobby-like to lose control like that. Obviously his words must have hit a weak spot. "What's happening, Bobby-boy, am I hitting too close to home?" He smirked.
But then the Iceman realized what he was doing and calmed himself down, just when Pyro was ready to take his zippo out. Instead of fighting him, Bobby decided to continue with his mission to turn him back. And yeah, the fire mutant had no illusions about Magneto, not after he had witnessed what the Brotherhood leader had done to Mystique. "Magneto fights for a cause and he's only interested in people who can help him reach his goals, I know that. But I'm one of those people. And when I'm dying... I'm dying, nobody can do anything at that point. It won't happen anytime soon, though..."
Then he shook his head. "You're one to talk about responsibility. You and your precious X-Men helped the humans use the cure on mutants, shoot them with darts... in my book that's pretty low, Drake." He relaxed a bit after the ice started to vanish. Then he shook his head. "So, seriously, what's going on with you and Rogue nowadays?" He was curious about that, he had to admit it.

Bobby nods as John realizes his true place is under Magneto as a Pawn and not as an equal. Bobby didnt want to lose John but knew he makes his own decisions. He then began to move and to take a seat on one of the couches in the room. Wanting to have a conversation with John and not a fight if he could help it. If it came to it though he would give it to him.
"You know we had to get those mutants under control. Yes they were part of your group but they were also terrorists. They dont need powers like that. If it was so bad, the would have hit us too but they didnt. " He listened again as John brought back up AnnaMarie and just looked done at his knees.
"Truthfully haven't gotten a chance to talk to her. Like you, she got jealous. After a training session, Kitty gave me a hug, and got upset since she was being able to touch me. That's why she went for the cure. " He then looked out the windows to hide his emotions of not having seen her and how he really feels about her.

"Personally I prefer the term 'freedom fighter'...", Pyro declared. "In case you forgot: We were fighting for our right to exist there. You know as well as me that sooner or later they would have used the fucking cure on anyone they pleased. That the thing doesen't last is the best news in years..." Yeah, and considering how many died in the fight about it, it was also a bit depressing. An unnecessary battle...
Bobby finally sat down, all ice gone. Apparently he wanted to talk after all, not to fight. To John's surprise, his inquiry about Rogue led to a pretty honest sounding answer. But in the middle of it, there was a sentence, he first kind of overheard. When it hit home what Bobby had said, he stared at him. "What? Jealous. Me?" He snorted. "Don't flatter yourself, Drake. You're cute but not exactly my type." Jeez, this got better and better... He shook his head and sat down as well, back onto the chair he had been when Bobby showed up.
"So, in other words, Rogue got the cure but you haven't actually seen her since then?" A sly smile crept into his face. Which meant: still no sex for poor Bobby Drake? That was pretty priceless. Pyro was sure the ice mutant knew what went through his head right now, so he didn't really have to say it out loud. "What happened, did she leave the school? How could you not have talked to her?" Also, the Kitty-thing... "A piece of advice, considering the current situation, Drake: If a girl as pretty as Kitty is interested, go for it. Don't let it go to waste... specially since Rogue will be untouchable soon enough. Then all you can do, is talk again."
This was the kind of conversation he had avoided while he was still at the school, observing his best friend and the untouchable girl dating, talking, laughing - everything but touching. And for that Bobby neglected their friendship. Unbelievable... Still, he hadn't said anything, never. He had just quietly disapproved, grown more and more disappointed.

Bobby just continues to look out the window as John kept talking. He actually flashbacks of when John had left, when the police surrounded the place. Bobby's brother had made the call and ratted them out. He realized he tend to make a lot of people jealous, but why.
He came back into reality as John asked him another question about Rogue. "You know they way you keep bringing her up, I'd think you'd want her. He now looks back at John as he answers him. "Rogue is here, she doesn't have anywhere else to go. I just think she's avoiding me, cause of the whole incident with her going for the cure in itself, she's a little embarrassed I think. As for Kitty, she's untouchable too cause she has someone."

Pyro laughed out loud. "Rogue? Come on, man, why should I be interested in her? Seriously... First, I'm really not the relationship kind of guy. Second, if I go out with a girl, I definitely want to touch her if you know what I mean... You're the expert on platonic love, Drake, not me." He shook his head. That idea was even more bizarre than him being jealous...
"Okay, in other words, you're a free man again. Rogue doesen't talk to you, that's a pretty clear sign that your relationship is over... and Kitty is taken..." He stopped. "Really? Kitty is taken..." There was a slight element of regret in his voice. He always had had a bit of a thing for Kitty. Never really pursued it because if you pursued girls, they wanted to marry you, a very annoying treat most of them seemed to have. "Who is she with?" he asked, really curious now.
He leaned back in his chair. "Funny, huh? Me back in the house, you single again, us talking like in the old times... one could nearly forget what went on at Alcatraz..." Pyro studied Bobby's face. "What happened after you knocked me out? I expected to be either dead or wake up in a prison cell, cured. Instead I was lying on a park bench in the city, pretty much unharmed apart from a nasty headache..."

Bobby looks distant as he remembers the battle on Alcatraz. Alot of people died that day. Then again he isnt so sure about that, since alot of the same ones are showing up again, like Jean. People that went missing, are also showing back up, like Scott. Things have just been different since that day. He looked back at John and also wondered who had rescued him, was it Magneto.
"You know John, everything has been weird lately. People we thought were dead are showing up and everything. I think Jeans powers may have brought back everyone that died during the time, and saved everyone during the battle. I thought Magneto had rescued you.
He studies his knees again for a moment then looks back at John with a skeptical look. "You really think its like old times, huh? Atleast, I know for now you won't try to burn me." Bobby laughs, he missed having his bestfriend around. Even though they were total opposites, it really worked out for them in the beginning.

"Nope, Magneto had nothing to do with it." He considered Bobby's theory. "You think, Jean transported me out of danger?" His voice sounded doubtful. "From what I've heard she wreaked havoc and was only stopped by Logan in the end, no?" He looked at the ice mutant with a frown. "And what did you do after you knocked me out? Just let me lie there?" Somehow that didn't fit the image he had about Bobby. Sure, they had battled, they were enemies... but Bobby with his bleeding heart... somehow John had always suspected that it had been him who had somehow brought him out of danger...
"Don't be so sure about that, Drake. If you annoy me... who knows what might happen", Pyro growled. But the fact that Bobby wasn't following Rogue anymore like a lovesick puppy might help not to overly annoy him. "So, what about Kitty? Tell me more. I want to know all the gossip, been out of the loop for a bit, you know..." The fire mutant smirked. Nah, it wasn't like old times, it never would be like that again. But he could pretend for a bit that he didn't hate everything the X-Men and Bobby Drake were standing for, could he not? An opportunity to get his revenge would arise soon enough, of that he was certain...
