The steady rhythmic beating of the Chopper's propellers seemed to drown out all other noise as it hovered next to the bridge. Each thunderous thump served to remind the Cajun that this fiasco was all being taped with intent to be aired at a later date... or maybe even live. That was bad for business, it could soil his name to have media attention fall upon his theft. There was no decision to be made here, it had been made for him by the gutsy maneuvering of the helicopter pilot.
Remy grabbed a card from his deck to kinetically charge it. He took aim at the camera which was stationed in the center of the chopper, preparing to end the video feed permanently when the web caught the back of his coat and tugged him backwards throwing off his balance which caused the card he threw to fly off course. Halfway to the helicopter, the card flipped through the air, getting caught by the wind sending it sailing towards the rear propellers before erupting in a violet explosion.
The helicopter began to lose control and was swiveling through the air as the pilot tried to hold altitude. Whirling blades collided with the bridge cutting through various supporting wires as Gambit was pulled down, tangled by the web and unable to freely dodge the havoc of the crashing helicopter.

The situation continued to escalate. Usually Pyro wouldn't have minded that because violence and chaos was something he generally enjoyed - as long as he wasn't in the middle of it. But that was exactly what was happening. A glance backwards showed him Monkey-Man's attack at the chopper, a glance forwards showed him similar plans by his fellow bad guy.
Then everything happened terribly fast. He saw the goo latching on to Gambit, mere quaterseconds later he felt something or someone colliding with him from the back, then there was an explosion next to the chopper and the thing started to come down and collide with parts of the bridge.
That, though, was something he only realized from the corners of his eyes, because the main event was the fact that Monkey-Man had reached him, attacked him and tried to pin him down now, while his goo was still connected to the other guy. Pyro wasn't super strong, his strength in a fistfight was agility - and unlike Monkey-Man he was not torn to pieces or burnt. "Fuck off!" he complained. "The longer you keep me here, the more will burn...", he warned, trying to hit the guy in the face while he desperately looked for a fire source he could use to help him fight off this annoyingly persistent 'sheriff'. If the chopper would actually explode...

Spidey wasn't going to give up without a fight, especially towards these two mutants. He needed to get them captured, and that was exactly what he was going to do. As Pete clutched the string of web, that took hold of Gambit, he dove at Pyro. Actually tackling him to the ground, Spidey had both of them in his clutches. From out of nowhere Gambit had released a card, which blew up the propellers. The helicopter malfunctioned and tried to gain altitude, but couldn't. Whirling around in mid-air, the helicopter cut through the wires that supported the bridge, but it continued to go lower. "Fuck Off! The longer you keep me here, the more will burn..." Spidey looked at the young boy. "Your an accomplice to theft" he said.
The screams of the crew were heard from inside, as the helicopter headed right for Pete and the others. Spidey had to choose, whether to give up the mutants or to save the innocent lives. Choosing his decision, Pete dropped the web that had been attached to Gambit's back. He aimed his webs at the bottom of the helicopter and pulled himself up to the legs, using the heli's weight. He quickly dove through the inside and threw a man out, making him land on a bed of webs. He then snatched the woman, by her collar and threw her out as well. She also had landed on a web bed, but when he went for the pilot he realized that the helicopter was about 10 ft. from the ground. Snatching the man hard, he realized that he was trapped in his seat belt. "HELP ME" yelled the pilot as he tried hard in ripping the seat belt off of him. Spidey snatched the seat belt and ripped it clean off. Pete grabbed the pilot, but realized that it was too late. The helicopter smashed full force upon the bridge, causing a huge explosion...

The mangled remains of the helicopter joined the growing collection of metal that had been growing on the bridge. Fires spewed from the engines of several cars that it had landed on and their gas tanks were threatening to ignite. The blades of the helicopter continued to spin, colliding into the bridge leaving scars across the roadway in it's wake.
The Sheriff had disappeared into the helicopter to save two civilians and didn't yet emerge. It was messier than Gambit would have liked, having originally only aimed for the camera, but it proved effective. Gambit never wanted anyone to die to finish a job, that was a job for the Assassin's guild, the rival of the Thieves. That death though, could be credited to the self proclaimed Sheriff for interfering and disrupting the Cajun's aim or the hoodlum 'partner in crime' who had attracted the would-be hero's attention.
The supporting cables, kept at high tension, shot out at several different angles when cut. Had he been kept still, Remy wouldn't have been able to dodge the incoming wire but the release of the string which bound him gave him just enough maneuverability to roll out of the way causing the wire to crash into the ground beside him, trimming off a large chunk of the attached web. Gambit stood up, pretending as if it was all part of the plan but it was hard to justify death.
"Think dis means game over, mon ami?" Remy asked as he gazed out over the wreckage. That crash had to have killed the vigilante. Gambit had only met one man who might survive that; Wolverine. Even if the 'Sheriff', an odd moniker for a man with those powers, was dead there was still the question of how to escape. Would he brave the fires, or return towards the guards or... There was always the alternate route of jumping off the bridge. Regardless, the stolen computer files were damaged from the encounter, if not totally destroyed. However the Cajun had completed his mission, he had stolen the files and destroyed the computer. Never being paid for the protection of the files from exploding helicopters or a Sheriff with a goo gun, meant that it wasn't part of his original mission.
"Gambit win again..." This time he spoke more softly, as if giving a homage to the injured civilians and a irritated honor to the Sheriff for being an unexpected card on the river.

As the helicopter smacked the pavement, it exploded engulfing Pete and the pilot in flames. The impact of the explosion knocked the both of them, straight out of the helicopter and across the pavement. Pete could barely open his eyes, and his body writhed in pain. Pete couldn't hear a thing, and he felt the warm ooze of blood spew from his ears. Concussed after the explosion, Pete suddenly gained his sight back. He looked around to see how the damage went, but when he looked down at his outfit, it no longer looked like an outfit.
His Spiderman outfit, no longer covered his upper body, revealing his muscles. His mask was lacerated, and hung off half of his face. Deciding to take it off, he tried hard in getting up, but he was too weak. Looking over at the pilot, Spidey could sense somewhat of a pulse but it happened to be very weak. Spidey used all of his strength to get up, and he managed to do so. Moaning lightly in pain, he stood on both feet. Pete looked at the bridge, and it looked like it was the main climax of an action movie. The bridge had large pot holes, from where the helicopter had crashed. Debris was scattered all over the road, and abandoned taxis and cars were present, blocking the bridge from anything. Pete slowly limped over to the other side where the thief had been standing. This fight wasn't over and Pete was going to capture this man, whether he died trying. Since Spidey had spider abilities he had the ability to heal a lot more faster than the average human. His hearing suddenly came back to normal, and he was now able to hear.
"Think dis means game over, mon ami?" the man had spoke as he witnessed a small smirk upon his face. Spidey's anger grew as he watched the man. He had been responsible for all of this and he needed to be captured so justice would be served. Spidey didn't care whether fire-man got involved because all he could was manipulate fire. A nice toss into the New York Harbor would settle it with him. "Gambit win again..." he added. This angered Pete even more, as he limped closer. Lifting his badly injured hands, he aimed them at Gambit. "Games... not... over... pal" spoke Pete weakly as he began to release multiple web balls at Gambit.

John was on the ground, Monkey-Man above him, trying to keep him down, then - out of the blue - accusing him of being an accomplice to theft. Pyro frowned. "Gee, and I thought you don't like me because I caused that whole traffic disruption..." The fire mutant wasn't aware of any theft and he couldn't care less. He only wanted to get rid of this annoyingly persistent 'sheriff'. But suddenly that problem took care of itself, because when the chopper came down and the people inside it started to panic, Monkey-Man suddenly let go of him and started to play hero.
John was quickly up on his feet and ran, because if this chopper would touch the bridge, there would be.... BAMMMM!!!! A massive explosion shook the bridge, and a hot wave hit John from behind and threw him on the ground again. Slowly he turned around and saw the whole scope of the destruction. The mangled remains of the chopper in the middle of the stranded cars, there was a lot of fire, and some bodies were lying around as well. One was Monkey-Man who just started to stir.
Then the other guy approached, overseeing the damage, muttering to himself. Pyro got up slowly, trying to assess if he was hurt but apart from a few sratches and a slight ringing in his ears, he felt okay. Plus... he had his fire source now, and a big one. Standing slightly to the side of the scene, he saw the 'sheriff' getting up again. His costume ripped to pieces, his face more or less visible. He was young, as young as himself. Obviously a mutant with hero issues. The X-Men would love him. Because despite of everything that had happened, he obviously was not giving up. He walked towards Gambit and challenged again.
Pyro lifted up a hand, and the fire around the chopper started to move and to shape, it whirled towards Monkey-Man and first created a wall between him and Gambit and burned the new goo balls in the process, then the fire started to surround him. Not close enough to hurt him, but he'd definitely feel the heat. Plus, if the 'sheriff' wanted to get out of the fire circle, he would have to walk through. Also, the oxygen in there got less and less. Casually John walked over to his companion in crime. "What a persistent little prick, huh?" He looked at him, being close for the first time. A bit older than him but not much. "Shall we go?" He didn't expect Monkey-Man to cause any more trouble.

Pete missed all the destruction, but didn't really care. He wasn't paid to throw his life on the line, so he left the large mess for the authorities to deal with. Pete didn't pay attention to the fire mutant, because he was just a mere boy in his eyes. Because of Pete's anger, he released a large amount of web balls towards the man with the trench coat hoping he could at least slow him down. Before the web balls could even touch Gambit, a large fire erupted instantly burning away the web balls. The fire made Pete jump back, but he then realized that he was encircled by the large cylindrical fire.
He then realized that the climax of the explosion, released fire into the mix. The fire mutant had the ability to manipulate fire, which made him very dangerous, especially with this amount of fire laying around. The intensity of the heat, made Pete sweat. He grabbed hold of his neck trying not to breathe in the dangerous fumes. The intense heat brought Pete down to his knees. He was trapped and had exactly nowhere to go. Spidey's vision all of a sudden started to turn black.

Daredevil latched his catcher from building to building. He hated when people confused him for Spider man because he was nothing like him. Daredevil believed he was much more stronger than the bug. He was definitely no match for Matthew Michael Murdock, the blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen. Loads of police cars appeared to be attracted to a scene, which happened to be on the bridge. Something had been going on since there was a large plume of smoke right above the Brooklyn Bridge, making Matt curious.
Daredevil decided to jeer right, straight into the New York Harbor, where he swam towards the bridge. Even though Matt was blind, he could still swim, very fast at that. Sailing through the freezing water of the Harbor, Daredevil could see the large flame upon the bridge. The fire looked to have been cylindrical, enclosing someone in it. Daredevil, reached the leg of the bridge where he aimed his zip line to the top. Once released, Matthew pulled himself up hard. Landing solidly on the concrete of the bridge, he glanced over at the mutant who appeared to have been manipulating this large fire. Daredevil ran fast at the young boy, making a dive to where he extended his leg. As Daredevil soured through mid-air he continued his leg at Pyro hoping he could get a kick in, to stop him from manipulating the fire.

After the helicopter erupted in a jet of fire, the flames wrapped around their opposition like a snake constricting it's pray consuming the balls of goo that had once again been fired the Gambler's way. They were becoming quite bothersome. The "Sheriff" was now captured in a burning circle and this time, it had to be the last. He should have known better than to play high stakes with Le Diable Blanc.
Remy gave his partner in crime a silent nod in acknowledgment of his comment combine with the inaudible essence of a laugh. Gazing out over the burning bridge he couldn't help but shake his head. All of it could have been avoided if they simply let him go the way they were supposed to. Without interference from the mutant in red spandex, the results wouldn't have been nearly as destructive as the wrangled metal, mishapped by the lambent tongues of flame and broken cables which were littered across the surface.
A grin began to spread across the handsome face of the red eyed Cajun, it was the same smile he wore when raking in a pot at the poker table. Its dangerous for a big fish to mistake themselves for a shark. A lesson that this "Sheriff" should take to heart.
"Allons-y, mon ami" Gambit began to turn to walk the bridge with his temporary companion when a red flash had been propelling through the air at high velocities. The first though that had crossed his mind was that Captain Spandex had emerged from the flames for another round. Gambit's heightened reflexes were able to extend the staff, impeding the trajectory of the flying kick with an upward sweeping motion which allowed the Cajun to realize this was not the same man as before, though he had a similar fetish for tights.
"Look like we playin' a new hand, homme." On the battle scarred bridge another hand had been dealt. During their battle the sun had fallen down beneath the bridge which was now illuminated by the glowing embers of Gambit's eyes which complimented the dancing flames of their first opponent.

Interestingly, his new aquaintance spoke french. John recognized it without really speaking or understanding it but he got the gist of the words: He agreed with the plan to leave now. A glance backwards revealed that Monkey-Man was indeed trapped by the tall ring of fire Pyro had created around him, there were no signs of an escape.
But just when the two villains of the battle started to leave, a new player entered the arena. Pyro nearly missed him since the noise on the bridge was considerable and he still had this ringing in his ears. Gambit reacted quickly though, and only thanks to that John escaped the violent kick aimed at him. His eyes fixed on the newcomer and he frowned. "Oh my god, another clown in spandex, is there a fucking nest somewhere?" His remark was loud enough to hear for everyone. With a casual gesture, he used the fire ring nearby to create some fireballs that he shot directly at their new opponent. Except this time he was annoyed. The fiery balls came at the new guy like a machine gun, one after the other, fast and persistent - and they moved with him when he tried to evade them.
"Yeah, a new hand", Pyro echoed Gambit's words, happily noticing that his command of the english language was good enough to have a decent conversation. Later, when this bugger was taken care of. "But a quick one this time..." The fireballs kept coming, and Pyro had his eyes on Monkey-Man's fire prison as well, just in case.
