It's been two years since the Makai Tournament with Enki as the deciding demon king of demon world. Yusuke Urameshi and friends have all gone back to their normal ways of life, still seeing each other from time to time. Life seems to have gone back to normal with the exception of demons being able to coexist with humans now that the barrier has been taken down.
However, a new threat has arisen and it's far worse than any demons the gang has ever encountered. They call themselves The Scourge. What has been discovered about them is that they originated from the deceased spirits of demons' malice. It is said these creatures are very ancient and it's unknown as to why they run amok. It is said the weaker ones are mindless and have the appearance of a demon but are generally gray in color with red, mad pupil-less eyes. It is unknown why they're wreaking havoc but one thing is certain...someone or something far worse is controlling them and it's only a matter of time before the worlds are thrown into pure chaos. Can the gang and those who join them put a stop to this? Or will The Scourge succeed from the help of others looking to destroy the worlds? You decide!
