A familiar rumble shook through the tiger's formidable frame. Max parted her large jaws and let out a deep yawn - although it sounded more like a groggy roar - before stretching her front limbs out. Max slowly rose onto all four paws before stretching out her back legs and back. With her limbs loose and ready, Max shook her massive head before inhaling the air deeply. The animal in her analysed every scent she inhaled picking out the scent of prey and the direction the scent had come from. With that done Max reached out with her animal link, scanning the five mile radius area from where she was for the signs of life. Pinpointing the most likely place where the prey would be, Max picked up a light and silent jog. Her striped tail swung behind her rump, natually moving in sync with her body to maintain balance instinctively. Her amber eyes could see extremely well considering it was dark at about nine o'clock at night. Her tongue flicked out to lick her lips as she neared the source of the scent of prey. Dinner.
As she got closer Max slowed her pace until finally she came to a complete halt with her stomach pressed to the floor. She hid within the shadows, her eyes scanning for the prey once more. To her surprise she saw a dog. A domestic dog. A small yappy little thing that was barking its head off. She noticed a collar around its neck so it must have an owner. Perhaps the dog ran off? Max tilted her head briefly, considering if she should have this dog as dinner or not. In the end her stomach won. It was aching something bad. She needed food. Max shifted her weight from paw to paw before leaping out with strength and finesse. Just as her jaws were opening to scoop the tiny ratty thing into her mouth she felt something slam against her front left paw, piercing the skin and shooting pain throughout her body. The impact made Max's body falter backwards, giving the dog time to run and ending up with the large tiger landing with a thud to the floor. Opening her eyes, Max lifted her large head and looked over where the dog had gone. The little terrier was now stood beside a young boy. Hunter wannabe from his clothing and stance. As well as his weapon. It looked like one of those small guns who shot rubber bullets.
Realising she had to get up, Max shot up onto all fours and let out a ferocious roar. Fortunately it did enough to stun the boy so Max had the time to shoot into the dark depths of the forest. Max ran for a while until she felt physically she couldn't run any longer. She ended up stopping infront of a large and beautiful lake. She stood there for a while just staring before the beauty could no longer out weigh the sore ness her left front paw felt. Lifting it up she saw the rubber bullet had not gone through the paw, but had broken the skin. Her paw was a little bloody, but it was a minor injury that would heal. She growled in annoyance - not only was she now still hungry but due to her paw it was unlikely she could do much hunting tonight. Exhaling deeply, Max did the classic feline thing - she let her body collapse to the ground in a huff. It was sudden, filled with power, and yet like any feline was graceful. She laid there on her side and began to lick her wounded paw. Maybe something to eat would just walk right up to her....
Hopefully.

AJ was in a good mood, he had spent time to get out of the X mansion on his bike and he had wanted to go out to the countryside and spend some time on his own to relflect on his life, no one who was a student could understand what it was like to have their powers to kill their father and then them not care about it. The fact that he didn’t care that he had killed his father was something that had worried him but at the same time it didn’t because of the fact that his father had brought it on himself and AJ had only been defending himself at the end of the day.
Someone had suggested that Alkali lake was a good place to go and think despite what had happened there for the X men it was a peaceful place that you could go and think without having to think about what had gone on and you could just relax. He thought that it was a little morbid considering what had happened there that he had been told to go there but he had tried not to dwell on it and had just driven out to the place deciding to check it out.
Driving along the road AJ noticed that there was an animal lying on the floor possibly wounded, looking closer AJ saw that it was still alive. “Ouch that looks painful,” he said softly before looking at his bike and tried to assess if he could fit the animal on the back of it with him.

Upon hearing a roaring sound Max turned her feline head in the direction she could hear it. Instinctively she knew it wasn't a roar of her own kind, and yet... The roaring seemed to calm her instead of frighten her. She watched as a bike appeared and realised that was what was producing the roaring sound. Max's gaze ran over the bike before it lifted to its rider. She found herself tilting her head at the sight of the man. A human. She flicked her ears back and let out a low growl as she noticed him look at her wounded paw. The human didn't seem to have any weapons on him. That didn't mean she could trust him though. Max hadn't trusted anyone in a long time. She bared her teeth at him, intimidation coming instinctively to her. Somewhere deep down inside of her though what remained of human Max did note this guy was supernaturally beautiful. Flawless.
Max noticed the man look at her and then at his bike. Was he thinking about putting her on that thing? An adult tiger? Idiot. Max thought as she shook her head in disbelief. She kept her wounded paw close to her, and keeping her gaze locked on the man once again proceeded to lick her injured paw. Her tail twitched in irritation, slapping the ground repeatedly. Max hadn't run away yet. The man hadn't gotten close enough for Max to feel the need to get up and either use flight or fight. Then again, a part of the reason she hadn't yet was because Max doubted her own ability to do either. Her paw was in pain, and she doubted she could do anything with it without being in quite a lot of pain. Unfortunately her other pain voiced itself as her stomach rumbled with hunger, clearly shouting to the world 'I'M HUNGRY! FEED ME!'. Max growled in annoyance at her own stomach betraying her.

AJ wanted to help the tiger but there was no way that he could help her in a fast way, he would have to load her onto the bike at least to get her away towards somewhere that he could get a phone signal. He could always had rested the tiger on the bike and then pushed it to safety with the fact that it wouldn’t take him that long to get back to the main road, however her got the feeling that it wouldn’t be a good idea and that he was likely to get scratched by the tiger or eaten, seeing a bird flying over head he used his powers to shock it and it fell in front of the tiger.
“That might do something about the hunger,” he said.

Max's body jumped in shock as she saw the bird get electrocuted - by the human - and looked in awe as it fell to the ground between them. Humans couldn't do that. Something about that thought struck a bell within her mind. Humans couldn't do that. If he wasn't human then what was he? Max tried her hardest to figure it out but it seemed like her memory or something was fuzzy. She found herself staring at the man for a while. There was something she knew she should remember. She just had no idea what the hell it was. She opened her mouth to speak, but then heard herself growl. Wait. I can't speak human speak. Max berated herself as she shook her head. She felt so confused, but feeling her stomach rumble she decided whatever she was supposed to remember could wait until after dinner. Slowly she pushed up onto all fours before slowly limping over to the fallen bird. She kept her gaze shifting from the bird to the man before slowly easing herself down to lay beside the bird. Opening her jaws she tore into the bird and devoured it within seconds. She had definately been hungry. Max couldn't remember a time a human - well he wasn't human but she had no idea what he was so she'd continue to label him human until she could figure out what he was - that had actually fed her.
She felt something ache in a good way inside her. It took Max a while to realise it was her heart. Not her literal one of course, but the figurative. Max felt this need to say thankyou at least. Max tilted her feline head for a moment trying to decide the best way to do it. An idea came to mind but for some reason she felt timid about it... Shy? Frowning, she forced that feeling out of her mind and slowly stood up again. Once again Max slowly limped forward until she was right infront of the human. She leaned forward, stretching her face to his, and closed her eyes briefly as she inhaled his scent. Not familiar. A new scent. She hadn't met this one before. Opening her eyes she turned her head a little, parted her lips a little, and then ran her large tongue up his right cheek before pulling away. She limped a few steps away from him before laying back down. Max continued to watch him however.
What are you? Max thought.

AJ watched as the tiger devoured the bird and he had to admit that it was one of the most disgusting but intriguing things that he had ever seen in his life, the circle of life and the power of the tiger was something that he had been disgusted by the ferocity of how the tiger had eaten the bird but at the same time had to admit that it was something that he could respect because even though the tiger was weak an injured it still had the power to rip the bird apart, something that he couldn’t have done if he had injured his arm or leg, that was the beauty of the animal kingdom, they where much different to humans.
As the tiger moved towards AJ he had to admit that he was a little nervous because of the fact that he had just seen the tiger rip the bird apart and it looked he was next on the tigers noms list. However when the tiger licked his cheek it hadn’t been something that he had been expecting, he wiped his cheek removing the small part of saliva that the tiger had left on his cheek before he looked at the tiger again.
“It’s a shame you aren’t a little smaller,” he said “then I could have got you to a vet to take a look at that paw.”

Max glanced at her paw as the human mentioned a vet and huffed, rolling her eyes. She had no intention of seeing any human, especially one that dealt with pets. She was not a pet. She was not a domesticated animal that did things a human told her to do. Nope. She was a magnificant wild animal. All be it, with a heart which bothered her sometimes since Max knew a wild animal shouldn't have a heart. It should live on instincts and nothing else. No remorse. So why did she have it? Max couldn't remember. Spotting the bike again she found herself drawn to it. Pushing herself up onto all four paws she limped slowly towards the human and past him as she made her way to his bike. It looked powerful and fast, a real beaut, although Max wasn't sure how she knew this. Then again there was a lot of things she didn't understand. She stood beside it, close to it, but not touching it with her muscular feline body. Max knew if she touched it with her weight she'd most likely damage it. She inhaled the scent of the bike and detected the human's scent upon it. Max felt a need to ask the man his name, but since she could only roar Max knew she could not.
Max turned back to the man, looking at him with intelligence in her eyes a normal animal should not have. Mad wasn't even sure what she was doing as she limped over to a random branch and took it into her mouth. It was like she was doing something on instinct, but it wasn't the animal instincts she was used to. It was something else she didn't understand. She then moved beside the man, and leant her front end down. Max ended up writing the word 'name?' into the sand before dropping the twig and looking at the man. She didn't realise the oddity and significance of her sudden action.

AJ was wary of the tiger as it got close to his bike but it just seemed to be taking a look at it, he hadn’t thought that tigers had been that smart of an animal but the way that it had looked at the bike it seemed to be smart. He continued to be impressed as the tiger went and pulled a branch down, there was no way that this tiger was just a tiger, he now wished that he was a telepath because of the fact that if he was a telepath he would be able to communicate with the tiger potentially or he could attempt to at least to try and work out what the tiger was up to.
As the tiger wrote the message with the stick his eyes widened and he picked the stick up and wrote beneath it. “AJ, what’s yours?”
OOC: sorry it’s short

Max rolled her eyes and picked up the stick again in her mouth. She wrote 'I can hear you.' Max then paused. What was her name? She frowned for a moment as she tried to think of any name she could remember. She got the feeling her name could start with a 'M', but couldn't get much more then that. She hadn't thought how odd it was she didn't even know her own name. Max then began wondering what she was. Sure, she was a tiger, an animal. However the animals she had met thus far did not have her intelligence, didn't understand the human language, couldn't write, didn't know what a bike was, and well, couldn't scan an area for living minds. She glanced at AJ for a moment. What was he? Were they the same... whatever they were? She shook her head before writing again. 'I can't remember. Humans call me Animal though.' She wrote before dropping the branch onto the sand once more. She licked her lips, tilting her head as she looked at her writing for a while. It was in that moment she decided she had to ask the question that was burning her mind. Picking up the branch she wrote again. 'What are you? Humans can't electrocute birds with just their body.'

AJ was taken aback by the fact that the tiger seemed to be a lot smarter than most. Not that he had thought that there was stupid tigers and everything else but at the same time it hadn’t been something that he had been expecting the tiger to be able to write as many words as the tiger had done so, when it questioned the powers that he had. It had been something that he had thought that he didn’t think the tiger had explained because of the fact that he didn’t think that the tiger would have been able to understand his powers but the fact that she had been able to work out that he had been able to fire electricity to kill the bird.
“I am a mutant.” He said “in my DNA I have been able to generate and fire electricity from my body, there has been a lot of things you can do, elemental things, mental powers even transformations.”

Mutant. Max had never heard that word before. So, he was human... but... evolved? She tilted her feline head and frowned as she thought. Perhaps like humans were apes but evolved. That would make sense, although she found it... Well, would find it unbelieveable that humans could evolve into mutants... Humans with... What could she call them? Abilities? Max frowned more when he mentioned transformations. She looked down at her front paws, lifting them up slightly as she stared at them. Why did the word transformations strike something within her? She parted her lips to speak the human language but then remembered she couldn't. Not like this. Not like this? Max thought. Now that is an odd phrase... Max closed her eyes and felt her body shudder. For some reason she decided to test herself. She thought of the first living creature she could think of - a wolf. The tiger body shrunk, the fur became longer, the colour of the fur faded until it was just plain white, and her amber eyes changed colour into a piercing blue. Her ears grew into points, her feline body changed into a canine's. With the shuddering feeling over Max opened her eyes and looked down at her front paws. Still paws, but white... and smaller. Frowning she stood up and limped over to the lake before wading into it. She then looked down at her reflection. Well... she wasn't a tiger any more. A wolf. She had transformed.
Max was definately confused now. She then padded back over to AJ with a scared look on her face. She picked up the branch and wrote a few words. 'Whats wrong with me?'

AJ was surprised when the tiger changed into a wolf, not that he had been expecting but now it made sense of how why she was so smart, it was because of the fact that she was a shape shifter, now he felt that he wasn’t going insane because of the fact that she would have a human brain and that she may have just been stuck in an animal for some reason, maybe she had experienced a traumatic experienced that she had blocked out and wanted to stray away from, he didn’t know what the situation was but more to the point this meant the animal would have been human.
“You are human,” he said “you should think about trying to be human and trying to see if you have a memory of yourself as a human and you might be able to change into it, I am only thinking out loud though.”

Human? The things I fear? Hate? Max thought. She frowned. How could she have been... human? She shook her head as she started feel her mind getting cramped and fuzzy. All of a sudden a rush of memories she had forced herself to forget came flooding back. Being abandoned... the nuns... the orphanage... The day when her mutant ability flared up... She was thirteen. Thirteen. Now... she counted the summers she had witnessed since she turned into a tiger and stayed that way. She was... SHIT! She was twenty two. Maybe twenty three. In her twenties for sure. It was like a brain overload. Her wolf form slipped, the fur disappearing, her wolf skin changing into a human's caramel skin, her body changing from wolf to human, and eventually, Max was just her human self, naked, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head as she fainted. Unconcious. Max laid there, her body dirty, and scarred from living life as a tiger for multiple years. Too long. Yet, despite that, she looked grown up, beautiful, with curves in all the right places.

AJ was surprised when the wolf turned into a woman and she was beautiful, she was naked though which caused AJ to instantly look away from her, he wasn’t a creep or a pervert he would of course help her but at the same time it wasn’t like he was going to rape her because of the fact that she was now human. Looking back at her he noticed that she was now unconscious moving over to her he began attempting cpr on her to try and make sure that she was ok.
OCC: I wasn’t sure what to do here.

After a few seconds of AJ performing CPR, Max began coughing as she came to. She groaned a little before putting a hand to her forehead. She suddenly realised she didn't have paws. No paws. She sat bolt up right in shock.
"OH MY GOD!"
Max exclaimed, then put a hand over her mouth as she realised she had just spoken the human language. She looked at AJ's eyes in shock as she slowly removed her hand.
"I can talk... I can... I can talk human language..."
She then stood up, all be it wobbily, before shuffling over to the lake. Her front left hand was wounded just as her paw had been. She glanced down at herself. So this... this was what she looked like now. Human. Piercing green eyes. They were familiar. However her body wasn't. It was... It was grown up. She had no bust the last time she had been human. She had been a hell of a lot shorter. She didn't have curves either, or that round bottom she now had. Or the long legs. Her hair was longer. She barely recognised herself. Her legs gave way underneath her and she ended up sitting in the shallows of the lake. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around herself.
"What do I do now?"
She whispered, a sadness to her voice.
