"It is?"
She questioned curiously, something about that little statement had seemed off to her. She'd just met this man, and he was already trying to convince she was safe with him. Emotional as the subject was, she knew bull shit when she heard it. Instead of confronting him about it, though, she decided to play along. 'I'm so fragile, oh save me!' She waited, and he asked her to explain her claims that Emma was aggressive.
Mentally, she was breathing a sigh of relief. She'd dodged more than one bullet there. He could have asked how her family died, or what had made her sick. Instead, he seemed more interested in her aggressive ex. She grinned. Ah, the memory of her, her...The first victim she'd actually cared about. Though the grin remained, a look of sadness filled her ashen eyes.
"Emma was....She was very protective of me, and she had a horrible temper. She beat a lot of asses, both in my defense as well as for the run of it. She lashed out a lot at everyone around her just because she could. She was very dominate over me, and told me often that I 'belonged' to her. Too damned sexy. But, she was also kind when she needed to be, cocky, and funny. Most people thought she was cruel, but, I adored her... If I hadn't..."
It almost slipped out, but she stopped herself.
"If she hadn't died, I'm sure We'd still be together now."
Once again, she was rambling.
"Sorry, I promise I usually don't talk this much."

Daken snickered softly for a second when she questioned whether her secrets were actually safe with him. Granted, they did just meet so there was no way he could already promise such things, but he was doing his best, and had a feeling that she would as well. He listed closely as she explained it all, even more closely than before. His nostrils twitched as he took in her scent, ears perked as his words entered them, eyeing her grin at her own thoughts. She was aroused by the memories of being beaten and owned? Either this lady really did have some serious issues, or she was just kinky as hell. Eh, he would find out soon enough. Just as it was starting to get good, mention of her death came about, not that Daken cared in the slightest, but he could tell that she did. His face shifted into one that hinted at sorrow, his right hand that was stretched along the back of the bench now rested on her shoulder as a sign of empathy. Then, as she suggested that she was talking too much, Daken just chuckled quietly and shook his head.
"Not at all. I am enjoying this. It is very rare that I have a chat with someone in such a fashion as this. Just don't let word about this get out or it will ruin my street cred."
Daken joked, a playful smile upon his features letting her know that it was intended to be humorous, on the off chance that she did not pick it up from his tone some how. His hand upon her shoulder then slid down a short distance, fingertips trailing along her collarbone for a moment before they stopped just an inch below, resting on the skin where the bleeding wound had been only minutes before. His hand stayed there as his eyes looked at it, then up at her face, a more curious smile being shown now.
"Why do I have this sneaking suspicion that the government isn't too fond of you."
Daken joked, snickering. Obviously, it was a jab at being a mutant, which he had automatically assumed as soon as he saw the rapid regeneration that the woman possessed. It was a sight that was far too familiar. Of course, the fact that he was still so friendly with her even after having seen it should have proven to her already that he was either one too, or at least was one of the few humans that had nothing against their kind.

She giggled softly at his joke about street cred, finding it amusing. She then felt his hand move downward from her shoulder slowly to the healed wound. So he had noticed it. He then cracked a joke that, depending on how he took her next few statements, may open up a whole new realm of conversation for them.
"You've picked up on that, have you? Hmm."
By now, she'd finished the sandwich and was stuffing the remaining trash into bag. She sat it ontop of her purse, and picked up her drink to sip at it for a few moments. This time, instead of putting it back down between them, she bent forward and sat it on the ground. As she came back up, she also scooted herself closer to him, leaving about an inch between them. She turned her head to face him directly and tilted it back to rest on his arm.
"I could ask you the same thing...It seems we both have a few more secrets. I think I've talked enough though. Would you care to share?"
She asked, her eyes locked on his own. Would he have something to add, or would he gesture for her to keep talking?

"Hm, maybe later. I want to know what those few more secrets are."
Daken said with a slight grin. He would continue pushing her without contributing anything of his own for as long as the woman would allow, but he was not sure how much longer that would be. After he spoke, he slid the hand away from her collar and trailed his hand down her back to rest on her hip opposite from him, giving it a very gentle nudge to make her scoot even closer. Even if she did choose to scoot closer, he would gently nudge some more, silently suggesting her to take residence in his lap. It was entirely unnecessary as they were sitting on a bench that could hold at least four people, but that just made it even more of a strange suggestion, one that only had a single intention behind it. As he did this, he let his eyes drift downward momentarily to admire her chest, making no attempt to hide it. What was wrong with looking what she was so clearly showing off and was well aware that she could use to her advantage. Though after a moment, he looked back up at her face with that same smile remaining, taunting her to speak again with a soft sound to let her know that he was interested in the secrets she had to offer.
"Hm?"

He'd done just as she'd expected of him, but she wasn't willing to give on this. At his urging, she scooted herself closer to him, leaving nothing between the two bodies now. It seemed, though, that that wasn't good enough. It was a fairly easy suggestion to pick up on, and it was one she was more than happy to obey. She shifted for a second, turning to face him. Then, she climbed down into his lap, a knee on either side of his hips. Her slender arms found a home up around his neck and folded over each other. Leaning in closer, her forehead came to a rest against his own. Her stone gaze returned, and it seemed as if it wasn't going to let up. A clever smirk traced her thick lips, and she whispered to him faintly.
"Well, I have a thing for confident men, and mohawks..."
She teased, changing the subject instead of sharing anything further. She had a feeling, though, that he wouldn't mind that right now.

Daken smirked slightly as she did just as he had hinted at and not only sat in his lap, but took it a step further than intended and straddled him completely. Normally, a woman with a perfect body in a mans lap would have driven him crazy, but the fact that Daken's expression didn't change at all would prove that either he was hiding something much more, or he was even far more confident with the ladies than it seemed at first. He rested his hands on her hips and looked her in the eyes, which he really had no other choice of doing since she put her face so close to his. Then, as she mentioned that she was into confident men with mohawks, Daken quickly responded without missing a beat.
"As do I."
He said, smirking a tiny bit more. Either his sense of humor was even more than expected, or he had more secrets than she likely wanted to know. Perhaps a potent combination of the two?
