Daken grinned just slightly as she stated that she was honored, feeling his ego stroked that she liked knowing she was the only one, outside of his two family members who senses enough to know the difference, to know that he was the one to cause the massacre in the name of Wolverine. She then questioned why she had felt such fear earlier, when he had forced it upon the men and she was standing too close.
He pondered whether or not he should let her know for several moments. On one hand, it was his biggest secret, his greatest strength, and his guaranteed advantage in any situation. On the other hand, she already knew enough about him that he had warrant to murder her at a moments notice if she every considered betraying him. Having made up his mind, he looked at her and shrugged again as if he did not know what she was talking about.
"I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you sure you were not just afraid because you have been too weak to keep yourself from being violated by men like that all your life? Just because someone else isn't as pathetically useless as yourself and can do more than whore themselves out to fat drunkards for a free meal does not mean you need to be afraid of them."
Daken said before looking away from her with a sigh, his words sounding honest and true. Though, as he spoke, his pheromones were being altered to force a sense of anger, one that he would slowly increase with each sentence that escaped from his lips until he ended with it at his peak. Lacking any sort of enhanced olfactory senses, she would not be able to pick up on the change, but her emotions would definitely take wind of the forced chemical reaction. For now, he would not say anything about it until she experienced the rage for herself, then he would explain if she still did not understand exactly how it worked, which nobody did.

"Oh, don't give me that shit. I don't believe in fear, and there is no way in hell those disgusting hogs would have scared me...Especially with me bashing the biggest one's face into the fucking table like the bitch he was."
She hissed, very rapidly, and helplessly overcome with sudden rage, seemingly at his words. Her slender frame seemed to tense up, easily falling prey to what he was doing to her. Her voice seethed with her mood before she knew what was going on. Normally, even that much of an insult would not have phased her. This time, she was speaking her retaliation without so much as a second thought.
Two things would have been illustrated at that point. The first, was that he truly was capable of altering moods. The other, was that, she was not afraid of him in the least. If she had been, she would have kept her mouth shut no matter how angry she had grown.
It took a few seconds after she spoke for it to register, but when it did, her cheeks lit up with a bright crimson blush, and she shot him a glare.
"How the hell did you do that?"
She questioned, the rage he had flared in her slowly starting to fade.

As she yelled at him, Daken just turned his head to face her once again, a snide smile upon his face, as if to be silently laughing at her for doing exactly what he wanted. Calming down shortly after and questioning him about hit, he simply chuckled with amusement.
"Sufficient to say, I can force you to do what I want, and you won't realize anything has happened until you are already doing what I want you to."
Daken said, putting as simply as he had ever heard anyone else put it. When he was a boy and did not have control over his power, everyone around him would be forced to feel exactly how he did. Though ever since he learned to control it, he could force any emotion he wanted onto someone without them even realizing that he is even doing anything.

Embarrassed, and admittedly defeated, she quickly looked away. Turning her head downward, her curls fell to curtain her face as well. She was hoping to hide the blush on her face from him, his smile told her that he already knew, but she did not want to give him any more of that victory. She was annoyed by that smile as well as this new ability, but also found herself even more interested in him because of it.
"So, I can't trust my own emotions around you? Fantastic to know...But, how do you do it?"
She asked, slowly turning to look at him again. She left her hair where it was, because she could still feel the heat in her face from the color that remained.

Daken sighed softly as she hid her blushing face, finding that gesture rather annoying, but at least he was being kind enough to not flat out say it this time. Upon asking how he did it, he just winked at her and evaded the question.
"It is just part of my natural charm."
He said briefly before setting the saucer and empty cup on the table beside the couch, then leaned back to relax. His hands went up to rest behind his head once more, watching her as he decided to ask something else.
"Where do you stand in the Mutant versus Human thing?"

"And how truly charming you are."
She stated playfully. She had hoped for an answer, but she had known it was not going to be that easy. She knew what she needed to know, though. That was what mattered, for now. The cause of his ability did not seem as important as the effect it had.
Seeing him place his cup down, she realized that she had been holding her own cold, half empty cup in her lap, for a while now. She lifted it to her lips to sip the rest down, her hand coming up to cover her mouth. With her own cup now empty, she gently placed it and the little dish on the table in front of her.
She reached a hand up to push her hair back behind her, then slipped it behind her ears. The blush was gone by now, and she did not feel the need to hide anymore.
He raised another question, which she silently pondered before answering.
"Well, I believe humans have had their time to rule. Evolution has picked us and we, as the stronger creatures, should take that next step up."
She was not sure if that would make sense to him, or if it sounded like rambling, but that was her honest opinion.

As soon as Salem spoke the words about how she felt of the war between the races, Daken's face lit up with a wide grin that proved to her exactly how glad he was to hear her say that. He then let out a loud sigh of relief before laughing.
"Oh thank god that was your answer. I was ready to decapitate you."
He said among his laugh, letting her know that he was honestly ready to kill her if she did not think Mutants were the superior race. Hearing her admit honestly that she thought the time for humans was over brought him as much joy as he could have. Though then the amused grin slowly died into more of a sick and plotting smirk as he spoke again, his tone much more devious now.
"Despite being of a different breed, you are definitely worth keeping around when I take over."

I would say that's a tad harsh, but I get the feeling that such a quick death would be a kindness with you."
She teased, her tone showing that she was kidding and found it all rather amusing. To anyone outside of this little group, the subject matter would have sounded extremely morbid, and very messed up sense it concerned her very own death.
"Now, there's an interesting idea...Just what do you mean by that?"
She said, expressing obvious interest at the mention of him taking over. What exactly he had meant by that little comment, as well as what he wanted to take over, she was extremely curious to know.
Of course, his first statement in that sentence had also caught her attention, though she had only realized what he had actually said after she caught the last part of it. It figured, she heard a comment about domination before anything else.
"Aaand, what do you mean, by 'different breed'?"
She asked, her head cocking just slightly to the left while her right right brow rose in a questioning manner.

Daken smirked slightly when his murderous threats were instead taken as a sign of compassion and grace, which was normally something he could not stand the idea of, but it was a compliment in this particular scenario. As she questioned what meant, he knew what she was actually asking, but the lack of specification allowed him to dodge the question.
"It means I will keep you around and not kill you just yet."
He said, instead referring to what he meant by keeping her around, knowing it was not what she wanted to know. Though her other question he would answer seriously, however, he knew that she would not believe him, as it was something that every bit of science would disprove and only two of men in existence knew about, one of which being himself.
"Primates. Your kind that evolved from apes."
Daken said as he waved a hand carelessly in her direction, as if it was some simple thought which made no difference and was not all that significant. She would not believe him, unless she was overly trusting or stupid, and he did not care whether she believed him or not right now. It was one of the many things she would likely find out much later as his plans unfolded more and more each day.

She had allowed herself to get too comfortable and had made a mistake in her questioning, which he had used as a quick exit. If what she thought he was saying was correct though, there was a very good chance she would get her answers to that question later on.
She decided to let it go and move on, as he had raised another appealing subject in this little chat, and it was one she was profoundly interested in. The subject of evolution had come up, and she simply had to know just what he had in mind with it.
"So, you're saying that you evolved from something else?"
She questioned, sitting up straight and turning fully to face him. Both of her slender, smooth legs pulled up from the floor till her knees met her endowed bust. She folded her arms and rested them over her knees, then nestled her chin between them to stare with obvious curiosity at him. This motion had made her shirt slipped down, exposing the panties she was wearing if he cared to look. Of course, he had seen her in far less than this comfortable little set of attire, and even if he had not...Salem was not the shy type when it came to her perfect body, she had no reason to be. Modesty was best saved for ugly women. That was, her opinion, at least.

Daken arched a brow as she questioned his statement with so much wonder, curling up like a child huddling in front of the tree on Christmas Eve, awaiting her deepest desires. He blinked as he stared at her, glancing up and down her body for only a few seconds before he stared at her face again. After a moment, he nodded to let her know that he was serious, then spoke.
"Myself, my father, that runt that claims to be my unwilling sister, and apparently the man possibly more dangerous than myself who, as I have just now learned, is apparently my uncle... We came from Wolves."
Daken said, his nose twitching as he sniffed the air, the curled the right corner of his lips up enough to expose the canine fangs. The teeth, the senses, the savage and feral traits in both physiology and mindset, it would all make sense. Of course, there was just as much chance that he was simply crazy and making excuses for simply having similar mutant powers among them all. The lip that was curled just to show her now hardened into a more serious smirk as his words came out more threatening than they had been for much of the night.
"You are now the third person in the world that knows this. So keep your pretty trap shut."

If his claims were true, this would be very much like a gift on Christmas for her.
"Hmmm."
She let the sound out, thinking over the brief explanation he had offered her. She had been hoping for a more scientific approach, but this would do if it was the only part he knew. If he was still under the impress that she was just some stupid bimbo, he was in for one hell of a shock.
The little female, the large man, and the man he claimed as his father...They all did carry a sort of animalistic manner about themselves from the things she had seen. He went about a little show and tell of his own, displaying his traits to her as he educated her on his apparent origin.
"I was hoping for the science behind it, if you had such a thing to offer. If you do, you've no idea how thrilled I'd be to look it over.
Normally, you'd be called a fucking idiot...But, I can see where it might be possible. I've always believed it a very narrow, closed minded theory that only one species could evolve into an intelligent creature. It's about as ignorant of an idea as believing this planet is the only one to harbor life.
Having seen you in action, as well as those other two you share a relation with, I can definitely see it..."
"As for me being the third to know and needing to 'keeping my pretty trap shut,' the same thing from earlier applies...You could kill me at any second, easily, and I am fully aware of it. Do you really think I'm going to say anything?"
Salem's tone had remained calm and interested the entire time she spoke. She said that last statement with a smile, her happy expression making it obvious that, not only did his threatening tone leave her unaffected, but that she was also being completely honest.

Daken listened closely as she explained her views, and she apparently had a much more open view when it came to the scientific details of what could otherwise not be explained. This made him unusually proud of the woman, as he did not have to worry about him thinking him crazy, and then him having to cut her throat because she annoyed him too much. Yes, they would get along just splendid.
For now, he had to prepare for the next day that he had been waiting for, another day for his goals to slowly flourish until they became a rose so beautiful and deadly that no hand could dare harm. Turning his head to look out the large window, seeing only the darkness of the night spotted with a few lights from the surrounding city, he turned his attention back toward her.
"I am going to crash. I am a busy man."
Daken said as he slowly rose from the couch, letting her know in his own subtle way that he had far too many plans to keep track of, and despite how chaotic and large scale his last one was, he was planning to go out and do more still. Hesitation and unnecessary delay were not his strong points. He would head toward the back of the area and lay down on the bed, and whether or not she joined him was entirely up to her.

She had just gone on a long winded speech about her opinion on what he had just shared with her. Just as she had expected earlier, he had had her talking far too much than she was usually comfortable doing.
After she had finished explaining that she was willing to believe him, and that would have enjoyed some sort of evidence to study, she had wanted some kind of answer. Instead, she was told he was busy, and that it was bed time.
Though his lack of response, admittedly, annoyed her, she had come to expect it. She gathered up their dishes and sat them in the sink, then slowly followed behind him.
She crawled under the covers on the large mattress, laying beside him. She made sure to leave plenty of space between them.
"Mind if I stay?"
She questioned, feeling it rude not to ask.

Daken merely glanced over at her with a hint of surprise and disappointment at her question, clearly thinking it dumb. Shaking his head slightly, he spoke to her.
"Trust me. If I want you to leave, I will not sugar coat it. Though you are free to go if you do not wish to stay here."
He said, letting her know that as long as he did not make a very blunt and adamant demand for her to leave, most likely alongside a death threat, then he did not care one way of the other if she left. With a yawn, he closed his eyes, laying on his back on the grand and incredibly comfortable bed. It would not take long for the man to fall fast asleep, for despite the fact that he had not come close to exhausting his stamina for today, he still enjoyed a good nights sleep when he had the chance.
