She was still convinced that this was supposed to be some sort of lesson. It was the morning of the day he had marked on the calendar after all. He had done so with his own blood, no less. She could not help but to feel amused by that now.
Whatever this was meant to be, it was driven for him, at the moment, by rage. He truly intended to kill her if he got the chance. Whether or not this was some lesson in disguise, or an anger drive slaughter did not matter. No matter the purpose, she was learning from it. She really had no choice.
He broke the spear and leapt toward her, anger painted evidence across his devilishly handsome features. This time she had warning, and she was not going to let him connect if she could help it this time. The mass split, half remaining behind her, and the other half headed toward him. If he did not get out of its way, it would wrap tightly around him like a blanket, and hold him immobile on the ground for the moment so he could not move.
If he were to dodge it and connect to her, she would stand and take the full force of all six claws.
"You're cute when you're mad."
She teased playfully in the same second as the mass had moved toward him.

Daken was mid-lunge when the blob launched at her, but as he was already in the air, it ensured that he would be unable to move away from the attack. It would wrap around him and force him to fall to the ground, the sheet of blood on top of him to prevent him from doing much more than wiggle. He would snarl and growl viciously, shaking around as much as he possible could, desperately trying to get free, and although he was pretty sure it was hopefully, he would not stop struggling even for a second.
"We'll see how cute you think I am when I cut out your eyes and feed them to you!"
Daken yelled, continuing to fight the crimson blanket atop him. He hoped that eventually she would get tired of having to hold that force down on top of him, of course, since he did not know what she was capable of, there was really only one way to know for sure.

"You'd feed them to me? Oh, Daken, you're so romantic!"
She joked, laughing softly. Her tone then dropped low, into a calm pitch. Her joking demeanor changed entirely. She was going to be completely honest and serious for a moment while she had the chance to speak her mind.
"I was weak...Perhaps, when compared to you, I still am. But the woman I was before has died tonight, I felt her slip away, and you were the one to kill her. If you still intend to destroy me, we both know you will eventually succeed. Before you do, know that I am grateful for the liberation you have given me."
Yes, he had stabbed her and nearly killed her earlier. Yes, he was trying to kill her now. Yet, instead of hating him, instead of fearing him, she was thanking him. The way she saw it, the Salem before had been a creature who relied solely on her good looks and her venom, just like he had guessed. While physically she had not changed, she felt stronger than before.
He had given her a gift that she could truly use, even with whatever limits it came. He had unknowingly given her a means of defense and power. She was truly grateful for that, and it was because of this gift that she would pledge him allegiance and undying loyalty. But she was jumping ahead of herself with such thoughts. For now, she had to survive the morning with him.

"Gah!"
Daken growled out loudly as she teased him about being romantic, struggling so hard that it would have broken his bones if such a thing were possible. He continued doing so even as she spoke, and despite his grunting and low growling the entire time, he listened closely to every word that she had to say to him. When she finished her admittance, he sighed heavily before going still, his face in the dirt, as if he had given up or was agreeing with her. Of course this was no different than normal, and it was impossible to tell if he was being honest or faking it to lure her into a false sense of security.

She was not going to risk it. She did not believe that that level of anger would have vanished so quickly. She felt it was possible to trust him after that, but she also knew that her emotions were not the best thing to listen to in his presence. Instead, she went on.
"Whether you are willing to believe it or not, I respect you far too much to keep doing this to you unless you keep making me. I would rather work with you than against you...Which leads to my next question, why were you on the bridge?"
If she could get him to speak, if she could change the subject, maybe he would calm down and stop attacking her. Fighting him back and hurting him was making this worse, and her mocking him could not be helping either. Perhaps being civil would do the trick? Otherwise, they were going to be there for a while.

Daken would wait until she once again finished speaking, laying still just as he was for the last few seconds, sighing once again into the dirt that was smothering him. He then spoke to her, though it would be slightly difficult to understand as he mumbled it into the earth beneath an annoyed growl.
"If you are grateful and respect me, then give me liberation too so I can tell you what I had come to tell you in the first place, god damn it."
He muttered angrily, yet did not outwardly display it nearly as much as he was earlier. Granted, it was still very obvious that he was furious and wanted to cut off her arms and beat her to death with them.

"Fair enough."
As the last word left her plump lips, the sheet of blood lifted and returned to the writhing mass behind her. While she still did not feel like she could trust him at the moment, it was not very fair to leave him stuck to the ground. She would have to let him up some time, after all.
She watched him carefully, trying to keep herself really for anything he might toss at her.

As she removed the blanket, his claws immediately retracted into his arms to further prove to her that he was done attempting to kill her, or at least wanted her to think that for now. But, just as she knew that she could never fully trust him, he also knew that she was aware of that fact. Pushing his hands against the ground, he slowly stood up, brushing the dirt off of his clothes before looking up at her. He remained silent for several seconds as he inspected her, his arms hanging at his sides. Finally, he spoke, his voice calm, but completely serious.
"You can make me black out, make spears, and pin me down. You will need to hone your powers a lot more if you want to be able to defend yourself from everything that will come your way. You also need to know exactly what you can and can not survive."
Daken said, reaching his right hand up toward his face as a single claw slowly slid out near the knuckle of his index finger. He then tapped that claw against the center of his skull, just between his eyebrows. Simultaneously, his left hand did the exact same thing, but tapped the single claw against the left side of his chest, over his heart. They were the two major organs that most people could not live without, even most people that had extremely accelerated healing. Even Daken would die from having his head removed, but that was exactly why he got the alloy insurance policy.

That was not what he had come to tell her, but it was helpful none the less.
"Yes, but how would I figure that out without risking getting myself killed in the process?"
She questioned honestly, watching as he tapped his head and chest. She guessed he was gesturing to his brain and heart. was he suggesting those two organs could be her down fall? She was not willing to find out. She questioned if he knew what could kill him and what could not, and how someone would find out such things.
Another question entered her mind, and she quickly voiced it.
"I wonder if it's just you I can do that to, or if I can do it to other people too.."
She had not seen the car crashes on the bridge like he had, so she was completely unaware. She had just gained these abilities, mastery and understanding of them could not possibly be expected of her right now. She was curious as to her limits and had learned a great deal already. More than anything, she wanted to learn just what else she could do.

As she first questioned him, Daken just laughed softly and shrugged, letting her know that there really was no way to safely know.
"You kind of just get up from a new injury, surprised that you lived. That's about it. But until you are sure, you have to learn to protect yourself more efficiently."
He admitted, hoping that she would take the thought seriously. If she was not sure if she could live from suffering damage to her heart, then she would need to make sure to keep it protected whenever she thought it might be in danger. When she asked if her power was limited to him, his whole face seemed to droop, sighing.
"If your newly evolved mutation is meant to work only on me, I am going to be very honored and very pissed."
He admitted, thinking about it in his head for a few moments. It would feel as if he was some super powerful being able to forge others around him to fit his existence, of course, that would also mean that he would not fair as well in a gang fight as he does right now. Daken then looked at her and took a breath, the claws retracting before he held his right palm upward, his fingers motioning her toward him.
"You do not have to worry about killing me, so go all out. See what you can do other than making me black out and squirm on the floor."

"Healing, tearing it out of people, and making weapons out of it.. It seems like the only things I can do. For now, I'm content with that."
She paused for a moment, turning her head to glance at the mass over her shoulder. Her grey hues watched as it's surface seemed to crawl and move, like it was a living thing on its own. She turned her head back to look at him.
"It..I feel like it's waiting for me..Like, it's listening to me."
She went silent again, thinking. A full minute would pass before he spoke again.
"I'm curious about the sensation coming off of you. It's the same as that blob...I want to see if it's like this with everyone."
She stated, truly curious about the extend of this new power. She felt as if she had just been reborn into a new world. She was clueless to this new ability, as she rightfully should have been.

When Salem stated that she wanted to see what her powers did with other people, he nodded in understanding and turned to take a few steps, about to walk off. Though he stopped suddenly and turned around, looking her up and down once before he slipped the trench coat off of himself and walked over, swinging it around her to rest it on her shoulders. It was not so much an act to keep her warm from the cold at this late hour, but more because her arms were scarred and her shirt was horribly torn from his attack. After this, he slung his arm around her shoulders and gently pulled her as he started walking back toward the city.
"I'll have to keep my instincts in check while you get some practice in."
Daken said with a snicker, obviously talking about how often he killed people, deciding that he would not kill anyone tonight and let her do all of the work so she could learn as much about her powers as possible.

Salem had started to follow him silently when he stopped and turned around. She was puzzled as he started to remove his coat and walk toward her, unsure of what he was doing. When he slipped it over her slender shoulders and put his arm around her, she could not help but blush faintly. Together, they started off.
Hearing his statement, she chuckled softly. Easily picking up on what he had meant, she playful joked in reply.
"I'm sure there's plenty to go around."
As they moved, she felt the mass follow along behind her. She glanced back at it, then at him.
"Uh, should I get rid of that?"
She asked, gesturing with her hand opposite him to the blood mass behind them.

As Salem looked back and questioned if it was a good idea to keep the blob following them, Daken glanced back at it also and pondered for a few minutes.
"Can you?"
He asked, unsure if it was something that she was even capable of doing. Though after another minute, he just shook his head, looking forward again.
"Do not even try, actually. You have been sneaky and discrete for long enough. Have fun this time."
Daken said, further reinforcing the idea that she needed to stop relying on stealth and had to learn to truly defend herself for when the situation would arise that it would be her only option. He knew she was an expert as stealth and deception, but her weakness was raw attack and reliable protection of herself.

"I'm not sure. I hope so."
She stated as soon as he asked if she could get rid of it. Just as she thought about trying, though, he told her not to. She looked up at him questioningly for a second, then nodded.
"Alright."
She said softly. The idea of keeping it out and making an even bigger target of them than they might have already been made her, admittedly, nervous. It was hard to go against everything she had learned and been doing her entire life. However, she knew it was something she needed to learn, and the challenge seemed like it might have been fun. So, why not?
Even still, she could not help but wonder if there was a way she could hide it from view. She played ideas over in her mind of different ways it could possibly be concealed as they walked along. She came to a few that interested her, but they would require she test them out.
"Where did you get this coat?"
She asked curiously. She liked it enough already, but having one of her own could be useful if her idea worked.
