Being that she was sitting right in front of him, she too caught the effects. She glared at him, not out of jealousy, but because she knew what he was doing. Learning to ignore her emotions was becoming a harder and harder task. The waitress turned to take her drink order, and she shot her a soft smile.
"coffee would be fabulous."
She said. her tone beaming happiness. When the poor woman walked away, Salem softly laughed.
"You're terrible."
She teased, meaning it in a playful manner and nothing more. Salem was an incredibly beautiful woman who always caught someone's eye. This morning was no exception. A tall male with long, shoulder length brown hair and quick green eyes picked a seat at the counter right next to them. Bluntly, he flat out stared at Salem for a moment before he took his seat, smiled widely at her, and turned to sit and have his order taken by the same waitress. Unlike Daken, who had only caught the waitress' attention via his mood altering skills, Salem had attracted the male on looks alone.
She ignored him, as she always did when things like this happened. She shifted in her seat and pulled a small note pad and a pen from the back pocket of her pants. Without so much as even glancing up at Daken, she began to sketch the sun rise.

"Jealous."
Daken simply muttered again upon Salem's statement toward him. He lifted his head slightly to glance at the man staring at her, sighing as he turned to look back at her. Yes, she could more easily attract attention with her busty form and her revealing clothing that begged eyes to lock onto her, but Daken was glad that he did not have to deal with that. He could seduce anyone he wanted, but when he did not want to, he did not have many pairs of eyes on him. He had his privacy, his secrecy, life was not as much of an annoyance.
His eyes went down to the paper that she had pulled out to begin sketching, watching her closely as he tried to see exactly what it was. It was strange that she was able to be so psychotically sadistic, and then flawlessly draw out a beautiful sunset while at breakfast. Granted, the way Daken did rather normal things after not-so-average encounters were no different, so he would say nothing of it. Instead, he stayed quiet and watched her. Within a few minutes, the waitress had walked out to give them both their coffee, which he took with a wink to the waitress, taking the cup in his left hand as his right hand took her cup and set it beside her a foot away from the picture, so that there was no risk of her accidentally spilling it on her picture. It was not that he did not trust her to be intelligent enough to not spill her own drink, but he was not sure if she was so into her drawing that she might not have noticed the drinks arrival.

With as many years as she had had being harassed for her beauty, Salem had grown far too used it. For the moment, she was distracted almost completely by her artwork. When the waitress returned, however, she nodded her head to her.
"Thank you."
She said kindly to the woman, though she did not take her eyes off the paper. She saw him move the cup safely away from her sketching, which brought a bright smile to her face. Though she would say nothing of it, she was very grateful that he seemed to care about her work enough to protect it.
The male who had taken an interest in her turned again to face her. He was quite the attractive guy, any woman would have taken an interest in him, and he knew it. Salem, of course, was not interested in the least. Whether it was because she was there with Daken, or simply that she did not find him appealing remained a mystery. Daken should have felt flattered with this, as she had taken an interest in him right away, without being forced to no less.
The brunette male smiled again in her direction. With his order taken, he felt he had time to approach her.
"Hi, I'm Jacob."
He said obviously to her. After a pause and a puzzled expression as to why she had not even looked up at him, he spoke again.
"You like to draw? I'm in a band."
He offered, hoping to catch her interests.
Salem, seeing that he wasn't going away easily, responded.
"Fascinating."
She said in a dull tone, not looking away from her paper.

Daken watched the man walk over and try his best to flirt with Salem, and although he admired the poor mans confidence, he was still a fool. Salem proved to him that she was entirely uninterested, but the man remained, waiting for her to look at him, sure that she would change her mind once she lay eyes on him. Unfortunately for the poor man, Daken once again used the same pheromones he had to toy with the waitress. The man would soon find himself glancing over at Daken, intrigued by him, but confused as to why he was. Daken turned slowly turned his head to look up at the man.
"Why are you staring at me? You play for both teams?"
Daken asked, staring blankly at him as he awaited a response. The man tried to deny him, but attempts at words only came out as stuttered confusion. Being forced to feel attracted to the same sex when he normally never would, needless to say he was a bit speechless as to why he felt the way he did. The man soon briskly walked back to his table and did his best to hide himself from embarrassment. Daken snickered as the odd sensation stopped flowing off of him. He then turned his attention back to what Salem was drawing, watching the piece slowly come to life.

That same feeling over came her as it had when he toyed with the waitress. Unknowingly, it was caused by her simply inhaling the air around her. She did not glance up this time, she simply listened. When Daken questioned the man on why he was now staring at,apparently, him, the guy struggled for words. She waited for the man to leave before she addressed Daken.
"Terrible."
She echoed, looking up at him for a moment to laugh. The bright smile he had brought to her face a few minutes earlier quickly returning. She shook her head, amused as well by the awkward situation he had just put the poor fellow in.
She returned, once again, to the sketch. She had noticed him watching her, which normally made her nervous. Salem had a need to make everything she drew perfect, and being watched put pressure on her to do so. However, she actually felt comfortable enough with him for it not to effect her. It was a very new feeling to her, this comfort with him and she questioned it briefly. She eventually shrugged it off as him possibly messing with her.
Her face relaxed soon enough from the smile that had lingered there, and she seemed to enter a sort of calm. She seemed peaceful, as if the drawing had put her in a tranquil mood. This was a common thing when she worked, this calm. The world around her usually faded when she sketched. Surely, he would see more of it should he make a habit of watching her work.

Daken did not say a word as she called him terrible, because she saw her amusement in the situation, and he felt like he had stated she was jealous too many times already. Instead, he remained quiet and watched her draw for a few minutes more until the waitress arrived with their food.
"Thank you, Dolores. I certainly appreciate it."
Daken once again flirted with her with the woman as she set down both of their plates before walking off, the emotions clearly getting to her, in more ways than one. He quickly picked up his fork and began eating, revealing that, despite his feral aggression, he had a surprisingly great amount of manners. He ate little bites, his forearms on the tables edge to ensure his elbows were not on it, not making any mess at all. After a minute of testing out each item on his plate, he looked up at Salem to see what she thought of what his nose had suggested.

She saw the bashful waitress approach with their food from the corner of her eye. Closing the little note book, she slipped it and the pen to the far end of the table so that they would not be in the way. Her food was placed before her, and she glanced up to expose a smile of perfect, white teeth to the woman. Daken had said enough of a thank you to her, so Salem felt her grateful smile was enough.
As he went on flirting with the woman, she remained nothing but amused. It seemed he was attempting to make her jealous, which was a vain thing to do. After all, they had just spent three hours with two women far more attractive than the waitress. And, Salem had not even feigned jealousy at them. The fact was, she simply did not care one way or the other.
The plate before her contained; small pieces of beef, eggs, toast, and hash browns. It seemed he had her sense of taste when it came to food. It also seemed they had something else in common, perfect table manners.
She sat up straight and folded a napkin in her lap to protect her jeans from any mess, and was careful not to drop anything onto it. Just as she had done with the sandwich she had eaten on the park bench, she covered her mouth with her hand as she chewed. Slowly, savoring her food, she took dainty bites, and refused to place her elbows on the table in front of her.
Though she did not voice her opinion on the meal, she was clearly enjoying it. other wise, she would not have ate.

Daken would eat in silence for two full minutes before he swallowed the bite currently in his mouth, speaking in a calm tone. It was one one of those things that was enough to stop most people from eating and question what the hell he was thinking. For him, it was just the current thought on his mind and the only thing he had to converse over.
"So, walking in and making friends with the X-Men... Genius or insanity?"
Daken asked quietly enough to ensure that nobody else around them would be able to hear what he said. He did not look up at Salem as he asked the question, and instead prodded at some of the meat, then the eggs, with his fork and placed it into his mouth, munching casually. Granted, it seemed psycho for him to be so calm about a subject that he had openly asked where on the border of genius to insanity his new idea fell.

She chewed her food silently and thought over the question he had presented to her. She thought him completely insane, especially after what she had helped him to do to the reputation of the X-Men..His father having been the main target. However, she also knew Daken to be an incredibly intelligent man. Surely he had reason for such a brash idea.
"That depends...Are you dragging me along?"
She asked bluntly, looking up from her meal to watch him casually continue to eat as if he were discussing something as simple as the day's weather. Had this been the plan he spoke of earlier? She went on.
"Do you want my honest opinion, or would you rather I stroke your massive ego?"
She joked, though there was a hint of seriousness in it.

Upon hearing her first question, Daken stuck a bite in his mouth and looked up at her, shaking his head slightly. It would be moment while he chewed and swallowed the bite before he responded.
"I will not force you to do anything of the sort. In fact, I was hoping you would have a friendly chat with my father... You know, about me being a troubled, fatherless youth whom has a hard time expressing his feeling and all that."
Daken said as his wrist waved around in a circle with fork in hand, showing that he did not care about the man but wanted his plan to go through just fine. He would then stick another bite into his mouth and keep eating before she asked whether he would like the truth or not. Shrugging, he did not look up at her, figuring that the answer was incredibly obvious, but deciding to let her know.
"I will know whether you are lying or not anyway, so go with whichever option is the most fun for you."

she was silent for a few minutes, eating her meal. She would wait until she was half way finished to address what he had asked of her. It may have seemed as if she were trying to provoke him by making him wait, or that she was digesting the idea. However, Salem knew her answer right away. She knew that the subject she was about to bring out would be one that he would want to discuss in private, so she wanted to make the transition easier. If they could finish eating quickly, they would be able to leave sooner and talk.
"Gladly."
She paused, making sure she knew the best way to say it. Then, she went on.
"It's possible that I'd be happy have that little chat for you...But you and I need to have a chat of our own, first."
She stated her conditions in a calm, quiet tone. Once finished speaking, she watched him carefully for a reaction.

"Gladly."
Daken immediately responded before he went back to his meal, maintaining his silence and enjoying his meal. He was not only mocking her previous statement, but letting her know that he too wanted to discuss the details of what was going to take place. He had his own plans, ones that would not make sense to anyone that was not both genius and insane to the worst of both ends. He wondered if she had any plans of the sort for herself also, but unless she explained them or asked for his assistance, then he would not question it. After all, he did not like getting into other peoples business if it did not benefit him in some way.
It would be another five minutes before he scraped the last bite of food off of his plate and placed it on his tongue to gobble it down. Afterwards, he pushed his plate toward the edge of the table and leaned back in the booth as he waited patiently for her, letting her know that he was in no rush at all.

She was finished with her meal and her coffee a few minutes after he him. Neatly, so as to make the waitress' job much easier, she stacked her dirty dishes, fork and trash on top of him own at the edge of the table.
She had spied the price of their meal and, not really giving it any thought, pulled the bills from her wallet ready to pay for everything. If was a habit she had, really. Salem had been alone for too long, and was too independent sometimes for her own good. Now, they would just need to wait for the bashful woman to come around and collect the payment.

Daken watched as she piled the dishes up, arching a brow with uncertainty for his female counterparts overly nice habits. He mentally sighed, but it was not a big enough issue to make anything of it, so he would not even acknowledge it. As Salem pulled out her wallet, Daken shook his head and reached over the table to gently push it back toward her, letting her know to put it away. He reached down to fiddle in his own pockets as soon as he heard Dolores approaching, whom looking down at him shyly. Daken looked around frantically, then sighed with disappointment in himself as he slowly stood up. One hand went to the old woman's hip as he leaned forward to whisper in her ear as that same arousing scent filled the air once more.
"I forgot my wallet. I do not suppose I can make this up to you later and pay for my meal later in some other way... Say, eight tonight?"
Daken said. The woman's knees went weak as she was in shock for several moments before she nodded frantically, unable to speak about what was going on. Daken then tossed her a wink before nodding his head toward Salem to tell her to follow him as he slowly walked out of the diner, holding the door open after he walked out so that Salem could follow close behind. His senses were carefully paying attention to see if she would try to pay behind his back.

Given everything he had witnessed her do that night, it was not surprising at all that he would find her kindness a bit odd. If he had forgotten, she had attempted to do the same at the first diner despite her plate being busted and blood soaked. There was no point in being a complete jack ass to someone who was just doing their job.
He pushed her money back, and she took the hint. Shrugging her slender shoulders, she slipped the cotton paper back into her wallet and forced it into her pocket once again. When their waitress returned, she watched in silent admiration as he, apparently, scored them a free meal. It seemed that he had been grooming the woman for it the entire time they had been there. She had no idea what the deal was with it, but she was not complaining in the least. It was his business, after all.
As she passed the woman by, she gave her a silent nod, as if to thank her. Nothing more was exchanged between the two women, and she followed him out.
