It was the middle of the night, a storm wild outside her window. Kitty's sheets were soaked in sweat, her body felt too hot, her skin nearly burning to the touch. Nightmares again. It was driving her mad, not getting enough sleep and then going through a day confused and fuzzy headed. She lost count of how many times she'd fallen asleep in class and nearly phased through the desk then the floor.
She needed to see Bobby, just needed to see his face to settle her mind. Kitty knew he was sound asleep just down the hall. Slipping out of her drenched sheets, she phased through her door and padded bare foot down the hall to Bobby's room. She phased through the door and found Bobby asleep in his bed. Kitty sat quietly on the edge of his bed, knees drawn up so she could rest her chin on them. She just watched him. His presence alone felt calming to her insides as the rain beat hard at the window pane and lightning flashed outside.

Bobby was shivering as he was having a nightmare. Searching and searching he stumbled over branches to find his lost love. Kitty was in trouble and each stumble brought him that much closer to losing her. As he came through the thick trees he stood in the clearing and in the distance Kitty was held up by Sentinels. These horrid like machines were rampaging about collecting up Mutants so they could turn them normal. Kitty was screaming his name and he turned into ice skating about trying to get to her. That is when another sentinel landed in front of him.
Bobby froze its legs and tried to get further down the road, but, another sentinel came and snapped off a pot shot that sent him into the air and landing on his side. Groaning he watched the sentinel fly off with Kitty in hand, his body unable to stop the capture. The Sentinels surrounded him and as a flash of lightning streaked across the sky he screamed and that is when he sat bolt upright in bed. Sweating hard he noticed Kitty at the foot of his bed. "Kitty...what are you doing here?" He pulled his covers off and went to sit by her.

Kitty leaned forward, brushing his cheek with the back of her hand gently. "You were having a nightmare, it's okay. I'm here, I'm fine." He'd been saying her name in his sleep, mumbling and tossing and turning. She offered a weak smile. "Go back to sleep, I'm alright. Go back to sleep." Her body gave a shiver even though it was hot. Her skin was hot still and felt weak, tired. But just being near him even while he slept was comfort enough. "Go back t sleep, Bobby." she repeated quietly, fixing the blankets back on him.

Bobby hadn't realized he was saying her name in his sleep. I must've been stupid doing that, he thought, but, the nightmare was so real. Fixating on that dream he realized that every scenario he played out always was the same, even if he got to her another Sentinel was there ready to stop him. He had yet to meet one in person, but, he was sure they weren't so well built and ready to come out of the word work. Reaching over he pulled Kitty next to him and held her close thim.
"What is the point of sleeping when I have you to keep me from dreaming?" Bobby laughed and stared into her eyes. "There is a reason your here Kitty, c'mon and tell me, it beats going back to that horrid place of mine." If only it had been solace he found in his dream.

She frowned and blinked away, unwilling to look in his eyes. She was embarassed to have to leave her room for the comfort of his just because she had a nightmare. But it was the truth, and she would give him nothing else.
"I dont....I woke up sick again." By sick she meant that her body was rebelling with her new abilities again. "I... I can't sleep and I think I have a fever." More than that she was sure, her body felt like she'd been engulfed in flames, sweat dripping along her brow. "I just wanted to see you, it made me feel...calm." Usually, she would have sought the pool, but Bobby's presence proved to be such a better answer. Her hair clung half drenched to her shoulders with the sweat and her skin crawled with goosebumps. "If you want me to go, I will. I didn't mean to wake you. I'm sorry, Bobby."

Bobby smiled and held her to his body. "Kitty, you never have to apologize for wanting to see me in the middle of the night. I understand that cold sweat from nightmares, or, possibly from having your powers a little out of wack. I love you, and, besides, it wasn't like I was getting much sleep anyway before you came. We can just lay here and talk, seek the other's calm and try to make the best of a long night." Bobby applied a cold hand to her back, hoping that it would help soothe some of her worries away. These powers were definetly eating away at her, he noted, I hope I can keep her from phasing through my bed into another room.
"Kitty, when you were young, what would always calm you down?" Bobby mimicked Xavier's voice and tried not to laugh as he did this. He didnt' really want to be like Xavier, but, he wanted to at least be able to have his powers all complete before applying himself to be a teacher himself.

Kitty gave a small laugh at his mimiking voice and thought. "Ice skating, swimming or music." She mused, "But I'm far too tired for the first too. Do you have any music I can listen to?"
His cool hand on her back felt nice, cooling her too hot skin. She cuddled closer to him, seeking more of the coolness he could provide.

"You know, I think I might have some music. I recently bought some cds from a place that sells them cheap. Attending a mutant school where the allowance is quite small, I had to save a lot to get anything. The cd is mixed, and the first song on there is Lady Gaga with her duo with Beyonce called Telephone." Bobby wasn't much of a fan of her, but, a mixed cd was just as good as a regular cd.
Hitting the play button as he reached for the remote at his bedside he played the music and held onto Kitty. The music boomed into the room and he held his ear as he tried to lower it some. "There...so...is the fever going down some?"

Kitty smiled as the song started, "I like this song a lot." He held her tighter and she nodded to his question sleepily. "Yeah, I feel much closer to normal now. Thank you, Bobby. I really needed this." She pressed her slightly hot face to Bobby's chest and clutched at him, fingers drawing patterns on his skin absently.
"Bobby, what were you dreaming about?"

Bobby smiled and held onto Kitty. "I'm glad I could help. Music is said to cleanse the soul and make all problems drift away. When I have a bad day I just listen to the music, and well, I just drift away." Stroking her hair with his fingers he was then brought back to why he had woken in a cold sweat. Staring down at her he thought of a way to tell this story without bringing himself into a deeper hole.
"Well, it always starts the same. I'm in a simulation running a scenario with the team when a Sentinel comes and grabs you. Rather then listen to everyone I tear after the Sentinel. We come into this clearing near a cliff and each attempt to rescue you proves futile as yet another sentinel bars my way. I fight continually, but, it always ends the same way. You get taken away and I get blasted to bits."

Kitty stilled in his arms, fear in her body. The nightmare, she had had the same for weeks. It was the same one every night and it was why she was here in his bed with him for comfort. But rather than send more fear into Bobby's heart, she smiled.
"Oh Bobby, you should know better, nothing could take me like that, I'd just phase through it. I'll stay by your side and fight, no matter what."

Bobby smiled weakly and felt some what relieved by what she said. The only problem with that is the Sentinels in swarm are never a good thing to fight up against. They were a formidable machine like creation built to ruin their way of life. One X-Men up against them is not wise, two, ,and there would be nothing left in the morning. Still, he had to act positive for her. She had came in here in a sweat; just as he had woke up, so no reason to give her any more to fear. Bobby stroked her hair and just breathed in her presence with a smile on his face.
"You are right Kitty," he said with a laugh, "I mean Sentinels are not even out in the open at the moment. These programs merely are set up to test us against strong enemies with no emotional output at all. Still...fear is something that eats away even at the best of us. What is it you fear Kitty?"

She frowned and tired not to sound terrified. "I told you, out by the pool when we decided to date. I...I'm afraid I'll just...phase away and nothing could stop me, nothing could save me. I'm afraid of losing everything, of losing you." She leaned up and kissed his jaw as the next song came on, 'The Kill' by 30 Seconds to Mars. "I like this song a lot too." She tried not to think about her nightmares, how each of them had left her so scared she was crying in the middle of the night.
"Have you ever had a fear that you couldn't rise above? No matter what?"

Bobby listened to her intently and felt bad for her. The power to phase was one of great power, as it could control people and often leave the other person disoriented; that and the fear of disappearing forever inside that person. Bobby didn't want to feel that way; nor ever disappear from Kitty. He ahd done everything he could to be with her, and, the thought of losing her stung close to his heart. When asked if one of his fears had risen above his head he couldn't stop it he thought hard on that.
"I'd have to say not yet," Bobby sighed, "when that time comes and my nightmare becomes reality...then I imagine I would quake in my shoes. How do you cure a nightmare that has no solution/"
