Kurt had teleported them back to his room from the swimming pool. "No," she agreed when he'd looked in her eyes and asked to take her to Xavier and thought better of it. "I don't want to go to the Professor, there's nothing he can do. I'll be okay, really." But Kitty felt shaky, cold and fragile. Something really was wrong with her. She had to lean into Kurt too much for stability, that wasn't right. And her head began to pound at her harder, so hard her ears were ringing, that wasn't right either. It was like her mind was ignoring something that her body desperately was trying to tell her.
These last few nights, nearly for the full past week- Kitty had had something go on. She'd wake in the middle of the night with cold seat beading down her temples, goosebumps along her skin. One night, she'd awaken halfway phased through the floor. She'd landed on the second floor hallway and froze with fear. Kitty had her power under control, for the past couple of years now, she'd perfected it with little problem. But she was getting headaches so bad she'd faint, phased without meaning to through the floor while walking or through a wall and landed in someone's room. Why would she randomly lose control again for no reason?
Lockheed mewed worriedly and sat on Kurt's bed post, watching Kitty carefully. She'd had to keep him away from psychics to ensure he didn't try and tell them something was wrong. Kitty didn't want the infamous attention that she wasn't in control.
"Kurt," But her mind stalled her thoughts before she could find what words were next. She'd had a sentence there a moment ago, where had it gone? The pool water had nearly dried on her, yet she was wet. She was in a cold sweat again, she hadn't noticed in the pool. Slowly, she turned in Kurt's arms, her eyes half-veiled behind her heavy eyelids. She was near passing out again, she could feel the darkness closing in on her hungrily. Kitty raised a hand to his head to ensure he looked at her carefully and understood. "Don't....promise me, don't...tell....promise..." Her feet began to sink through the floor without purpose and as her eyes flitted to the back of her head, her hand phased through Kurt's head. All the energy she had left, stored somewhere inside her, zapped to her hand in that one second it was in Kurt's mind. She felt her hand go numb, then tingling with a strange sensation.
Kitty fell to the floor, unconscious and in a cold sweat. Lockheed gave out a crazed shriek and raced to her side, looking up at Kurt with urgent eyes.
