Kitty stood outside the Professor's door for what seemed like hours, but really, she'd checked her watch and knew it to be only forty-three minutes. She sighed, standing in her X-Man uniform in defeat. She had a huge problem that she alone couldn't solve, and that had driven her crazy. She didn't like the idea that she couldn't solve it herself and just move on. No, her body was rebelling against something she was surpressing and it was nearly killing her.
Slowly, her hand raised up on its own and knocked on the wooden set of double doors. She heard the knock and cringed, no going back now...

Before her hand could touch the wooden door a voiced behind said loud " Come in " . Xavier was aware of Katherine's presence behind that door and even of her concern about something he had to fix or at least she was there for ask that. Charles had been extremely busy but not enough to refuse an help request from a studen .
He was sit although would have liked to walk, a medical order forced him to rest his still weak legs and mind powers from his insistence to use them with no limit. When saw Katherine's pretty face showed a welcoming smile and asking her to sit in one of the comfortable chairs of his study .

Kitty smiled at the Professor, missing seeing his face light up. He used to be so cheerful, and still of course he was, but Kitty wasn't blind. She had seen the difference in him since the incident on the island as it affected everyone. She took a seat and sighed, unable to suppress the rush of memories sitting before him in this chair gave her. So many times when she was younger, asking for help and needed someone to comfort her. Kitty had thought she was now above that. . .
"I'm sorry to bother you, Professor." She began, her voice quieter, fainter than she'd like. "I. . .I believe my abilities are developing again and. . .I am having a hard time controlling it or understanding what I should do."

Katherine was a brilliant student and her powers as well but Charles caught her concern before hear her sigh and with a kind smile the professor answered to which were her words shortly after " Why are you worried , Katherine ? I heard that you're the best of your class but if something worries you can be born just in your mind . " the deep eyes looked at her then relaxed a bit his back on the chair .
" Well " he said " your mind is able to keep your powers under control but I'm not going to say it will be easy . You're growing and this mean that your powers are growing as well , but , as I taught to your actual teacher I can teach you how control them . You musn't think about your powers about slaves of your will or rage and fear can easily make you lose the control over them , instead, you must learn to think about them as part of yourself "

Kitty nodded, licking her nervously dry lips. What he said made so much sense and silently, she cursed herself for not thinking of that herself. Though, she did understand that in some situations, it took a third person outside of the situation to see the problem. When a person got too wrapped in a problem, it took outside eyes that weren't blinded by the problem to see the solution.
"I understand, Professor." It was all in her head then? She had to retrain her mind to work with her powers. "But, it's like it's not my mind that has the issue, my body rejects me almost." She sighed. Kitty needed to explain just what she was dealing with or the Professor could never see the full picture. The problem was, she feared it, only telling her current boyfriend Bobby, though lately it seemed Bobby wasn't going to last through as they'd both thought.
"You remember," She began shakily, shivering in her chair with the nervousness coursing like a black venom in her veins. "When you first found me, I suffered from headaches until my body gave in and phased. But now it's like...I have to focus to stay solid. I have to keep it in my mind every moment of every day or I lose my solidity. And it builds up for long periods of time, when I don't let my body phase. It gets backed up or something and forces me to lose both consciousness and solidity and..." She sighed, guilty. "And that's when I found out what else I can do." The admission was close to her lips and it burned like fire. "Professor, I can phase through someone's head and release an energy that sends them unconscious and I can see their memories. But, if I phase...into their body...I can be them, controlling their body like a puppet on strings for a short time." It was a strong power, something bigger than she'd ever had before. The heat of her fear welled up her eyes, a single tear running down her cheek. "I'm afraid, Professor, after I sue the power I'm unconscious for a long time and I can't get my energy back easily. And every time I lose it, I feel it gather up inside like it's getting crowded inside my head." She didn't let her head fall into her hands, she was stronger than that. Kitty wanted to be fierce, to make the Professor, Logan and others proud of her. "You made me an X-Man for a reason and I feel like this is jeapordizing it all...how am I supposed to fight and use my gift if I have to worry about having someone catch me if I fall? I'm a liability to the team."
Kitty bit her lip hard, choking back the sobs that tore at her throat, so ready to be released. She needed control and to prove herself to everyone and she didn't have it. Kitty had tried so hard for the years she'd been here to be worthy of it all, and she was losing it from her tight grip. Just like how her body phased and she slipped through solid things, everything she worked for was slipping away.
"Professor what if I can't stop phasing? What if I keep falling? I have nightmares all the time about it, like I'll phase through the floor and beyond and never have the ability to stop!" Her hands clenched onto the arms of the chair, nails biting into the fabric. Her focused wavered for only a moment before she found herself suddenly on the floor, having phased through the chair without her trying. "There's something wrong with me!" Kitty hugged her knees to herself desperately.

Charles was silent for a long while stroking his hard chin with a finger until he left his seat for keep to listen her words and meanwhile think about what was right to do . He could feel her concern from her thoughts , had never forget that Pryde was extremely powerful as extremely dangerous if her power was used for different purposes . The fact she has discovered to can use people's mind or bodies like puppets wasn't good , Xavier didn't liked it at all but knew that this moment was going to come before or later.
Once the Professor heard everything he stopped his silent walk behind her chair once heard her proud try to catch back tears and sobs . Xavier's face inspite serious showed a deep sorry and sorrow for the young girl but knew enough about sorrow and be overwhelmed by that wasn't going to help her. The strong hand of the professero held the little shoulder of the girl trying to give her back strenghts and confidence in herself , meanwhile his mind was speaking to her " you have never to fear yourself , nor think you aren't part of the team Katherine . That's the only way in which you can fall ..if you start to doubt about yourself will mean that it's your power to rule your life and not otherwise" he kindly said in her mind while softly smiled to her .
" There's a solution for that " he said then " and it's use your power on me " . Before the young girl could protest or show any concern about , Xavier walked before her up to back to be face to face " I know you wouldn't never harm at me , don't you Katherine ? . Then, show me it . If your powers will try to destroy me trying to rule over my mind or my body then STOP them . You will have to and just you can do that , remember, you rule your nature not otherwise . Now, try..." he said confident perfectly still before her eyes.

Kitty blinked and stared up at him. "No, no, I can't...I can't control your abilities, Professor. That power to someone like me who has never had it before, had nothing psychic...I wouldn't know how to try." She frowned and looked down. But it would help, and she'd rather the first time trying with a psychic power be with someone she trusted. No, she wouldn't hurt him, she could never hurt him. She loved the Professor like another father. He was everything for her, the reason she even came to the mansion.
Slowly, Kitty's head raised to look at the Professor with unsure eyes but determination. "Alright, we'll give it a try."

Xavier smiled kindly and bowed a bit his head for show the look of his deep blue eyes to her ones " If you don't try, how can we figure out what you're able to do or not? " his polite voice said like if was whispering a secret but then the Professor joined the hands crossing the hard finger in comfortable posture " Remember, I'm not going to be an opponent, I'll leave you free way to take control over my power, just, at some point I'll try to force you to stop. That's will be the hardest part I suppose , because will be there that your mind will have to be stronger than your power's will "
Charles knew about Katherine concern and his mile kept on be on his face showing to have no fear and just trust of her " Tell me when you're ready " . At the same time , he let his mind be free of any thought or any will to stop anything Katherine was going to do . Just, took a deep but peaceful breathe waiting for her move.

Kitty took in a deep sigh, focusing. It almost made things harder that Professor trusted her so much. That he laid his life and control in her hands so easily, perhaps he shouldn't. But Kitty wanted him to feel he could, wanted him to see why he chose her for the X-Men and why he'd put her on the team. She wanted to be someone he could depend on like the rest of his X-Men.
Kitty stood from her chair, tears dried to her cheeks uncomfortably as she blinked. Gathering her focus was easy, feeling the rush of energy her power used to do the act was easy too. The hard part was keeping her mind sane while she phased into another person. Slowly, gingerly, she phased, speeding up her atoms to begin phasing. Her body slowly slipped into the Professor's, her form disappearing and merging with his completely as their minds synchronized. She felt her mind's presence begin to share another's, the Professor's. It was smooth, easy, he wasn't fighting her and it made it so simple to focus and keep her head. But it was extremely difficult to get comfortable with another person so close to her mind, she tried not to tap into his mind, trying to turn a blind eye to the flashes of memories close to the surface of his mind. She could easily press for more, see what she wanted to, this being so much easier in how he wasn't fighting her. But she kept her mind from doing so as much as possible. Focusing more on the outside, she stretched his fingers at his sides, feeling the ease of using a body that didn't fight so hard for supremacy. She could see easily out the window, over the green hedge and the vast display of the courtyard down below.
Her mind tugged and she noted that he was keeping his mutant abilities in check, keeping them from her. She was glad for it, she'd never had an ounce of psychic in her and it frightened her that she might be getting a taste of it now.
'Alright, Professor,' She thought, knowing he could hear. Having control of a person's body was like shoving their consciousness in a closet and closing the door, or, leaving it open in some cases. She took control and the mind had nothing against her. Yet, it could fight her and if it shoved her hard enough and she lost the fight, she would be thrown from the body. 'I think I've got the hang of it so far.'
