Lucas sighed as he strolled through the grounds of his new temporary home. He had been issued a new assignment four days before and it wasnt sitting well with him in his head. He had packed up the stuff he needed, mainly clothes and taken them to his car. It was a long drive to the Institute which he was wary of. He had heard rumors of school full of mutants but he had taken it with a pinch of salt, half expecting it to be a myth that new Agents were motivated with. He arrived and after his initial interview, settled in to his quarters. Now he was trying to find his way around this mansion. He was informed that he would be given a tour of the entire complex, including the underground sections. It was just a matter of waiting until his guide was free, apparently it was busy running a school.
He shrugged his shoulders as he wandered throughout the grounds taking in everything he saw. Basketball courts, a swimming pool, some sort of tree garden which seemed really peaceful. It was pleasant compared to the concrete jungle he lived in. The only thing he saw when he looked out his apartment windows was skyline interrupted with skyscrapers and the occasional helicopter owned by a corporation of some sort. He figured he would settle in fine, but new he couldnt get too comfortable.
He was on assignment, after all. He was to track down and subdue a former Weapon X subject, namely Laura Kinney. Apparently it wouldn't be easy, and now that he would be in a building surrounded by her peers, friends and possibly family, he would certainly have a time of it. And depending on how long it would take him to complete his mission, he may end up making some friends that he would have to betray. Was the job ever easy? He doubted it and took a seat on a bench in the gardens, taking in the scenery and burning some time. He had a lot on his mind, after all.

Laura Kinney walked through the hallways of the Mansion, and slowly ended up at the back doors that led to their back yard. Which was more of a luxurious hotel's recreation area for various activites. She felt the warmth of the sun as she exited the large house and entered the open space of the backyard. She walked around and found herself walking through a beautiful garden. Laura still had not made much friends, and been not really socalizing with people. She didn't know how to deal with the people around her, they seemed too... happy. Laura never really felt happiness, and it seemed like this was just another phase in her life.
As she walked through the garden, she came across a bench. There sat a man, he seemed like he was waiting for something, or he wanted to get away from everything. She barely knew anyone, so she wouldn't know if he was a teacher, student, or even an outsider. Laura didn't plan on making any talk with some stranger, but it seemed the man came across the bench she liked to sit alone at. She assumed it wouldn't hurt to sit there with him, it wasn't like she couldn't protect herself.
Laura silently sat beside the man on the bench, making eye contact only once before observing their surroundings. She looked at the flowers, and well cut bushes. The mutant casually looked up to the sun. She tucked her brown hair behind her ear as she looked up towards the sun, trying to figure out what time it would be. It had reached around noon time and she figured simply by seeing how it was slowly descending towards the west.

Reaver sat there on the bench for a while. He was just looking around, watching the few people who passed him, watching birds flying past, watching the clouds float across the sky. He shook his head and let out a sigh. It was boring here! Whenever his duties kicked in, it would at least give him something to do. He lifted his leg and set his foot on his other knee. Sitting like this was a little tick Luc had. He sat like it when he was tired,or bored and today was no different. He sighed as he sat there alone. What was he to do?
His ears perked up with a slight breeze and he felt someone sit beside him on the bench. He turned his head and for a split second made eye contact with the young girl who sat there next to him. His heart rate picked up, his eyes dilated and his cheek twitched. What were the chances that the first person to sit next to him all day was the person he would inevitably have to capture and drag off to a government research facility to be turned into God knows what. He felt a pang of guilt, she was just a girl.
He turned his head again, settled himself and decided that his plan would be to befriend her. He knew that if he did it like this,it would make the betrayal worse but at the end of the day, she was a dangerous threat and he was the best suited to the assignment. And he would get a butt load of high tech equipment, money and more as a reward. He couldnt help but feel like a selfish prick.
''Hey there. Nice day,isnt it?''

Laura Kinney sat there, her heightened sense something off about the person sitting next to her. But maybe her comfortability was hindering her insight of people. She usually would know who good or bad people were, but this mansion was making her weaker. It made her seem like everything would be fine, her guard was down. She looked at the man sitting next to her, "Hey, yes, it is a nice day," she replied in an almost inaudible tone.
Laura still had troubles an elementary child who have, speaking with others. Her battle experience, and abilities, were way above expectations. But her socializing and emotional qualities were of an elementary child's level. She still didn't know how to react to people, since she still had a subconscious fear of losing people. The girl let out a deep sigh, as she was thinking to herself. She wanted friends, maybe this was a chance for her. Since not many people acknowledged her, maybe it was fate or a higher being, giving her an opportunity to make a friend.
Laura simply stared blankly up at the sky, lost in her own thoughts. Slowly, she zoned back into the environment and looked at the man sitting next to her. "Are you a teacher here?" she asked, not really knowing where to start a conversation.

Lucas watched her. She seemed to be in a world of her own. He was curious, he wasnt sure how big a threat she could be. He had been given case files, dossiers, footage of her fighting and training, and he could see that she was a potent killing machine, but sitting here beside her...he just couldnt figure it out. She seemed so innocent, just sitting there looking at the sky. He knew that he had a job to do but he figured it would be a hard one. The only way to get close to her, close enough to lure her back to Weapon X, he would have to befriend her and judging by the lack of people around her, he figured she would take the betrayal really badly. It wasnt right, but he was a loyal soldier and he knew that he had orders to follow, whether he agreed with them or not.
''I guess I am. Wow. I hadnt thought of it like that before...''
Luc sighed as he tilted his head backwards. Things were going to get so complicated. He still wondered what he would be teaching. He had lied in his interview and said that he had several years experience teaching biology, and also that he had experience as an officer in an unnamed agency, classified intel and all that. He figured he would be teaching something science related, or something like training mutants with their powers. He would have to be careful who he helped out, he couldnt have an army of super humans coming after him.
''I'm Lucas. What is your name?''

"My name is.. Laura," she told Lucas. The girl kept staring at Lucas, her facial expression never changing. People walked around the garden, but there were only a few people. There were times when it was awkwardly silent. She sighed again, not really sure what to make out of this situation. Laura barely knew this guy, and she had this odd, excited feeling in her. Her emotions were like a bundle of mysteries she had trouble deciphering.
"When did you start teaching around here?" Laura asked the male, as she searched for questions in her mind. She had to think deeply for the questions to come to her mind that might keep the conversation going. Laura felt like this chance would not come around much and would need to try her best to conversate.
Laura wanted to make friends, and Lucas seemed to be one that was meant to be her friend. That was what she observed and simply would try to make it happen. She knew it would be hard with her social and emotional impairment. Laura felt this odd mixed feelings of this Lucas guy, but it was something she couldn't precisely put her fingers on.

''Its nice to meet you, Laura.''
Already Lucas could see this was going to be a problem. He had been tasked with a betrayal at its core. To find the girl and either convince her to come back to Weapon X or to bring her back against her will. The girl looked lonely, fragile and from what he had taken from his homework on her, highly dangerous and unstable. He was surprised that she was allowed to roam the grounds without supervision. She could kill most people in the building before anyone knew it. Apparently these mutants had a whole lot more faith in people than the Government. Regardless, Lucas knew that she was a dangerous threat and he had to follow his orders, bring her in and subdue her for tests or whatever they were going to do to her. He had learned before not to get close to his targets, this was just one time he knew he was going to have to. Watching her and learning her habits seemed to be the most likely scenario for success.
He listened to her speak. His eyes never left her and he noticed she seemed to be shy to the point of not knowing what to say. He felt a pang of guilt. She must not have many friends, which wasnt surprising but which was going to cause he alot of pain. He frowned slightly as he thought. He shouldnt have taken the assignment. He pondered her question for a moment. Could he officially say he was a teacher there? He hadnt started teaching any classes so he wasnt really sure about it. He still had alot to do before he started afterall. And he still didnt technically know what he would be teaching the kids.
''I guess...Im not really a teacher yet. I havent started taking classes and to be honest,Im not sure what I'll be teaching''
