Place: Stark Tower Time: November 12, 2010. It had been two days since he had been brought back and revived from his decades long sleep, and like in the story of Rip van Winkle, Steve felt like he was on a alien world. He didn't understand anything about this place, it's music, it's supposed humor, or how all these people seemed to have lost their morel compasses, with the way they all dressed and treated each other. Sure, people seemed to be happy, seemed to be getting along with one another, the stores and restaurants hiring and serving everyone, no matter what their race, religion, or political views were. But there still seemed to be a buried uneasiness, almost contempt, between everyone, for someone else. People seemed mad, but almost like they didn't know why they were so mad. He had been given orders to meet with Tony Stark, aka Ironman, at his office, and told to wear his new civilian cloths that Agent 13 had gotten for him, which was not really to his liking, felt too messy and unorganized, but she had already purchased the clothes, so he felt obligated to wear them. If this is today's fashions, I'm not sure I'll understand anything about society, it's just to unorganized. He thought to himself, before shaking his head and making his way from his quarters on the Helicarrier, to the waiting jet, that took him to the landing pad on the roof of Stark Tower. He hadn't been told what the meeting was about, but as the SHIELD agents hurried him into the building, he was sure it was important, he just hoped it wouldn't be a press conference, though when you've got two "super heroes" in the same building, that was what usually happened these days, or so it seemed that way, since he had been thawed from the ice. The agents and Steve made their way through the building, which seemed rather empty, unusual for the tower considering it was a Wednesday, until they arrived at a large room, with a plaque over the door that read, "Conference Room". Oh great, it is a Press Conference. Damn. He thought to himself. However, when the doors opened, he was surprised to see only Tony Stark, there, in his civilian clothes.

Today was going smoothly for Tony, as he had little to worry today, well he hardly worried about anything really. His asstiant Pepper usually kept him updated and never really gave him a chance to miss any of his meetings. though he always thought that they were boring, they never seemed to give him a challenge for business. But that changed when he went from weapons manufacturing to more ecological decisions to help better man kind. A lot has happened to Tony Stark ever since his little incident over in the gulf war. Such as miniaturizing the arch reactor and placing it on his chest. Another him becoming Iron Man and helping people as best as he could. And the funniest one of them all, him being accepted but not accepted into shield.
But those was just the Ice breaker to everything that he's been through for the past couple of years. Such as getting infected with the Extremis virus and having shield implant him with a telepathic blocking ship in his brain. But now it seemed shield had another surprise for him, he had to debrief someone. The file on his desk said his name was Steve Rogers, someone frozen since world war two. It seems however that they needed him now more then ever seeing as they were defrosting him now. Tony wondered if he had any freezer burn do to all that time stuck in a giant freezer.
As he sat down in the conference room he heard the sounds of airplanes landing up on top of the building. He poured himself a glass of whiskey and downed it quickly. And soon enough he heard people walk in, two SHIELD agents and who he presumed was Steve Rogers. "Well isn't the freezer boy, did you see my hot pockets in there I know I left them somewhere" he said jokingly. He didn't know whether or not he knew about hot pockets it was just for the sack of the joke.

He raised his left eyebrow, at what he assumed was Tony's attempt at a joke, but he wasn't sure if it was for humor's sake, or if he was trying to be a jerk. Suspecting it was the first, Steve just smiled. "No, afraid all that I had were my shredded uniform and dented shield. Steve Rogers." He extended his hand to Tony, as he also looked around the room, which was bigger than most hotels and military bases he stayed in, during the war. Wonder what a Hot pocket is? I'll have to ask Nick, when I get back to the Helicarrier. While he looked around, the Agents turned around and walked out of the room, which made Steve believe that they were told only to deliver Steve, then leave, meaning SHIELD and Tony weren't as friendly as he thought. "So I assume you're Tony Stark." This was fairly obvious, due to all the portraits of the man, hanging throughout the building.
Steve knew little about this man, only being told that he was one of the world's most powerful men, both financially, and politically, owning the world's leading technological company. Normally he would feel out of place around a businessman like Tony Stark, but since he had known the man's father, Howard Stark, so well, it made it a bit easier for Steve. After all, Howard was one of the men behind Project: Rebirth, aswell as a friend of Phineas Horton, the man who designed and built the Original Human Torch. "So, you're Howard's son. He was a good man."

Tony looked at him when he applied and just as he expected it seemed like he was all work and no joke. But then again he did come out of being frozen for years so it was understandable. Though he wondered why now all of a sudden to bring him out of his stasis. But it wasn't he position to question, seeing as he was just a consultant of SHIELD. As Steve raised his hand to him to shake he grabbed his hand and gave it a little shake. He let it got to go back to his bottle of whiskey and poured some and downed it quickly. After downing the drink he sat down in one of the chairs and looked over to the man. "Yeah I'm Tony, can't really miss me seeing as I'm every where now" he told him. Ever since he came out as Iron Man he was in more press that he used to be. Which was a lot even then seeing as he was on almost news coverage and magazine cover.
As he looked to Rogers he only knew the basics of what SHIELD told him which wasn't much. All he knew was that he was an American hero and was important to them. He must have been one of the many heroes that Nick Fury mentioned sometime ago. Though the man in front of him didn't look all that heroic, but then again looks could be deceiving. After a minute or so he heard Rogers talk about his father. Tony himself didn't really know his father all to well, and him dying years ago didn't help that. "So I've heard from a lot of people" he told him scratching his eye a bit.

Though he had been frozen for over 60 years, something he was still trying to wrap his mind around, he had only been in a SHIELD stasis a few days, while they made sure he was uninjured and actually alive. It made him wonder just what else the Super Soldier Serum was capable of. As he stood, he couldn't help but wonder what this was all about, why he was ordered to meet with this man, if there weren't going to reporters, and if Tony wasn't in uniform. Was this merely a meet and greet, and if so, where were the others that were suppose to be on the team?
"Not to be blunt, but why was I told to come here? Director Fury didn't give me the specifics, and forgive me for saying this, but you look as much in the dark, as me." He had no idea that he was getting a new shield from Tony, or that he would soon get a new uniform from the Wasp, who was one of the country's leading fashion designers, and designed costumes for nearly all the government assigned heroes. There was still so much that he didn't know, which made him wonder just how much his old friend Nick Fury wasn't telling him, and why.

Tony looked outside to the open window that was over looking the city which was bright due to the sun. He was thinking over of what SHIELD had told him about Rogers. He was told that he was a war hero back in during the world war. He also as it would seem from both him and SHIELD telling him that he knew his father. He knew his father worked on the Manhattan project, and it would seem he was there when he did. It didn't faze him to what he had to do, but it seems like everyone in SHIELD and there mother had to know his father in some shape or form. Tony then turned back to Rogers to get back at the task at hand when he heard the man speak his quarry.
"To be honest I don't know much other then what SHIELD told me, as you can see I'm on a need to know bases with them. Even though I fund most of there operations. However I was told to fix a certain object for you and present it to you. Though I don't know why they choose me to give it to you all I was told to do was fix it. Anyway it's over here". He got his hands out of his pocket and walked up to the front of the conference table and pulled out a circular object covered in a sheet. Tony then placed it on the table with it still covered and then looked up to Rogers. "Well this is it, though it took a little money to get it what they wanted".

Need to know. Seems no matter what the era, the Government is keeping me in the the dark, despite I have a security clearance that would make Gen, McCarthy jealous. Well, maybe not that high, but still, one would think they would tell me a little more, than this. Though he realized and understood that he had been gone a long time, it still took him a while to get use to the idea that he didn't know more, and made him wonder, just a little bit, how important he actually was to his own government, and it's higher ups. He felt like he was being strung along, which made him wonder if Nick was up to something, and if this meeting was just a cover up, but as far as he could tell, if there was a cover up, Tony wasn't apart of it.
Steve was a very good judge of people, his enhanced senses allowed him to listen to the heartbeat, see all the nervous twitches, and other signs a person usually gave off in times of distress, signs that Tony was not showing. It was however true that he hadn't known Tony Stark for more than a couple of minutes, so he didn't know how good the man was at lying, so he couldn't say for sure if he was, and as such, decided to watch as study his behaviors, before making any judgment calls. He was about to ask him about SHIELD, mainly to keep up a conversation, when Tony placed the package on the table. Curious as to what it might be, he walked over, picked it up, raised an eyebrow, and after looking back at Tony to quickly judge his mannerisms, he looked back down at the package, and tore off the paper wrapping.
"A new shield? But it feels, lighter than my old one." Not knowing about vibranium, he wasn't aware of the fact that this metal was practically indestructible, he also didn't know about adamantium, making it even more resistant to harm, he just thought it wouldn't survive a single bullet. He then looked over at Tony, confused. "So, am I suppose to wear it, or keep it on my mantle?"

After Tony put the shield on the desk he noticed Steve reaction to the circular shape of the packaging. He had a sneaking suspicion that either he had a heavier shield or it wasn't the same one at all. But then again that was how Nick instructed Tony to build it. Though again he questioned why he was the one given the assignment to hand it to him. Was it just a formality type thing, where two teammates meet each other by presenting gifts? Or was it just something Nick felt like it was needed for SHIELD to show Tony that there was other heroes besides himself. However he will help the heroes in whatever endeavors, that is the reason he wears the Iron Man suit, so he could help the people of this planet.
As Rogers lifted up the shield after ripping up the wrapping paper off of it he seemed to not like it. Either that or he found something wrong with it and doubted it could even do what his hold one could do. "That shield is made out of one of the radiation depletion levels of Adamatium, it's called Vibranium. It is the strongest metal out there at this moment and is as you can tell lighter but stronger. And yes you are supposed to wear" he told him. He then sat down in one of the conferrence chairs and poured a drink for two. "Here have a drink, I don't think they give drinks while your frozen like a Popsicle".

He looked at the at it, giving it a slight thump with his left hand, before putting it on his left arm. He was surprised how hard, and at the same time how light, it was at the same time. Back in his days, he had to use a 40 pound kite shield, which though it had saved his life on many occasions, was cumbersome and made him feel like he was lugging around a battle axe on his arm. While he liked how light the new shield was, he couldn't help but wonder why Tony had made it so light, and changed it's shape, especially if he was doing it on Nick Fury's behalf, since Nick never did anything without a reason or purpose.
"Not that I'm not grateful, but what exactly is the reason for this new design? Am I suppose to throw it, like some sort of discus?" He raised his hand, to politely refuse the drink, as he chose not to drink alcohol, as he was reminded of how it destroyed his father's health, and eventually killed him. "Thank you, but I don't drink. Too many bad memories."

Tony looked to Rogers as he messed with his new shield, thumbing it and checking it out. He guessed he was surprised how different it was from the original shield he originally had. And he had the right to be seeing as there were some serious improvements from that old kite looking shield. This one was tougher and lighter then the old one, with a rounder shape to be thrown and slice. This time around he didn't have to worry about lugging around a giant piece of equipment when during a battle. However they weren't Tony's personal improvements, they were Nick Fury's. Tony didn't need to question why the changes needed to be made, he took a look at how the old shield looked. From what he could tell the thing must have had a weight above fifty pounds or so. Then if he wanted to attack with the shield it would have taken Rogers here a little time to it back up and continue his attack. At least with this he could slice easier and was able to retract quicker from an attack.
Tony continued to drink from his glass feeling the burning sensation of the alcohol move down his throat. While doing so he heard Rogers question of the design changes to his shield. He put down his glass and rubbed his eyes a bit. "Well if you haven't notice it's more aerodynamic to be thrown. It also happens to have sharp around the entire sides of the shield so you can slice better. And on top of that it's lighter so when you attack you wont be caught with in your counter balance". Then after his explanation to the new design to his shield he refused the drink offer. Seems like he had some bad times with alcohol and shrugged. "Alright".

So it was meant to be thrown, which explained it's round shape, which made since when he thought about it. He had thrown his former shield on a few occasions, to impale enemies or if he needed to stick high jumps or make quick climbs, but because it left him vulnerable and open to snipers, he rarely did this. Still. he wasn't sure how this shield would be any different, so he decided to give it a quick toss, but since he didn't think this was the best to practice, he turned to Tony. "Is there anywhere I can practice using this, maybe a target range or someplace, around here?" He didn't want to risk destroying anything in this room, fearing that if Tony was anything like Howard, everything here would cost a small fortune.

Tony continued to drink from his glass of scotch as it poured down his throat with every gulp. Tony couldn't really go a day or two without drinking, though he keeps telling himself he can quite when he wanted to. There hasn't been any problems with his drinking any how so he didn't see the problem in having a drink or two. But at the matter at hand it seemed that Rogers was a bit skeptical of his new Shield. Tony made sure it was better than his old shield and more useful. However if Rogers was anything like him he would want to field test it first. Which didn't bother Tony at all, in fact he prepared a training range just down the hall. And from his predication he was right about Rogers wanting to see what the Shield was made out of.
"Sure follow me" he told him as he took one finally gulp from his drink and walked towards the door. As soon as he left the room he opened the door and made it stick to super magnets so Rogers could follow suit. Tony walked to the end of the hall and did the same to the door there that he did to the previous door. Once they both was in side Tony went to holographic panel and pressed some buttons with the lights coming on. With in the room it showed some targets some close while others where a little ways away. "Well here you go you can test out your knew shield here" he told him placing his hands behind his back.

Steve, like any good and experienced soldier, wanted to test any new weapon, before he took it out onto the battle field, to make sure it worked like it was suppose to, and this time was no different. After all, he knew what could happen, if one went out onto the battlefield, with a weapon that either didn't work, or that the user wasn't familiar with, and he wanted to avoid that, if possible, and figured that someone like Tony would understand his request. He smiled, as Tony agreed, and as the man walked out of the room, he followed right behind.
As soon as they arrived in the practice room, and Tony turned on the lights, Steve whistled his approval, apound seeing the set up. "Not bad Tony. Not bad at all. It's no wonder your suits' are so effective, with a training room like this." Steve placed the shield on the floor, against the near wall, then took off and dropped his jacket down onto the floor, before picking the shield up again. He eyed the targets, choosing one in the middle row, to his right, and hurled the shield with a slight effort. He was instantly amazed at how well it sliced through the air, with almost no resistance what so ever, as it struck the target in the right side of the head, then bouncing off and striking two more, before returning back to Steve. "Ah, so I get it now. It's designed to return to the spot where it was thrown from. Incredible." He said, as he raised and caught the returning shield with his right hand. To say he was impressed, would have been an understatement.
