Laura had finally decided to head back to Xavier's School, she knew that she would again meet Logan her 'father' she wasn't entirely sure what to call him at this point. But she did know that without him she wouldn't be here, she sometimes felt great anger at the fact that she was alive and all the pain she endured. She shook her head and rid her mind of that thought before she got angry enough to tear someone or something apart, she sighed and kept moving. As she walked through the gates she took a breath of the air, his scent was there somewhere.
However as she walked she wasn't aware of it but she was going slower than normal walking cautiously almost as though she were stalking. At least that's how her mind would have analyzed it, she knew that others might take it that way but she honestly didn't care. She moved on towards the doors, not really aware of the fact she looked really out of place. A quick movement of her neck and it popped, she felt a bit better and her long black hair was behind her now. With a sigh she stood taking another glance around real quick, she knew that this was going to be an interesting day. It was still fairly early in the day to, she wasn't entirely sure why she'd even come back here.
Then she saw the Japanese Garden she wasn't even a student here but still she wandered over smiling at it. The place was interesting to look at and she was glad that it was here, still on the alert though. She walked there and looked at it, calmly as she stood there she heard footsteps. Would she get in trouble? Laura honestly didn't care she stayed on alert though and was trying not to get to riled up or high strung.

The day had dawned on the warm side for winter and sunny so Lorna took complete advantage of it. Dressed in skintight jogging pants, a pair of jogging shorts over them, a moisture wicking short sleeved shirt and a hooded sweatshirt, she had taken off from the mansion with intentions of jogging to Salem Center and back. Her emerald hair was pulled back in a ponytail that bobbed as she moved and earbuds were firmly in place as an eclectic mixture of music poured forth from her iPod. It was one of the few things she'd spent a lot of money on and she was super cautious not to accidentally overload it with her powers. Too many cellphones had met their untimely deaths in her hands. Literally.
She came back to the mansion grounds a couple of hours later, breathing heavy and sweating but feeling rather triumphant for her endeavors. Jogging had always been a part of her life, ever since middle school and she actually received pleasure from the act. Grabbing a towel she always left outside on the porch, Lorna walked around, cooling down as she wiped her face off.
Lorna had turned off her music and was walking around the building, intent on doing one lap of walking when she felt someone in the gardens. Normally, she wouldn't have bothered but it was a sensation she hadn't felt in a while. While she could sense all types of metals around her, the feel of adamantium was vastly different. Perhaps that was because it was a heavy alloy. Lorna didn't really know or understand and she'd really only felt it in a few people in her lifetime. And yes, she knew this was a someone, not a something.
And this someone wasn't Logan nor Faith because there wasn't the right amount of adamantium to be either one of them.
Turning the corner, she spied a head of black hair, one that she could recognize as having seen her before. This was one of Logan's daughter's. Ironically, that man had more children then Magneto did and that was saying something.
Coming into a clearing, she greeted in a friendly tone, “Hello, Laura. When did you get back?”

Laura was tense and ready so when she heard the voice she turned and saw it was Lorna, though she couldn't quite place her she could place her scent. Honestly how could you miss it? How is it that most people didn't realize how they smelled to others like her and her father? She shook her head for a moment then looked at her trying not to smile after all that scent was slightly strong. Not nearly as poweful as when she used her powers.
"Hello, forgive me I don't remember your name. But I do remember that scent, its like ozone almost." She told her as Laura looked at her and took the scent of the plants. Sure they were dormant but she could still smell them, she wished it weren't the way it is. After all the flowers would be so pretty right about now. Though she didn't really care at least it wasn't her father, also this meeting was a lot better than meeting say Kimura. She took a breath and let go of that thought, after all she wasn't sure what thinking about her handler would do.

Lorna stood still as Laura watched her and wasn't surprised that the girl couldn't remember who she was. When she'd at the mansion years ago, it had been hard remembering who was who and there'd been a lot less people back then. Now the place was practically jammed with people although how anyone could forget obnoxiously green hair was beyond her. There were many days she'd like to forget it herself.
However, what took her aback was when she was informed that she smelled like ozone. Ozone? She smelled like the atmosphere? How the hell did she ever get any dates? If people thought she showered a lot now, they were in for a surprise. That had to be the weirdest thing she'd ever heard but she didn't have enhanced senses. Maybe that was it?
“It's Lorna,” she replied to the girl. She was still musing over the whole ozone thing. She'd have to find someone to ask later although that might be a weird conversation. Something along the lines of 'hey, can you sniff me? What do I smell like to you?' Yeah, she was going to have to find someone who wouldn't make fun of her for that one. If Amara was released from the Infirmary, she'd ask her.
Apparently it was so bad that Laura had to go and smell dormant flowers instead. Oh, geez, this was going to bug her big time, now. Lorna was half tempted to turn on her heel and just walk away but she didn't. Maybe if she stood downwind or something...
“When do you come back? Does Logan know you're here?” she asked, waiting to see if the girl would respond to the questions.

Laura watched her, the slight twinge when she said she smelled like ozone. She wasn't sure how to react to that after all she hadn't done anything had she? Laura wasn't sure if maybe she'd done something wrong, or said anything wrong this whole being social thing was harder than it looked. She sighed and kept her eyes on Lorna now she was aware that she had to tread with extra care around her.
"Lorna...right." She told her calmly as she looked at the other person uncertain on what else to say after all it had been a while since she'd been here. Laura kept her mouth shut and kept her eyes on Lorna wondering what was going to happen next. She knew that she should say something more but she wasn't sure what yet. With a sigh she kept her eyes on her and her nose working to sort through all the scents and try to pick up other scents on her.
"Look if the scent thing bothered you, it's because I have a sensitive nose. Normal people wouldn't or can't smell the ozone thing, only those of us with increased or heightened senses can which means all those that are part of the program that created me." Laura told her calmly wondering if that was the right thing. It wasn't exactly an apology but it was probably the closest you were going to get out of the girl since she didn't know what exactly an apology was.
"When did I come back? Hmm not to long ago actually and no dad doesn't know." She told her looking at Lorna, "Where is he anyway? I was hoping to talk to him."

Lorna tried to smile encouragingly at her when Laura repeated her name and nodded her head. Whether or not she really remembered her, the green haired mutant really couldn't tell. There was one thing about Logan's daughter that was very much like him (okay, there were many) and that was she was very difficult to read. Her face didn't give away anything she was thinking or feeling.
Another uncomfortable silence passed between them and finally, Laura broke it. And explained why she smelled like ozone. Lorna had sort of guessed it but it did make her feel a bit better. So that was why no one else had ever told her that and perhaps Logan was just trying to be civil in not saying anything either. She had to try to keep from laughing out loud at that thought. She respected Wolverine but had a feeling that if he'd wanted to say something, he would just say it and be done with it.
“Oh, okay,” Lorna replied, still trying to figure out how she felt about this whole, weird thing.
Laura then asked where her father was and Lorna had to shrug. “I really have no idea. I haven't seen him at all today. If it makes any difference, there's a large, moving metallic object in the area of the kitchen but it could also be Faith. They feel the same to me,” she told the girl, not even thinking that Laura and Faith may not have met just yet.

Laura read her body langauge as though she were broadcasting and it made her want to smile. After all she was so easy to read and she would not attack her after all she was to easily read. She'd probably broadcast her moves before she used them which made Laura actually want to laugh about it, though that was only because Laura was always ready for combat. However she kept her own emotions and thoughts to herself not conveying anything that she was trying to think or do.
Laura was fine with the silence she only broke it because it felt like she was uncomfortable with it and she was fine because she was use to the silence. Laura sighed as she looked at Lorna, wondering just what would happen to her and why she was the way she was. After all this mutant was a mystery to her and she wasn't sure if the way she was made was common or if perhaps it happened more often than she'd been told.
She cocked her head at the shrug, that motion had confused her sometimes. She had never really figured out what exactly that meant, to some it was they didn't care others it was confusion. "Faith who's that?" She asked not sure exactly who she was and what she was going to do about it, because honestly if she had metal in her body that meant something right?

Oh, boy. When Laura asked who Faith was, Lorna wished she'd kept her mouth shut. If anyone knew what it was like to find out you had family you didn't know about for most of your life it was her. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that Wanda and Pietro were her half brother and sister and that she'd had another half sister who had died as a young child. Going from only child to having three siblings was a huge step. Not to mention having a father who was a world renowned terrorist.
Life was never just simple, was it?
“Faith is...” she paused for a second, thinking of the best way to describe her. “I suppose the easiest way to say it is that Faith would be your sister. She's also Logan's daughter, sort of, kind of how like you are. Only instead of just the metal coating the claws, she has it coating her bones, like him.”
It was hard telling how that would go over but if Laura's previous reactions were any indication, she was likely to just stand there and stare daggers at her.

Laura wasn't sure how to react to her, the body language spoke volumes but the rest of her not so much. Her actual words left Laura baffled as to what to do, she knew that this was going to be an interesting meeting now. However it didn't really matter to her since she was after all just a clone she wasn't even the real thing.
"Sister? As in she was carried by Sarah Kinney as well? Or sister as in another clone." Laura asked as she looked at Lorna, some show of remorse showing through when she mentioned Sarah. Her mother was the only being that got any emotion from her, the fact that she'd killed her hurt Laura deeply.
Laura shifted her weight as she glanced around, she could see the staring thing was starting to bother Lorna. It didn't phase Laura in the least but it seemed to bother some people.

For the first time since they'd begun this conversation, Laura showed some semblance of real emotion. What it was in regards to, Lorna didn't know. She obviously did not know the truth regarding Laura's mother nor would she know exactly how Laura felt about the idea that Logan had sired others like her. All she knew was that there was something that was almost akin to regret that passed over the girl's face. However, it was quick and fleeting.
“I don't know who her mother is but I guess she would be a clone like you. I do know that Logan wasn't aware of her until recently and I don't think she was sired in the traditional way,” Lorna replied, a bit helplessly. She didn't have any answers in that regard and probably wouldn't have even known about Faith's existence except that someone with that much metal in their body literally screamed “look at me!” to Lorna. It was like there were suddenly two large metal blips on her magnetic radar so she'd gone looking for answers.
“All I do know is that she's really withdrawn and hasn't really talked to anyone but Logan and maybe Jean,” she added. In fact, she reminded Lorna a lot of Laura herself in that she was always perfectly expressionless the few times that Lorna had seen her.
“Are you staying for a while this time?” Lorna added, curiously.

Laura wondered what else to say to her, the emotions that she felt raging within her own mind were many and varied. Lorna was easy to read and she didn't feel much other than honest happiness or at least contentment at talking to another person. It bothered Laura that someone could be so happy and open to others like this woman obviously was.
"Well then it seems I'll have to meet her." Laura told her as she looked at Lorna, she knew that this was not going to be a good meeting. At least the one between her and Faith. Laura had some social skills and she used them to her advantage like now, she knew that this was turning out rather well considering all the factors.
"That sounds about like someone from Weapon X." Laura told her calmly, she was slightly different from most in the program. She'd had to learn social skills in order to do some of the things they asked of her. She had also learned them while under Zebra Daddy, that was an interesting time in her life but she kept her face impassive.
"Hopefully for good." Laura told her honestly, wondering if this was going to be a good mmeeting or not. Right now it was all right and it was turning out rather well but all things considered it could take a turn quickly.

Lorna was blissfully unaware of just how unhappy she made Laura. If she'd known, she might have backed off or just simply walked away. She never wanted to make people uncomfortable and it would have made her question Xavier's choice as her for liaison between the X-Men and the New Mutants. Which would have been a blow to her self confidence, something that was on shaky grounds at the best of times.
When Laura said she'd have to meet Faith, the green haired mutant nodded. Whether it was a good meeting or bad, it would have to be done. They deserved to know each other as they both had Logan in common. Perhaps if he facilitated the meeting then things would go better. He'd certainly know if either or both girls was about to explode or something and he'd like be the only one who could survive if they started fighting. Lorna thought the Danger Room was probably the only room in the mansion that could hold up to such a meeting.
“I've heard some of the others saying that she did come from Weapon X and I know Logan's been on edge ever since. Maybe he's expecting an attack on the mansion or something,” she replied. Obviously she had no idea the full story of it all and was just passing along what little information she did have to Laura.
“Good,” she added with a smile as Laura said she'd be staying this time, hopefully for good. “I am glad that you decided to come back, Laura.” And she was.
