Alex walked down to the swimming pool and stripped off into a pair of dark blue shorts and jumped into the water, even though it was in the winter it didn’t bother him, he had been going to outdoor swimming pools in Alaska in his late teens and early 20’s to work out, the fact that it was a little cold or icy wouldn’t bother him, just so long as the fact that the pool was insulated that was the main thing, after Scott had told him that the pool had been insulated not long after he had arrived at the school there had been very little that anyone could do to keep the younger Summers away from the water. He knew that a lot of people would see him as crazy for being out in that cold in the state of undress that he was. Scott had done on more than one occasion but Alex didn’t care, it allowed him to stay in shape and also allowed him to have a relaxing time when there was not that many people around.
Alex had joked with Scott that it had been the stupid decision to swim in the winter as Scott had put it, that allowed Alex to look how he did, he knew that he was not overly muscular but he was in shape, which had been what he had been going for when he had been swimming, it kept him in shape and didn’t make him overly muscular or too thin because of the amount he ate, it gave him the physique he wanted. Smirking to himself he began to swim lengths of the pool.

Faith had heard that there was a pool on the grounds, and she had always enjoyed swimming. She found it to be good exercise, and strangely she had an afternoon free. Which was unusual for her father had been wanting to have her train nearly all day, and she thought that perhaps a nice swim will do her good. Never mind that a normal person would end up a popsicle when they dive into the water, she finds that it helps cool her anger and she is able to be in more control of herself.
As she approached the pool, her senses picked up that she was no longer alone. She sighed as she thought there goes her solitary afternoon. However then need for an ice cold swim outweighed her need for some time alone. So as she approached the man made body of water, she tried to calm herself from being disappointed at not getting the pool to herself. She walked up to the edge of the pool, looked in toward the bottom, and then went over to a lounge chair.
She quickly stripped her clothes to reveal a bikini that did not leave much to the imagination, but wasn’t too revealing either. The cold didn’t bother her and she approached the deep end of the pool, nodding to the other person there. She took a few deep calming breaths knowing that once she jumps in, she would be at the bottom for a while. She blamed her adamantium skeleton on that one. She jumped in, and sank straight to the bottom of the pool. She stayed down there longer than a normal person would, before pushing herself up to the surface. She had to work harder than someone who wasn’t weighted down with a metal alloy grafted to their skeletons.
”Nice warm day for a swim.” Faith commented a little sarcastically, and knew she wouldn’t get cold.

Alex was starting to pick up speed as he swam, he knew that some people would tire the more that they swam but Alex was the opposite, now he was starting to pick up momentum and swimming the lengths faster, Alex had always been good at swimming and on the track. It was something that Alex liked doing, in short he liked winning therefore any chance he got to win, he took it. Hence why his training sessions with Scott turned into fights most of the time seeing who was better. Normally Scott won but he always told Alex he was improving almost like he was surprised to have won the battle between the two.
Alex looked up to see someone else getting into the water, they looked to have on a small bikini that did the job it was designed for, however did make her look like it didn’t cover he body the right way. Alex shrugged and kept swimming he knew that some swimming costumes where more revealing than others.
”Nice warm day for a swim.” She said and Alex knew there was sarcasm in the statement.
“I suppose,” he said not breaking stroke “ but living in Alaska you get use to it.”

Faith started to tread water in the deep end, staying out of this guy’s way. She couldn’t help but noticed that he wasn’t fast, but something told her that he was using his power for this exercise. Well, she had planned on staying in the pool as long as she can. And that could be a while, she is after all her father’s daughter. One of the benefits of that was not feeling the cold even when she wasn’t wearing anything besides her birthday suit. So right now, the water maybe freezing to someone unlike her but she doesn’t feel the temperature against her skin.
”I suppose, but living in Alaska you get used to it.”
She continued to tread water, just relaxing from the repetitive motions that it provided. Granted this was the first swimwear she had ever owned, and she truly did not know what she was doing when she picked it up. She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned living in Alaska, but didn’t do anything else. ”Well, I wouldn’t know about living in Alaska. But being who I am, it just doesn’t bother me.” She responded with a small, sad grin.

Alex hadn’t really paid much attention to the girl to be fair as he hadn’t wanted to stop his training and would much rather talk to her once he had been done with his training. Not that he had wanted to be rude but the faster he could get done with his training the happier he would have been so therefore he was going to work out as fast as he could. He had been preparing himself to push off again to swim another length of the pool when she spoke.
”Well, I wouldn’t know about living in Alaska. But being who I am, it just doesn’t bother me.” She said, Alex stopped for a second at this, he didn’t know her that well but the way that she had said it made him interested, he wanted to know why who she was effected why the cold wouldn’t bother her. “and who are you exactly?” he asked.

As the guy didn’t pay her much attention, she wasn’t really paying him any mind either. Her mind of course had traveled down memory lane, and to a time when she was really young. The scientists at Weapon X wanted to see if she had gotten all of Wolverine’s abilities, and thus they striped her bare and dropped her off in Newfoundland and Labrador province of Canada. She was of course kept isolated from the other residents of the province, and was made to sleep there overnight. She of course survived, and wasn’t affected by the subarctic temperatures very much like her father.
”and who are you exactly?”
She paused in her trending just long enough for her to sink below the surface and back toward the bottom. She pushed herself back toward the surface and air, before return to treading water. She spitted out the water that she had managed to get into her mouth, and looked at him. She didn’t know him well, but it didn’t surprise her that he didn’t know about her. Heck, most of the other students at the school didn’t know who she was either. Not that she minded, but when someone came out directly and asked her who she was she didn’t know what to tell them. Well she knew she was Logan’s daughter, he even admitted it to her that he was proud she was. ”I’m Logan’s daughter.” She answered him, hoping it was fine with her father that she admitted that the two of them are related in that manner.

Alex watched as the girl seemed to fall under the water before she rose back up to the surface and spat the water out, feeling sorry for her Alex swam closer to her so that she could hold onto him if it happened that she fell under the water again, not that it was actually going to happen, however if it did happen she would then have someone to hold on to.
”I’m Logan’s daughter.” She answered him. That had not been what Alex had been expecting, sure he guessed that there was something to do with her powers as to why she couldn’t swim all too great but he hadn’t expected her to be the daughter of logan. Of course he didn’t want to think about Scott multiplying let alone Logan so it wasn’t something that he had given much thought to.
“Do you have the same powers?” he asked “from what Scott has told me, you shouldn’t be swimming if you do,”

Faith made an effort to remember to continue to tread the water around her. She watched him, ever conscious of him and his movements. She watched him swim closer to her, and her body prepared itself for a confrontation. All out of habit, and she of course involuntarily growled softly, in a warning, before she could stop herself. She didn’t know the guy, but she knew that no one was going to hurt her here. She had to consistently remind herself that she was now safe…
”Do you have the same powers? from what Scott has told me, you shouldn’t be swimming if you do,”
Again, his question caught her off guard. And once more, she began to fall under the surfaces. She rolled her eyes as she thought that this was getting tiresome, and before she could correct the situation she had hit the bottom. She was of course grateful that she had managed to take a deep breath before going under, so that she was of course good for air for a bit. She then began to walk her way toward the shallow end, and when her head broke the surface again she turned to face him. ”Yeah, same powers with a few genetically thrown in. And what do you mean I shouldn’t be swimming?” She finally asked him once she caught her breath.
Faith started to notice that this conversation was starting to make her a bit upset, and angry. It seemed that his questions were gearing her toward her past, and memories started to flash through her mind. The ice cold water was no longer starting to help her…

Alex could see that he could possibly have offended the young woman but all he had been meaning by it was if she had bone or adamantium claws like her father, from what Scott had told him it would make her body a lot more dense, therefore she would be more prone to sinking to the bottom of the pool, like she had done a couple of times now before she had pulled herself up.
“I was meaning because of your skeletons density.” He said “would it not make it problematic for you to swim, I don’t mean it in a bad way more do you need help?”

Faith waited for his answer to his question, and her mind semi-wondered. It may looked like she wasn’t paying attention, but she was actually. She knew how to swim or else she would have been put down a long time ago. She remembered how she was ‘taught’ to swim, and she seemed to only get more angrier at it. Those people are going to pay for what they did to her, and no one was going to stop her…
”I was meaning because of your skeletons density. would it not make it problematic for you to swim, I don’t mean it in a bad way more do you need help?”
Her breathing got erratic as her temper started to flare. It was directed at him, but at the people that raised her. Her fists clenched in the water, and she felt her claws extend. ”I know how to swim…I just have to work harder at it…” She told him through clenched teeth, and worked to reel her temper back under control. She slowly brought her claws back in, and closed her eyes to push her temper back.

Her fists clenched in the water, and she felt her claws extend. ”I know how to swim…I just have to work harder at it…” She told him through clenched teeth. ‘Great’ Alex thought sighing to himself he had been genuinely concerned with the young girl’s safety and he had ended up insulting and offending her by the looks of things, not that he had intended to do that but it looked like that had been the outcome, whether he had wanted that to be the case or not that had been what the outcome was going to be.
“I didn’t mean to suggest that you couldn’t swim,” he told her “just that I didn’t want you to cause yourself injury while I am here both for you and for me, firstly I don’t know cpr or anything so I wouldn’t be able to help you, secondly I wouldn’t want to get in trouble for not making sure you where ok in the water.”

Faith breathed deeply, in an attempt to control her temper. It was of course working, but not a well as it should have been. Something was keeping her from calming down, and she needed to find that something and quick. If she didn’t then there was going to be a whole new set of problems for her, and she didn’t need any more problems. It seemed that her senses and body was telling her that something was wrong, but she didn’t know what it was. She didn’t hear, smell, or see anyone or anything that should be there nearby. So what was wrong with her? Perhaps her father would know, but he wasn’t there and she didn’t know if she could describe it to him.
“I didn’t mean to suggest that you couldn’t swim, just that I didn’t want you to cause yourself injury while I am here both for you and for me, firstly I don’t know cpr or anything so I wouldn’t be able to help you, secondly I wouldn’t want to get in trouble for not making sure you where ok in the water.”
She snapped her eyes back to him, anger and the animal still lapping in them. She wasn’t angry at him, as she knew he had nothing to do with her life. She had only just met him, but still something was preventing her from calming down. And if anyone knew her father, then they should know that it could be a very dangerous thing for her to lose control as she is on verge of doing. Or fighting to keep. ”Just what do you know about my father’s powers?” She asked him, still not sure if she should stay or leave before she caused him some harm.

”Just what do you know about my father’s powers?” She asked him, ok so she wasn’t ripping his spleen out to jump rope with it, Alex thought to himself, however it was obvious that she wasn’t in the best mood right now and it could have caused harm to him, not that it was possibly going to happen that she killed him but he could tell that she wasn’t in the best mood, something that Scott had told him about her father, it was scary how much the girl was like the man Scott had told him about.
“My brother knows your dad.” He said truthfully, “my brother is Scott Summers, the leader of the X men, he filled me in on a lot of the people here, so that way I didn’t offend them or confuse them for someone else, so are you new around here?”

Faith felt her teeth grind and her fist clench even tighter as something was telling her that there was something off around her. That much she knew, but she can’t distinguish what it is that is causing her to be on edge. She could feel the hairs on her arms stand on their ends, and her heart rate steadily increase. She was steadily getting agitated and this was not good. Not good at all. She needed to calm down, and calm down now.
”My brother knows your dad. My brother is Scott Summers, the leader of the X men, he filled me in on a lot of the people here, so that way I didn’t offend them or confuse them for someone else, so are you new around here?”
Her breathing became shallow, and her chest heaved. Why was she having a hard time calming down? Where was Chris or her father? She did not want to hurt this guy, but if she didn’t do something soon she just might. ”Only been here for a few weeks…” Her fists opened an closed as she answered him through clenched teeth. ”Listen, you didn’t do anything wrong. I just can’t seem to calm down… So I wouldn’t blame you if you think it would be safest for you to retreat. Just don’t make any sudden movements if you do…” She added for his benefit, and hoped he would do the right thing and retreat. Perhaps get her father or someone to help her…

Alex felt insulted when she pretty much told him to leave, after all he had been in the pool first, secondly he had only been concerned with her safety and she had begun growling at him, again it wasn’t like he had been trying to insult her, she had just taken it as an insult which he found a little weird, then again he didn’t know the girl that well so it wasn’t his place to judge.
“Look.” He said shortly “I am not trying to anger you, if you wanna leave you are more than welcome to, but I am gonna stay here and swim like I had been before you turned up.”
