Faith of course couldn’t get any sleep after her talk with her father in the gym last night. She tried to get some rest, but she was just too frightened of her dreams. So instead, she stayed up and tried to work through her problems. Before she knew it, the sun had risen and she had gotten up. She threw on a set of borrowed clothes that she had found in a pile yesterday for her to wear until she could get some of her own. She then left her room, looking for Chris.
Her father had told her that she should talk to him, and she knew she would have to. That morning, she was not so close on the verge of losing her control that she feared she would accidentally hurt him. She then looked around the mansion looking for any sign of him, and when she didn’t she worried that he had broken his promise to her about not leaving. She practiced what she had learned last night, and then made her way to the lakeshore. She followed the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore and the smell of fresh water.
Faith stood at the shore, listening to the sounds of nature wondering where Chris had gone off to. Her nose periodically sniffed the air to see if anyone was coming, and strangely being out in the open didn’t affect her as much as if she was inside. Perhaps most of her life was spent locked up in a small living space that closely resembled a prison cell. She didn’t stand there long before she picked up a scent that she was very familiar with. ”I thought you had left, broken your promise. I’m glad you didn’t.” She greeted him without turning around.

Death spent most of the night up on top of the roof where Faith slept to make sure no one would harm her while she slept. Though he knew she went somewhere he wasn’t going to blindly follow her every time she would get out of bed. He knew that she could take care of herself; he was just more of watching over her as she was in her room. Throughout the night however he sat down on the roof in a meditative position and focused the dark matter around him. And for the entire night he stood in a bubble created out of the dark matter keeping him in peace. He mainly used it to calm him of the anger and blood lust that he accumulated over the years. And he realized when he slept and if he didn’t do this he would wake up in the middle of the night wanting to slaughter. So it became sort of a habit to try and calm him of such emotions while he slept. And it usually worked as long no one really disturbed him while he was doing so. Death even remembered one incident where a woman in Britain happened to come across his ball. She awoke him too soon and he went on a rampage, however he didn’t hurt the women or anyone else seeing as they were in the forest at the time.
After waking from his meditative state the black bubble disintegrated back into his body as he looked around his surroundings. It was still dawn and the light was barely visible but created an orange hue over the horizon. Death stood up and looked over the edge of the roof and wondered what to do while he was here. He made a promise of course to Faith that he wouldn’t leave and go off to fight Weapon X without talking to her and such. That was fine and all to him, but he never truly stayed in one spot before and it kind of was getting to him. Though the mansion was big and it didn’t seem hard enough to find something to do. Pulling out the dark matter inside of him he made his usual cloak and hovered off the roof to the ground below. His red eyes shined from the shadow that the hood of the cloak made, as he kept on walking around.
He wondered what to do and finally saw a lake that seemed a bit quiet and out of range from the rest of the students if they were even up at that hour. While walking there he saw girl there, and once somewhat approaching he noticed it was Faith. He lowered his bandages from his nose and mouth as she told him that she thought he left and broke his promise to her. Death simply walked up to her and hugged her from behind placing his forehead on the back of her head. “You know I wouldn’t do that to you Faith, I care about you too much to even think about doing so. Now that I found you I don’t want to leave your side just yet you know”. His British accent sort of showing now.

Faith felt him approach her, and smiled at the closeness of him to her. Already she felt the anger just wash away from her, and knew that she had found peace once again. This time, she didn’t have to mediate or picture her father to feel the peace. She could feel him need to leave, and track down Weapon X. She had that need as well, but she was willing to better herself so that she could be a better combatant in the upcoming fight. She of course was going to make sure that Chris was safe when he went, so that she can take any radiation and electrical attacks that would be meant for him. She could take that, but she knew he couldn’t.
”You know I wouldn’t do that you Faith, I care about you too much to even think about doing so. Now that I found you I don’t want to leave your side just yet you know”
She heard his British accent and smiled. So she had known where he had been staying. She felt his forehead against the back of her head and his arms around her in a hug. She turned around and faced him before wrapping her own arms around him. She stood there for a moment just soaking in his presence. She was very happy to have him with her again. She took a deep breath and sniffed in his unique scent that was now forever tinted with dark matter. She didn’t care, as it wouldn’t hurt her. He was still her Chris.
”I know, Chris. I care about you too. I know you are anxious to go after those bastards at Weapon X, but I had a talk with my father last night. I know I’m not quite ready to battle them effectively. My anger is just too close to the surface, and if I lose it then we lost the battle.” Faith told him, and knew he wouldn’t like the idea of waiting for her to train and get ready for the upcoming battle. She hoped that he would understand this, and would wait for her to get ready.
She then looked up into his face, more importantly into his red eyes. She needed to know something, and hoped that he wouldn’t think it rude of her to ask him. ”Why do you pretend to be mute? You have a handsome voice…” She asked him and touched her hand to his cheek tenderly, wanting to know the answer to her question. She even wondered what he had found out about Weapon X since he had escaped…

Death watched as Faith turned around towards him and wrapped her arms around him in the same manner he did to her. She had a wonderful smile on her face that put one on his, and while they stood there he soaked in her beauty as he knew she was soaking in his presence there. He cared for her a lot and finding her has brought him happiness that he hadn’t had for years. Death then watched as she sniffed lightly and took in his scent. He wondered if she could smell the dark matter, but it seemed if she did she didn’t care. All she cared about was the moment they were sharing, and to be honest so was he, at that moment he didn’t care of Weapon X. All he cared was that they were having there happy moment together and nothing could really take that from them.
He then listened to her as she told him she cared for him too and she knew he was anxious to go after Weapon X and there people. She then continued to tell him that she had a talk with her father and she wasn’t quite ready for the battle yet. Telling him that her anger was too close to the surface and if she lost it during the battle the battle would be lost. Death knew that Faith knew he didn’t like the idea of training while those bastards where getting away with what they were doing. But he sucked it up for Faith; he’d wait in till she felt she was ready for the fight. He knew that a prepared fight however was a better one so he was happy that she decided to train for a little while. “Don’t worry Faith I understand why you need to train. I’ll wait in till the day you feel as if you are ready to go into battle and I will be there with you no matter what” he told her with a smile.
Death looked at her as she looked into his red eye as she asked him question that he didn’t think she would ask. “I’m not pretending Faith I really am mute, it’s just that you’re the only one that can bring me to talk at all. I haven’t talked for years Faith, in till yesterday I never spoken to anyone and for the reason, I decided not to talk to anyone anymore. I decided that my powers would do the talking for me”. The true reason however he didn’t know, it was locked away in his head somewhere where he couldn’t find it and most likely didn’t want to.

Faith was actually relieved that he will wait until she was ready to go after their targets. She smiled as he would be there at her side during the fighting, and what better way to shock them into silence than two of their most prized assets and one of their more dangerous escapees at their side. She was certain that they will be unstoppable, and that brought an even brighter smile to her lips. She knew that she had two people looking out for her, and that is two more than she had two days ago.
”I’m not pretending Faith I really am mute, it’s just that you’re the only one that can bring me to talk at all. I haven’t talked for years Faith, in till yesterday I never spoken to anyone and for the reason, I decided not to talk to anyone anymore. I decided that my powers would do the talking for me”
She felt her heart skip a few beats at what he told her. If she was the only one who would ever hear his voice, then she will just have to accept that. However, she knew that the reason he gave her was not completely true and wondered if he even knew the reason for it. She removed her hand from his cheek and then laid her head on his chest. She stayed that way just listening carefully to his heart beat under his gauze bandages. Her senses soaking in everything about him, and she committed it all to memory.
”I want to know everything that had happened since you were taken away. I have until eleven-thirty, and then I have to meet my dad for our first training session.” Faith told him, wanting to know what he had been up to and how he has been before yesterday. She knew he had purposely set it at that time so that she can talk with Chris. And if he had any questions for her, she would gladly answer them. She then wondered if he would age, unlike her who they had forced her to stop aging just before her last birthday…

Death looked to her smile and knew it was about her and him fighting Weapon X together as an unstoppable force. It was what they always dreamed about when they were kids and now it was finally coming true. They together were going to bring down the people that brought pain and misery to their lives. But in the end he actually wanted to thank them, because if it wasn’t for their evil ways he wouldn’t have met Faith. She wouldn’t have been conceived and he wouldn’t be able to do what he’s doing right now. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to destroy and rip apart every last scientist and employ there. Oh no far from that. Death however was grateful because in the end he got to meet a wonderful girl that he cared for.
As he felt then that she laid her head on his chest he knew she was listening into his heartbeat and taking everything about him in. He smiled at the thought and hugged her a bit tighter not really wanting to let her go. But then he heard her ask him a question of what had happen since he was taking away and that her father gave her sometime before the training session started. Death breathed in a bit remembering the things that had happened to him that fateful day. It wasn’t one hundred percent clear, but he remembered most of it. “Well After the fusion process I didn’t know where I was for a while; to be honest it felt like I was an empty husk. I didn’t eat I just fought, killed, did what they wanted me to do for a while. I was in pain for a while too, like my skin was burning my alive, I later found out that it was the dark matter in me that was doing that. It was slowing down my aging process and was changing how my body functioned and looked” he told her.
Death couldn’t help it but he started to trail off down memory lane of what he went through back at the Weapon X facility. He remembered being in a dark room with no lighting for days feeling the dark matter crawl through his skin like a parasite. “But then one day I couldn’t take it one day and I snapped forcing my way out. I just wanted out and I finally did it, I made it but badly wounded electrocuting me to the point where the gashes they gave me wouldn’t heal as fast as the dark matter could. I walked bleeding black blood for mile before the X-men found me and kept me bandaged up enough in till the healing effects of the dark matter kicked in again. After that I left wondering around, I didn’t remember much and decided to move to Britain, I didn’t want to be here anymore. Then I started to remember and I came back down here to do what I set out to do”. Death stroked her hair back as he talked and looked into her eyes a bit.
“What about you Faith I know it must have been hell in there but what where you doing before yesterday, but if it gets you angry it’s ok you don’t have to say it”. Death wanted to know what happened to her when he left, and he knew it would get them both upset. But he had to know, he had to so he knew who to take out his anger out when they fought Weapon X.

When he talked, she closed her eyes and pictured her father. Her anger was dangerously close to the surface. She knew he didn’t want to let her go, and she couldn’t blame him. She didn’t want to let him go either. However, like she found last night her anger and animal bowed to the imagine of her father. Like it knew that he was something not to be trifled with. She felt his hand stroke her hair, like he used to do when he found her crying and bleeding profusely on the floor. She continued to meet his eyes, and understood him completely. She didn’t know if she could thank those heartless bastards for giving her a chance to meet Chris, but she knew she wouldn’t have one problem tearing and ripping them to shreds.
“What about you Faith I know it must have been hell in there but what where you doing before yesterday, but if it gets you angry it’s ok you don’t have to say it”
But the thing was that Faith wanted to talk about it. She knew that she was going to have to work extra hard on the techniques that her father taught her last night to keep her anger under control, and hoped that with Chris there, it wouldn’t be quite so hard. So she mediated, and soon found her inner peace. When she opened her eyes, he would have know that she had found it. ”I heard them coming for you, I knew what they had planed on doing but I couldn’t stop them. Baptiste was sent in to keep me busy the whole time. I supposed they knew that if they didn’t, nothing would have stopped me from going through the walls to get to you. He had left me broken and bleeding on the floor again, and I couldn’t move for hours after that. It took my healing factor quite a while to catch up with those injures…”
She trailed off briefly in another attempt to get her animal under control again. ”When I was finally able to move, I didn’t know where you were any more. I couldn’t sleep, barely touched my food, and went after whoever they pointed me at with a vengeance. It wasn’t long after that day, that they forced the animal out of me. They told me that the other experiments had killed my father and I barely heard them mention you. I was so worked up in a frenzy that everyone was dead around within seconds of the experiment starting. I was too good for them, and they knew it. They even said I was ‘a terror to behold’ out on the battlefield. Ever since my feral animal has lived just below the surface. I was angry all the time, and eventually looked forward to Baptiste’s visits.”
Faith then looked up at him, surprised that tears were starting to trail down her cheeks. ”Then one day, he thought that I wasn’t learning the lesson that he was trying to teach me. He beat me the so bad that the other ones didn’t even compare to this one. But I was determined to not go down in defeat. Then the bastard mentioned that he was going to kill my father like he did my mother just so that I would fight him properly. I saw blood red, he unleashed my feral side. I decided to unleash his, and began to strike my claws together. We then got locked into battle, and he stabbed me pretty good with his claws. It finally ended when he pinned me against the wall, impaled himself and then me and I stabbed that bastard in the heart. I escaped from that place with the help of Venom. For the next couple off weeks, I’ve been in the city looking for my dad. Then someone told me about this place, and I made my way here.” She told him, as her body started to shake with the anger licking and lapping away from the inside.
She then closed her eyes, and tried to mediate once again to regain control. When that didn’t work she tried to think of her father and how he helped her last night. It helped somewhat, but it still boiled inside of her. She then thought of what else she could do to keep it hidden. If she lost control now, she could seriously end up hurting Chris. Then she tried for one last desperate measure. She lifted her face and closed in on his. She hoped that this would work, as it seemed when they almost had it yesterday nothing mattered but him and his safety. She had only wished that she would have kissed him before they took him away…

Before Faith told her story to him he noticed that she closed her eyes and started to breathe in lightly, he guessed to control her anger. But then Death saw her reopened her beautiful eyes and they had found a peaceful looking tone. He placed his hand on her cheek smiling for the inner peace she seemed to have found. It took him ages to be able to find a way to not slash at things, but she found it in no less than a day. He was happy for her and glad she did, now with her peaceful look she looked as beautiful as ever. But that peaceful moment turned to anger quickly when Faith started to tell him her story, it turned his mind inside out. Baptiste got away for his crimes that he committed towards Faith when he couldn’t remember at the time. But now he does, and he was going to make sure that he gets what’s coming to him. Death however knew that he was like Faith in every way in the sense that they have the same abilities as each other. However he doesn’t care he’ll find a way to reap his soul and take it to the underworld where he hopes it burns for all eternity.
But then Death notice that Faith had to trail off before continuing to gain control over her raging animal side that was coming out. She then continued on her story, Death felt responsible for leaving her in that hell alone. He blamed himself for the things she had to suffer while he was away; he had the power to free her. But thanks to that damned experiment he couldn’t remember anything that was around there, if he did he wouldn’t have hesitated no matter the cost. He wondered how there life would have been if he would have remembered Faith before his escape. Death wondered if they would have lived a happy life as fugitives of Weapon X. To him that would have been nice, but the reality of the situation was that it wasn’t and Weapon X is going to pay for what they did to her.
Then Death started to notice her tears trailing down her cheeks from the story she was telling him, he knew she was in much pain and torment of the memories. With his hands he used the bandages on them to cleanly wipe off the tears from her face. Her eyes was still watery, he felt terrible again that he couldn’t save her from that type of life. She mentioned the bastard Baptiste tormented her, telling her that he was going to kill her dad like he did her mother. Dark matter surrounded them again as it circled them quickly due to the anger rising in him. But what made it better was that she escaped him by stabbing in his heart, and it appeared someone inside the compound helped her? The name went by Venom, he wondered why he would have helped her, but he was grateful enough to forget about it. Death then felt her body start to shake from the anger, she was losing control of her anger and he hoped that he could do something to help her.
Death looked to Faith who was trying every method possible to control her anger was no avail as she passed through every method she knew. Looking down to her he noticed that she lifted up her face and started to close the distance between them. Death looked to her as his heart rate increased, he moved in to her as well. Eventually from what seemed like minutes instead of seconds he felt her lips touch his and they kissed. The dark matter started to calm around them going back into his body as he and her continued to kiss.

Faith felt her anger wanting to gain control of her, let her feral side out at the memory of what they had done to her without Chris there to ease the pain. They made him forget her, and to her that was not acceptable. They were going to know true terror…soon. She was going to show them that an raging animal is not as dangerous as a calm and calculating one. But she was going to have to work on that later. Right now she needed to get control of herself and soon, or she was going to hurt Chris. She was of course glad she had found her peace before telling him her story, for if she hadn’t she knew she wouldn’t be able to be this close to him keeping her claws in her forearms and out of him. She would have been much worse than what she was now.
She of course knew when his anger rose in him. She could smell it in his scent, hear his heart rate increase, and the dark matter wasn’t so subtle about it either. She knew that he could kill every living thing around them, but she also knew he wouldn’t hurt her. He would do anything he could to protect her. He had never told her that, but her heart knew ever since they were kids. If he didn’t, then he wouldn’t have risked both of their lives to come and see her in secret. And if she were to think upon that, he was the reason she didn’t give into their training of turning her into a soulless, careless killing machine. Someone had shown her that they cared about her, and that was enough to instill a moral sense in her of knowing what was right and wrong.
Then Faith had panicked when she couldn’t get enough back of her control to keep the animal locked away. Her father had told her that she would have to find out what worked when mediation and mental imagining failed. Well, she was trying to find out, but she doubt that this is what he had in mind when he said that. When his lips touched hers, she could feel herself just melt into him. She felt and sensed the angry dark matter calm and draw back into him, rather than saw it happening. She felt her anger melt away at the kiss, and felt her heart beating in her chest as if it wanted to pound directly out of it. After a few minutes of just kissing him, she pulled away. She no longer was just a poke away from going off on her own and slicing anything in her way. ”That was totally unexpected, but it worked…” She told him breathlessly as she returned her head to his chest. She didn’t want to let him go, know that she knew what she was missing.

Death knew that both his and Faiths anger stalked them like some predator after its prey, but in this case to make us cause destruction. It wanted us to go and kill and destroy everything we saw and bring destruction to the people who did this to us. Death however embraced this at one point, thinking it was the only way in life. However he wants to remain calm for Faith, he doesn’t want to give into his hatred now that he found her again. And it seemed one of her reasons to stay calm was the same as his, so she could be around him. But now it seems that they have some reasonable control over their anger and frustration.
From what he remembered from the facility at one point when he didn’t remember anything at all, he was turned into a monster. He would attack anything that came into his cell and anything that tried to talk to him he would laugh. But as his memories came back he slowly remembered where he was and what the people did there. He remembered what they did to him and what Weapon X stood for with all experiments. Then when he left and already to Britain, all he could do was sit down as the memories flushed back into his head. He remembered a lot by that point, he remembered the facility, some of the people there, including about Faith. Death couldn’t believe him to have forgotten her and thought her to be dead. Then he stopped, he was just a moving body with no soul to it, he just wondered around Britain in till finally he planned to get revenge on Weapon X.
While Death and Faith kissed, he didn’t want the moment to stop, he cared for her and they finally got to kiss each other. He regretted it back in the facility, he regretted that he never made a move to kiss her and he thought he lost that chance. Death knew her anger calmed down, he also listened into her heartbeat which was bumping fast. When they pulled away he looked to her with his eyes slightly wide, surprised the whole event. He heard what she said with a breathless tone, when she placed her head back on his chest. Death smiled at her kissing her head lightly keeping his head on hers and finally he found what he was missing. “I’m glad I found you again Faith, and I promise you that I will kill anyone who lays a finger on you” he told her kissing her head again.

Faith was totally calm, cool, and collected. Chris had done that for her, and knew that she had an another anchor in her life. But still when she didn’t trust herself to be around Chris, she still had her father and that was good enough for her. She didn’t want this moment to end, and knew that he most likely didn’t want that to happen either. She would be just content to stand there and let him hold her until she had to go meet her father for their first training session, and she doubt that he wouldn’t mind that plan either.
As she stood there, just drinking in his comfort her mind began to wonder about the person she had become since he was torn from her life. She really became anti-social and aggressive. She was timid and reluctant when she knew that Chris was waiting for her somewhere, but when she felt that he wasn’t… She wasn’t a very nice person anymore. She took her anger and frustration out on anything that got near her, and they finally wised up and only allowed Baptiste to handle her. And from there, came more intense beatings…
“I’m glad I found you again Faith, and I promise you that I will kill anyone who lays a finger on you”
Faith heard his promise and felt him kiss her head, and she smirked at the thought of his fierce protectiveness. She sighed contently, and snuggled closer to him. She knew that he knew she could take care of herself, but the two of them completed each other. He could protect her during an attack of some of her weaknesses, and she could do the same for him. ”And if anyone hurts you, they will know the true meaning of pain…” She promised him back with a tone that would scare the socks off of someone who wasn’t used to what they were used to.

Death looked to Faith as she was calmer than she ever was, well more ever then he could remember her. But even in that facility when he visited her in her cell, he could remember her having a sort of peaceful look. And in those times a peaceful look was something that was hard to come by, but she sometimes had one and she looked beautiful. She still looked beautiful, it’s just now it was better because they haven’t seen each other for years. But right now he didn’t want to think about the facility they were in. He didn’t want to think about the hatred and anger that burrowed deep within his heart and mind. All he wanted to do was spend the moment that he had with Faith properly, looking at her smile, her face. She was wonderful in the entire word, and he was glad to have her back to him in his arms.
He knew that both their lives ended similar in the sense they both lost their sense of humility and didn’t care about anything. Death knew that from what Faith told him because it was sort of similar on how he acted in Britain. He wouldn’t have cared for anything, killing anything in his path if anything dared to walk in front of him. The Irish gave him a name over there, made him into some sort of legendary monster or something. They called him ‘Bás an dorchadais’ and feared to go into the depths of the forests alone at night. It didn’t bother him seeing as they pretty much left him alone, and when in London they called him ‘The Dark Death’. Again he didn’t mind the names as long as they didn’t bother him or get in his way he was just fine.
Death of course knew she could take care of herself; she just got out of Weapon X practically by herself fighting her way through. And he knew that she would also protect him from certain dangers, though she knew he could take care of himself. To him it was more of completing each other type thing, as the both watched each other. He looked down to her as she told him that she would do the same and he smiled at her. “Together, you and me, there isn’t a force in the world that can stop us anymore” he told her smirking.

Faith remembered her first outside kill, and how her inner animal relished in the thrill of it. The human of in her cringed from, but she had been so angry for a few weeks prior to the assignment she didn’t know what to think at the time. She enjoyed the hunt, the chase, and the feel of her claws shredding flesh and bone. However when she got back to the facility, she didn’t like that feeling anymore. She was frightened of herself, and didn’t like that side of her very much. But what frightened her even more, was that a small part of her DID like it. That part couldn’t wait for it to happen again and again.
Before she knew what had happened, she has killed over 50 people. She had enjoyed it, and she even had made the news after her kills. She had been sent all over the world, and the different regions she had been in had their own names for her. She was told as a story to misbehaving children by their parents to keep them in line, and as a serious joke among the older kids to frightened the new ones in their cliques. Sometimes, they didn’t have a name for her… But she still didn’t like the feeling she got when she made it, and she soon grew tiresome of killing.
“Together, you and me, there isn’t a force in the world that can stop us anymore”
Faith looked up at him and smiled at his smirk. She knew he spoke the truth, but she also knew there was one person that could stop them. She had an appointment with that person, and if she was anything like him…he was a force not to be reckoned with. He could easily take both of them down with two swings. ”My father can.” She told him softly, not wanting to ruin the moment. But she somehow knew that she had…

As they held each other Faith seemed to answer his statement about them being unstoppable and no one being able to stop them. She answered with her father and he thought back to it, she was based off of the original Weapon X. The original from what he remembered obviously the original and stronger, quicker and all that. He wondered how he compared to Faith, if he was indeed stronger, faster, Death however knew he was. Faith wouldn’t just simply say her father was for nothing unless she had proof he was. But to Death he didn’t care, all he cared at the moment was Faith, and that she was going to be okay from now on. Her safety came first from now on, and he wondered how he could be her safe from Weapon X. Of course again he knew that she could take care of herself but then again, everyone has a weakness including him. Hence why he’s been looking for ways to, overcome his weaknesses so Weapon X couldn’t exploit them.
But little to Faiths knowing is that with in Death was a hunger, a hunger that Weapon X planted in him to crave. A hunger no matter how much he gains of it, it could never be satisfied and would always want more. It wasn’t a chip that gave him this hunger nor was it mental influencing, it was the Dark essence of the Dark Matter with in him. This hunger of course was subdued for a short time, but it’s not coming back. And the reason for its return his Deaths wanting to protect Faith, to protect her and make sure she will be alright.
This hunger was starting to show and the hunger that Death craved was power, unimaginable power that he wanted. His eyes glow a deep red as he continued to hug Faith not wanting to let her go, “I will make sure that no one harms you Faith. I will make sure to gain that power, and wipe away our enemies to the underworld”. Faith couldn’t have seen it, but on Death face for a few short seconds was a demonic looking smirk. His sharp teeth showed and if he could he would have laughed a bit, showing his hidden thirst for power.

Faith was surprised when he didn’t pull away, but instead continued to hold her. It was true that she was based off of the original Weapon X, but if she were to be like him she still had a lot of work to do. He was faster, stronger, and well, everything than her. She was just a kid compared to him, but she was always expected to be like him in Weapon X’s eyes. She was suppose to do what he wasn’t, be obedient. Well, she was more like him than they had hoped. Like her father, she was not obedient at all.
As they stood there, just holding one another, she sniffed the air. She took in the scents around her, and her hearing heard everything. She somehow picked up on a subtle hunger that she didn’t notice until then. She closed her eyes and sniffed again, trying to place the scent with any memory she may have of it. She then snapped her eyes open when the memory came to her. Power. Greed. Many of the people in her life had that scent when they looked at her and how well she developed, and now Chris has the same. She knew that he wasn’t telling her everything, and for once she truly didn’t want to know.
“I will make sure that no one harms you Faith. I will make sure to gain that power, and wipe away our enemies to the underworld”
Faith suddenly knew what that hunger scent was about. Her. She knew what would happen if he did go down that path, and she was for once truly frightened. She was scared that she would lose him permanently. Not like she had thought all those years ago, but this was different. She was terrified that she wouldn’t have her Chris back, and without her Chris life just seemed unbearable. ”Chris… Please, don’t… I don’t want to lose the boy who helped me through the rough times…” She attempted to plea with him, somehow knowing that he wouldn’t listen to her.
