Emma sat quietly for a moment before interjecting her own humble opinion. ”Whilst I agree the students are most certainly not capable of field missions I have to agree with the professor that they require training. After all what if there is another Alkali Lake incident?” Emma had not been at the lake but she knew enough about it to know that it had very nearly been a catastrophe, ”I am not suggesting that we turn these mere children into weapons but do you not agree it would be best for them to at least have some basic defence skills? After all we can’t possibly be there to protect them continuously, I for one agree that they should know what to do in an emergency.” Smiling to herself she began to muse, ”Think of it as a new kind of fire drill.”
Emma fell silent for another moment before quickly continuing where she had left off, ”Although Charles I have to agree with the others; the life of an X-man is simply too dangerous for most students. Even the most powerful here lack the experience to stay calm on the field. If the X-men are babysitting students on the battlefield then they can’t possibly be expected to perform to their best, having a student weekend by fear amongst us is a disaster waiting to happen. The last thing we want is someone getting hurt again like Amara.”

Logan sat in his room thinking of whether or not he should go to the meeting at Xavier's office. At this time to many things were playing in his head that it was difficult to see himself as a teacher here. From Faith to Weapon X he knew he wasn't going to be bale to stay here. And with that eventually leave the X-men to go deal with his personal problems. But of course Logan got up and started to head towards the office, if he was going to leave he was going to have to say it. Though he knew what half of there expressions would be, but it was going to have to be done. As he slowly walked towards the office his mind reverted back to his problems. His thoughts went to his daughter, and Weapon X trying to clone him more and more every day. How many where out there? How many where ready to fight on there behalf not knowing what they could do and the reason why they made them.
As Logan approached the office meeting, he could hear the commotion with in the room clearly. Something about training the students to become full X-men. The idea was sounded from where he was though that wasn't the point right now he supposed. Logan smelled the scents of about a couple teachers there. Emma, Jean, Scott, Lorna, and Charles of course. He than walked to the door and opened it looking inside the room quickly. Slowly he went to the wall on the left side and leaned up against it folding his arms. He gave a look that told them that he already knew what they were talking about. No point in repeating something that he already over heard half-way down the hall was it?

“Thank you,” she replied to Scott when he congratulated her.
She knew him about as well as anyone who wasn't Jean or Charles could know the man, basically by virtue of her past relationship with his wife. He was a good man, a hard worker and he cared about the students and the rest of the X-Men, even if he didn't always show it. She trusted Scott with her very life and was happy to back him up on missions. She even had to hold back a small smile as he reached over and grabbed Jean's hand. As much as she didn't trust the other woman, she wanted to see their relationship work.
Charles started to talk then, telling them that he was interested in bringing up more of the students into the ranks of the actual X-Men. She frowned but let the others say their peace first. It made her a bit uncomfortable that this was a meeting for the faculty yet they were discussing X-Men issues instead, without the rest of the team present. She'd been a member of the team for two years now, was used to working within the network of the group and if she'd not been invited to this meeting, she'd have been pissed.
“There are over twenty active X-Men currently. That is plenty to split the team into two groups and I agree with Emma's thinking. Taking power sets and experience into consideration would be the best bet. We have three telepaths in our rankings, not including you, Professor. Setting all three on one team would be a bit ridiculous and things like that. I don't see why we need to bring any more students up at this point,” she told them.
“As for the students themselves, why not work on a similar system with them? Break them into squads for training, use the students to determine leaders within their own squads, sort of like how Scott and Bobby could be for the X-Men. Appoint the appropriate number of staff to be their advisors, one per squad. Allow them to get that sort of experience before just throwing them onto the senior team and trying to make heroes out of them. I doubt they all want to be X-Men when they grow up,” she added with a bit of a smile.
Lorna both felt and heard Logan walk into the room. She nodded to him in acknowledgement before turning her attention back to the Professor. Wolverine was one of those people that she could sense from a small distance without having to actually see them. The metal that coated his bones was to thank for that.

Xavier smiled at Scott's comment. "i am glad you think like that Scott. Thats why i am giving you final say on who is on the team. I want you to have a more active roll in running and arranging the x men Thats why i am handing full control of the x-men to you. I am not as young as i use to be and i know you are the man for the job. My place is here running the school helping others develop and control there power.
I don't think all the students should be x men but some with the right guidance could make a different to this world Scott and i want you to help shape them. I don't want any one to get hurt but we need to be ready for what will come and i want to know if we have to get the students out we can."
Xavier smiled, he knew this was going to be hard. " You are all right. Now the question remains who will be the teams i want one of the teams to go in to the public light. We need to show the world that we are here to help them and protect them. That we are not a threat to the world."

Scott congratulated Lorna and Jean knew that he meant it. No, she hadn't been there for years upon years like some of them had but she wasn't too much younger then they were and she had a decent head on her shoulders. She also genuinely enjoyed working with the students so Jean felt she was definitely a great choice for what Charles had planned for her.
Scott's hand came to a rest on her own and while her first instinct was to pull away, to create as much distance between them as possible, she resisted. Jean knew she wasn't being fair to him, hadn't been since she'd come back but she didn't trust herself. She couldn't get close to any of them, especially him, in case she lost her mind again. It wasn't fair to him and after attempting to kill him once, she didn't want to think what could happen if she lost control.
They discussed the teams, several good points being made and she felt Logan enter the room without even turning to look at him. Involuntarily, she stiffened slightly. Jean hadn't talked to him since their disagreement (is that what it had been?) regarding his daughter. She wasn't a fan of being dissed, especially when she knew she was right. It took all her willpower not to turn and look at him, a battle that she totally lost. With a glance back, she watched him settle against the wall, his favorite place in meetings.
Turning her attention back to Charles, she continued to sit there and listen but her mind was only half there now. She listened to Lorna's point and couldn't be quiet at that. "Two," she said quietly but loud enough for the others in the room to hear. "There are two telepaths, Betsy and Emma. I am...I'm not ready to rejoin the team." She wasn't even comfortable training with them at this point. Things were still too unstable for her liking.
That was when the man she'd always thought of as a father figure dropped another little bomb. “What?” she asked, stunned. “You want to go public now? I understand the need to prove that not all mutants are bad but this is a bit much, don't you think? Especially after what happened at...at...” she couldn't even say it. The events at Alcatraz still haunted her more then anyone in the room would ever understand.

Scott sighed, he knew that eventually he would take over the complete running of the X men, as Charles said he wasn’t as young as he use to be but at the same time Scott knew that it was a big job. Even when Charles was involved it took a lot of them to organise things, now Scott was getting more to do as well as trying to repair the damage to his marriage to Jean. Not that he didn’t love his wife but they seemingly couldn’t get away from the fact that she nearly killed him. He had wanted to move past it but she seemingly couldn’t with the fact that she was guilty. Scott had told his wife on more than one occasion that he didn’t blame her as she had found out it wasn’t something that she had been in control of. Not that it made it easier but it had made it easier to forgive on his part.
“Thank you, I won’t let you down” he said kindly to Charles, then he sighed and looked at his wife, he knew that she would understand how much this meant to him, however at the same time it meant that he couldn’t do as much with her because of the fact he wouldn’t be free as much. Couple that with the fact that their relationship was currently strained at best and it wasn’t something that Scott wanted to greater damage with the fact he wanted to further his standing as leader. He wanted to resolve his marriage issues first and then he could focus better on the X men.
“I actually wanted to take time out,” he said “I was considering taking Jean away for a weekend, after what happened... we need some time to ourselves Charles, I understand if you want to hand the leadership to someone else for the time being or permanently but I will always put my wife before a position of power.”
Then he was stunned when Charles mentioned going public, after what had happened to them over the years he was astounded at what the man wanted. At what he had been through, what Bobby and some of the others had to put up with during their childhood Charles seemed to think that things would be different now. Magneto had destroyed any chance of that, mutants had been able to live peacefully before magneto got involved. Hell beast had been working for the government under more peaceful presidents, all it took was for a mutant hater to get into office and the mutant race was majorly screwed.
“With all due respect have you lost your freaking mind?!” Scott said “after the events of Alcatraz you are lucky if a president looking to hold onto his job will listen to you for two minutes with the amount of mutant haters in government, after what we have gone through as a team and a family, the injured members and the members that we have lost, you want to put us all in danger for something that you want. I will not allow you to do it Charles. It is suicide for us, you are giving mutant haters the prime opportunity to attack us, pretty much putting an X on their map.”
Scott hadn’t wanted to argue with Charles but it just felt like everything had just come out of him like a rush of anger and worry, he was just putting his fears for the others at the front of his mind, the humans would possibly see them as an army, when they where nothing of the sort, they where a school first and foremost.
“Any other ideas for this meeting?” he said looking around the room, “how about we go and dig up Hitler and see if Beast can resurrect him, I am sure that the government would love that idea also.”

Scott was handed the complete and full training of the teams, both X-Men and New Mutants and while Lorna couldn't disagree that he was the best choice for the job, it just seemed massive for one man to try and do alone. She knew him well enough to know that he'd definitely try to do it all alone, too. Hopefully, he'd realize that he needed help with something that large and would ask others to step it up as well. If she'd not just accepted the liaison position, she would have asked him what she could do to help him out.
And apparently, Scott already had other ideas. He informed the Professor that he wanted to take Jean away for a small vacation, to work on their relationship. While she commended him for that, for wanting to put his marriage back on track, the fact is that the woman had tried to kill him once and for a long time, they all thought she'd succeeded. Why he'd want to be alone with her, away from anyone else that could help him should she go psycho again, was beyond Lorna but she kept quiet about it. Maybe the Professor would just tell him no.
As the Professor dropped the bomb on their heads that he wanted one of the teams to go public, she couldn't help but gape at the man. When had being a mutant in public ever been a good idea? Yes, Hank pulled it off because of his intelligence and they did have a president who was sympathetic to their plight but the public at large still mostly feared them and fear made people do bad things. They had a school and children to protect. The kids came there for training and to get away from the persecution. Not to be thrust into the limelight. Some of them had such fragile egos still and this could likely push them over the edge.
“I'm sorry, Professor but I have to agree with the others. We don't need that sort of publicity now, not when the school is finally reforming and things are quiet. We've been attacked here before and who is to say that thrusting us into the limelight won't just bring about another attack. It might not be Striker but there are plenty of others out there who'd love to get their hands on the kids or simply just see us all destroyed,” she put in her own two cents worth.

"Scott i would be disappointed if you did not want to save your marriage thats why i have all ready arrange cover for both of you. so you are both free to leave when ever you see fit. As for Going public there will never be a good time. We will always be facing a threat, I never hid it from you that it would be one of the next steps. I am not talking today or tomorrow but slowly we will be working towards it.
WE need to sort out the teams and who will be training to be x-men of course Scott will have final say on this but i would like every one imput as i have become a bit distant from all teh students."

Scott was offered full control of the teams and Jean couldn't help but feel the pride swell within him. This was what he'd been trained for all these years and it was nice to see that training finally come to fruition. She gave the hand that was still holding her own a small squeeze and smiled at him. She could tell him congrats later.
However, when Scott mentioned that he wanted to take her away to work on their marriage, Jean looked at him with wide eyes, completely stunned and taken aback. She had absolutely no clue he was even thinking about that and she had several objections fly into her mind almost immediately. The first and foremost was the fact that she couldn't be trusted with him. What if it happened again? She honestly didn't really remember killing him before. Well, she did but she didn't recall doing it at that time. There was a gap there in her memories, almost as if she'd purposely blocked the horrors out and had hidden them away in some deep, dark secret place in her mind.
When Charles told him it was a good idea, her hopes that he'd not allow it or something vanished. She looked down at their hands, concern noticeably on her face. Jean couldn't help feeling that this was just not a very good idea but she didn't say anything. Not yet.
Then the focus was shifted to part of the team going public and her own concerns were echoed by the others. Especially by Scott. She could sense the confusion and then almost anger rise in him and she watched the reactions of the two men.
Charles went on to ask for input about the teams and like him, she'd been away too long only she had purposely distanced herself from everyone since she'd been back. So Jean remained quiet, simply sitting there, listening and trying to figure out if all of this was part of her punishment for what she'd done.
