The past few days had been a trial, to say the least, for Steve, from finding out that SHIELD was still attempting to make super soldiers, to discovering that there were still vampires roaming the world. He wanted to go after those monsters and exterminate all of them, but Nick Fury had basically forbidden him to participate in the upcoming fight, with Blade and the others, not bothering to tell him why, either. While he hated being left out in the dark, the soldier in him was to strong, so he obeyed the order, despite his own objections. He decided to head to Brooklyn, back to his old apartment, wanting to see if it was still standing.
Though he could have used one of the Avengers' "Quinjets", he thought that the subway would be a better choice, as he had wanted to ride one ever since he had first heard of them, shortly after being revived. He couldn't believe how many people were waiting to get on, as soon as he made his way down to the tunnels, and his disbelief grew even more, when he saw how small the cars were. I've seen buses bigger than these things! He shook his head, before deciding to step inside, not knowing that he was soon to be in for the fight of his life.

Carnage and Dr. Octopus decided that it was necessary to recruit for the upcoming war that was going to take place. The X-men were recruiting mutants wildly, and their army continued to grow because of Charles Xaviar. Carnage wanted that man to drown in his own blood, and he hoped someday, he would be the reason for Xaviar's demise. Carnage slung his red goo from building to building. There had been word that the super soldier, also known as "Captain America" had been spotted heading towards the subway. Carnage needed to eliminate him, because he believed Rogers would've became a nuisance in ruining their plans.
Slinging down the entrance to the subway, Carnage flew past the innocent civilians without harm. They weren't his main priority right then, because there was bigger fish to fry. Laughing madly as he reached the subway train that Steve Rogers was rumored to be on, he slung through the window, shattering the glass into thousands of pieces. Continuing to laugh like a psycho maniac, he released goo upon a woman's back and pulled her towards him. As Carnage held the woman with his left hand, he made his right hand into a red machete, which stood near the woman's throat. "SHOW YOURSELF STEVE ROGERS, OR ELSE YOU WILL HAVE THIS WOMAN'S DEATH ON YOUR CONSCIOUS" he yelled throughout the train as he laughed hideously.

At first, Steve didn't know what to make of this guy, swinging through a window like Spider-Man, though his laugh more reminded him of the Redskull, his old foe from WWII. This confusion was quickly replaced by anger, as Carnage threaten the young woman. "I don't know who or what you are Mister, but if you harm that girl, I'm going to make you regret being born." He looked his opponent up and down, studying the red goo that covered his entire body, looking for a weak point to strike, a way to separate him from his hostage while she was still alive. Unlike most of the 'heroes', Steve was a soldier, he didn't do what he did for personal glory, but to protect the world from monsters, and this thing was a monster if he had ever seen one.
His eyes narrowed, as they locked with those of his opponent's, his right hand reaching behind his back to retrieve his new shield, which was hidden in a secret pocket in his trench coat he was wearing. Knowing that he had to protect not only himself, but also the throngs of people pushing and shoving to get away from Carnage, most of them more familiar with the red villain than himself, he hesitated to throw it, but instead charged at Carnage. Holding the shield infront of himself, he launched himself forward like a living battering ram, not knowing exactly how strong this new opponent is, but not willing to let the hostage be harmed, either. He aimed his attack straight for Carnage's face.

Carnage double took the amount of people on board. People screamed and swarmed out of the subway car, like ants fleeing from an invader. Carnage could feel the woman's pulsating heart beat, as he had his hand upon her throat. The screaming woman agitated the symbiote, making Carnage scream loudly. "I don't know who or what you are Mister, but if you harm that girl, I'm going to make you regret being born." A man spoke, as his shiny adamantium shield was revealed. It was a concave disk, 2.5 feet in diameter, weighing 12 pounds. The man threw off his trench coat and also revealed his shiny blue tights. "So be it" he spoke laughing madly.
Carnage knew Captain America needed to be removed, because he knew he was completely dangerous. Suddenly, Captain America had charged with his shield full in front. Carnage grabbed the woman's back and threw her at the shield, making her go full face into it. She collapsed on the ground, unconscious. Laughing madly, Carnage attached his goo to the wall outside the subway train, and pulled himself out of another window shattering glass. Aiming both his hands upon the the subway cart, he released more red goo, receiving a grip on it. Carnage then pulled with all his might, making the subway cart pull over very quickly on its side. The car was turned on its side, upon the opposite tracks of the subway. From the distance, Carnage heard the other subway speeding in this direction. The other subway train would hit the subway car, that held the woman and Captain America in it, probably and hopefully killing them both. Carnage laughed madly as the train neared. "TIME TO MEET YOUR DEMISE" yelled Carnage as he continued to laugh evilly.
