The blond haired, blue eyed beauty sauntered onto the scene. The body was on the sidewalk, laying in a pool of blood. She approached the corpse, fighting her hunger back from the scent of the blood that seemed to overwhelm her. She had forgotten to grab something to eat before leaving for work, and she was of course paying for it now. She turned her head to hide the changing of her eyes, and the dropping of her fangs. She closed her mouth and her eyes as she fought to control herself. Once she was sure she was no longer about to get out of control, she returned her attention to the scene before her.
Ever since she had the battle with Deacon Frost, she had been having trouble remembering what she was trying to build here. He seemed to make her forget everything but her instincts, and that could of course prove fatal for the humans around her. She was of course upset that Tony Stark’s kid was put in the middle, but she couldn’t quite help the kid from coming to harm. Then there was the epic ending battle between her and Blade with La Magra. It was then that she had noticed that her and Blade had made a good team. However, she hasn’t seen the dhampir since that night and wondered when she would see him again.
Nichole shook her head to refocus herself onto the case in front of her. She noticed that the body was killed with a single knife wound straight to the heart. She sniffed the air and smelled a unique scent mingled with the dead body’s blood. She knew she had smelled the killer, and stood up. Her nose is telling her that the killer was still nearby, and she closed her eyes, and listened. She sorted out the heartbeats from her coworkers and that of the gathering crowd. She smiled when she heard a beating heart in the shadows. Without telling anyone, she went in and began to track the sound. When she was sure that the people behind her couldn’t hear her, she smirked as she tried to lure the killer out. ”I know you killed that man behind me. Now, I’ll give you the chance to come out peacefully or have me go after you. Oh, and you of course are under arrest.” She said, giving the person a chance to make this easy on them.

Desmond was busy for the past couple of days that has, well kept him from completing his training back at the mansion. The head Assassins over in Italy keeps him updated on the targets he was supposed to kill. It so happened that along with assignments he was to investigate someone, someone that lived passed there prime. That women was Nichole Knight, and throughout the Assassins history she seemed behind most events throughout the world. For the Assassins, they dealt with mysterious things, and for someone to live long isn't out of the question. However, behind the shadows she seemed to be involved in more and with that Desmond was to talk to her and find out what she knew.
The target to lure her out was a simple contract, one that easily was corrupted and dealing with the corrupt in the police. Was pretty easy to kill, he normally came out here to gather his payment for his 'deeds'. And surely enough Nichole Knight, as expected came forth and looked at the body. Desmond watched from the roof as she inspected the body in front of her and turned her head away. He found it weird for an investigator like her to see dead bodies everywhere to turn her head. Taking a mental note of it, he kept watched on her taking every little note on her. But before long she caught wind of him still being around the dead, and started to look for him. It of course didn't bother him, but with that he found out she had a good sense of smell or awareness of her surroundings.
She then eventually came down away from the rest of the police and spoke out to him. Desmond appeared behind her quickly, with the floor smoking a little from the heat friction of his speed. "Sorry to say mia dona, but I'm not going anywhere, for such a beautiful lady you have one odd profession, Nichole Knight".

Nichole was just about to fly up to the roof to where she had heard him waiting for her, but she didn’t have to do so. She heard him move behind her quickly. He was fast, but she was faster. She had almost eight centuries of practice, and she had been sticking to the most nutritious diet for her kind. So she was in the most fit shape for her kind. It was a lesson she had learned well during her time with her maker. She grinded her teeth as she thought of LaCroix, and knew that if she ever found him she would most likely stake him.
She smelled the smoke from the ground as she knew he was behind her. She heard him move, and knew that he wasn’t as stealthy as he thought. She smirked to herself, and wondered if she should show him what she can do. She started to quietly laugh to herself, as she knew that he would most likely be confused and beg for her to stop showing off. She eyed him up and down, as if she was trying to figure out what he was armed with and if any of the weapons were fatal to her. Most likely not, as vampires were not something that someone ran into everyday.
”Sorry to say mia dona, but I’m not going anywhere, for such a beautiful lady you have one odd profession, Nichole Knight”
Nichole raised an eyebrow, wondering how he knew her name. She mentally shrugged it off, and gave her predatory smile that she used to give her prey before she went in for the kill. Back when she used to hunt, when she was still young and didn’t know how to control herself. In less than a blink of an eye, she was behind him pinning his arms to his back. ”If you think homicide detective is odd, then you have been a domestic servant in a household of a very abusive but wealthy landowner of the 16th century.” She told him as she cuffed him, not thinking that she had perhaps gave him something he needed from her. She hoped that he would think her just a history buff.

Desmond watched as Nichole gave him a series of giving him looks that gave off what her intentions behind them where. Her first look told him she was searching for something on his person. And given her stance on the 'murder' just a few moments ago, must have been the weapon to do so. But both of the hidden blades where, well to be frank hidden well, the right one under the cap, and the other one up his sleeve. She then gave him another look, this one of a little how did you know, a look that he knew all to well of. It didn't surprise her that she wondered who he was or why he killed the man over there. Well at least he didn't think otherwise then that, seeing as she just confronted him.
But then after a millisecond she seemed to be behind him and cuffing him with great speed. Though he smirked about it, she was fast, he granted her that but he wasn't going to have a speeding contest. He'd one, might get hurt of over excessive use of the ability and could damage his body, next was that it wasn't the point to the situation at hand. So with out much thought he flicked his wrist a bit making the hidden blade come out for a quick second cutting the cuffs and letting him go. Then he disappeared and reappeared farther down from her as he looked to her with his hood still covering his face.
His smirk could be seen from under his hood as he folded his arms and raised a brow under the hood. "Grande velocità la mia signora, but I must say I did not come here to have a competition of speed with you. I must talk to you of your 'heritage', the order has been keeping an eye on you and now that we finally have a chance to talk we must".

Nichole was ready when he flicked his wrist and extended his hidden blade. It of course cut her hand open, but her body had healed rather quickly. She had her vampirism to thank for that. Then he disappeared and reappeared further down the alleyway from her. Although she did not lose track of where he was, she knew he was moving thanks to her heightened senses. Even his heartbeat gave him away as well as his unique blood scent that she now has filed away for future use.
She looked at him and resisted the urge to sneer at his smirk. She was getting rather fed up with others thinking that she was a child. She was old enough to be their ancestors, and her pride demanded that she gets the respect she deserved. Especially from mortal know-it-alls like the one before her. Instead of sneering, she clenched her fists and growled a warning growl. She was in no mood to play games, and she was of course hungry. If this killer didn’t watch himself, he would most likely end up as her next meal. His heartbeat reached her ears, and she could feel herself changing. She turned her face again and closed her eyes as she attempted to bring the vampire back under control.
"Grande velocità la mia signora, but I must say I did not come here to have a competition of speed with you. I must talk to you of your 'heritage', the order has been keeping an eye on you and now that we finally have a chance to talk we must"
Nichole heard him, but she was really busy trying to keep herself from sinking her fangs into his neck and draining him dry. He truly did not know what kind of game he was playing with her, and she was determined not to show him. ”L'alta velocità potrebbe essere la vostra, ma la resistenza è mia.” She lisped around her still extended fangs in perfect Italian. When she was sure that she didn’t feel the need to rip his throat out with her teeth, she returned her attention back to him. ”My ‘heritage’? I’ll tell you my ‘heritage’. I am the bastard daughter of a prostitute and a nobleman. I grew up in a brothel. That is my ‘heritage’. And what is this order of yours have to do with me?” She added a bit testy, as she always was when someone brought up her mortal past.

Desmond wasn't really aiming to cut her, though it wasn't unanticipated that he might have done so by accident. Though when he reappeared down the from her he thought to see at least blood drip from her hand. However what he saw wasn't all to surprising, her hand healed up right after the cut he gave her. It wasn't all to hard to but two to two together, however she didn't seem much of a mutant to her. Her past says otherwise, he was slowly getting her to reveal herself without even talking. Which was good, he didn't want to spend that much time away from his assignments and training then he had to. Then he heard her low growl that basically warned him to not mess with her. He didn't care for what she could do, she could have been able to rip the building in to. That wasn't going to stop him from accomplishing his mission, and her scare tactics weren't going to work with him.
Then she turned her face away from some odd reason, however she spoke in Italian, but it was a bit off however. It sounded as if her teeth grew or something and her tongue was pressing against it to much. Then after a few seconds she got whatever was happening to her under control and looked back to him. However he wasn't again intimidated by her, her strength may be great but he was strong as well. Plus having blades made out of Uru did help a lot as well, so he thought himself to be alright enough to defend himself if necessary.
"My order is of no concern to outsiders, all we want to know is how do you keep on living for so long through out history. Even being in the most significant points in history, we took account of everyone through the years". Desmond wasn't going to give her any information that she could look into later. If she was as old as the Assassins order thought she was she might have seen some of the cloths he was wearing throughout history. She might have even met one of his great great ancestors in the past however he wasn't going to dwell on that.

Nichole didn’t have to worry about her blood dripping all over the alley and infecting other living beings. She knew that her body would reabsorbed it very quickly, and she was certain that he wouldn’t know what she was. Her kind has kept to the shadows for centuries, and she had lived by that creed. She only pretended to be a human because she was starved for their contact, and she longed to be one again. However her search was becoming futile, and she was starting to come to terms to being a vampire for the rest of eternity. However, she mentally shook her head to clear her head and refocus on the situation at hand.
She wasn’t interested in fighting him, although she was more than qualified in that area. Having served in several wars, her first being the American Revolution. She remembered she had to pretend to be a man, but at that time she only fed off of the dying left on the battlefield. There was nothing that medicine at that time could have done for them, as it could have saved them today. She thought she was doing them a favor as she drained the fallen heroes, as she helped them not suffer from their injuries or get captured by the Red Coats and forced to tell them secrets. Still, the point being that she could fight if she was pushed, and she hoped that this boy didn’t push her. Especially since she was hungry…
"My order is of no concern to outsiders, all we want to know is how do you keep on living for so long through out history. Even being in the most significant points in history, we took account of everyone through the years"
Now it was Nichole’s turn to smirk. This boy had no idea on what she was, and that was good. It meant that he didn’t have to die, as long as she kept him in the dark. Two can play at being cryptic. She eyed him like a predator going after its prey, and began to stalk toward him. ”My community is of no concern to outsiders as well. If you don’t know the answers, then you will not get them from me.” She told him as she got closer, her curiosity getting the better of her as her memory pulled her back to 15th century Renaissance Italy. It was the way he was dressed, and remembered seeing someone in a similar style of clothing climbing the walls and jumping across the buildings.

Desmond watched as Nichole got closer to him with a smirk brandished on her face that said more then what words could ever say. She was curious, that was granted, however so was the order, though he wasn’t personally, he really didn’t care as long as she didn’t mess with the order of things. The Assassins worked hard to get it to the point it was now, and they were going to make sure to protect it that way. Then he heard her response the same comment back at him, keeping him in the dark of what she truly is, however the order has other means of getting information. There’re others out there that have lived as long as she has, and the order is already investigating them as we speak. Hopefully they get something out of them; he needs to focus more on his missions.
Then it came to the point where she was close enough to him that she could see his face if he let her see it. Desmond could feel the cold radiating from her skin, it was odd, and he never encountered someone with no well color to them. He was already questioning whether she was human or not, he’d seen some strange stuff already, a non-human wouldn’t be the least of it. However he decided to forget the mission at hand and well do what he does best, flirt. Grabbing her hand he kissed it lightly, "Beh, la mia donna sembra che siamo in un vecchio compagno di allora. But it was nice to meet such a beautiful lady, however I must warn you. The order is always watching you, do not side with your superiors if they seem a bit..out of place”. After then he let go of her hand and turned around, he started to walk smirking under his hood wondering if her curiosity would get the better of her.

Nichole knew that she was a curiosity to this order that he spoke. But her kind dates back to before any kind of organization. Even if they have their greedy eyes on other vampires, she knew that they wouldn’t get anything from them either. Their way of life was safer when no one knew that vampires exist. They did not want a vampire holocaust much like the Salem Witch Trails, and there would of course be a war fought in the night of every city. It was something that her kind needed to avoid, and they would do well to keep it that way. She remembered the one time she had accidentally exposed herself to the people of the village she had called home, and she did not care to repeat the experience. It was a fearful chase, one where she was not doing the chasing…
Her body was telling her she needed to feed, and that this boy was available. His heartbeat pounding in her head, and his blood scent enticing her closer to him. Her vampire in her head kept telling her to bite him, drink from, take his life force from him and make it hers. She looked at him hungrily, as if she was drawn to something about him. She knew what was drawing her to him, but he had absolutely no idea. Her control was slipping, but she wasn’t making an effort to push the vampire back…yet. She knew she wasn’t about to ‘vamp’, and she most likely looked pretty creepy at that moment. Her eyesight sought and found the pulsing artery on the side of his neck, just in the shadow of his hood.
"Beh, la mia donna sembra che siamo in un vecchio compagno di allora. But it was nice to meet such a beautiful lady, however I must warn you. The order is always watching you, do not side with your superiors if they seem a bit..out of place”
Nichole continued to stare at him, and she literally freaked out when he grabbed her hand and kissed it. Memories of attempting to fight off men when she was mortal came back to her. She hissed and pulled her hand away from his warm lips. She balled up her fists as she tried to push back the vampire that rushed to the front in an attempt to protect herself. ”Nonlo tocchi ancora! Non senza mio permesso!! I have no superiors, and no one watches me without my knowledge. She growled out, and turned her face once again with her eyes closed to keep her vampire side hidden from him. Well, it wasn’t quite true. If her master had ever decided to find her, and ask her to help him she would have no option but to help him. It was a deep rooted instinct that she couldn’t ignore no matter how much she wanted to see him suffer for abandoning her so young after making her.

Desmond looked up at Nichole when she freaked out from the grabbing of her hand and the slight kiss to it. He didn't rise a brow, he didn't ask, he even didn't fold his arms and wondered why. She made it kind of obvious why that bothered her, so it didn't take a rocket scientist to find out. All he did was look to here as she balled up her fist, listened to what she had to say, and then do same thing she did earlier. Which really brought him back to Italy, kind of a weird moment where his abilities came in handy. He remembered one day in Venice, he was flirting with one of the many beautiful women. But ended up getting caught with what he called a 'catch' the other day and ended getting chased around Venice. It took him a moment to remember that he could run across the roof tops, plus use his speed.
But returning to reality, Desmond looked to the still angered Nichole, and decided to straighten things out. "Scusa la mia signora, but you must have miss read my intentions and words. The order will watch you in till you deem not a threat to the safety of the people. And by superiors I meant for the people you work for. Just be careful who is above you, you never truly know there true intentions in till it is too late". Desmond didn't a confrontation today, that wasn't part of the mission. All he was supposed to do was to investigate on what she was. But as it looked like, Nichole was either ready for a fight, or willing to bring him in. Which he wasn't going to let happen, he had other missions that he had to attend to. Some of them that can't wait because a fight was triggered.
As he started to walk away from Nichole he went to the nearest building and scaled it quickly to the roof. It over looked the part of the street they were on, including the cops still investigating the body. Desmond thoughts wondered but then picked up a small heavily encrypted letter detailing his next mission. After looking at it he placed the piece of paper back into on of his pouches.

Nichole had trouble pushing her vampire back, and wondered if what Deacon Frost had done in that temple had anything to do with her now nearly nonexistent control. She hadn’t felt this out of control since she was a fledgling, and forced herself to focus. She blanked her mind for a moment and waited until she felt the vampire retreat. Once she was certain that it was back inside the cage, she opened her eyes and returned her attention to him. She knew she was going to have to leave work and go feed, but she wanted to first make sure this guy was dealt with.
"Scusa la mia signora, but you must have miss read my intentions and words. The order will watch you in till you deem not a threat to the safety of the people. And by superiors I meant for the people you work for. Just be careful who is above you, you never truly know there true intentions in till it is too late"
She ground her teeth in an effort to control her temper, that if out of control as well will unleash the vampire within. She couldn’t afford that either. She watched as he started to walk away, and then climb the nearest building. She breathed heavily, and flew up to the roof to where he was climbing to, getting there before him. Her hunting instincts kicked in, and she hid in the dark shadows waiting for him to arrive. She watched as he overlooked the crime scene she had just all but abandoned, and read a piece of paper before returning it to a pouch.
Nichole approached him without a sound, as if she was hunting her meal for the night. Of course it was not true. She doesn’t kill or hurt people anymore, but still she likes to indulge in the aspects of the hunt. When she was right behind him, she leaned into his ear to clear his misconceptions about her. ”One, I haven’t killed anyone in a very long time and I do not intend to start again anytime soon. And two, I trust my superiors more than I trust you. Them I know, you I do not.” She said into his ear and quickly backed away ready for any reaction to her stalking him.
