Aless hummed happily as she moved throughout the kitchen easily enough. It was early morning,far to early for most of the students to be up. Given that it was saturday as well,she doubted any would be up soon.
During this time she was by herself she decided to start cooking. Pans sizzled from butter,the coffee machine was bubbling away. The kitchen was slowly starting to smell like breakfast.
Her voice raised slightly,her humming taking on words as she cooked. It was a little nonsense song that meant nothing,but she sang it anyway.

Nick woke up in his small room, looked out the window it was just around Dawn still, it was one of Nick's favorite times of the day, right now Darkside was begging to grow tired from, running around in Nick's head all night, and Sunrider hadn't woken up yet, Nick was completely alone, no voices in his head it was just Nick up there. Nick slipped into his purple tee and a pair of black sweats before heading downstairs to find some grub in the kitchen.
Nick could hear the sounds, and smell the sounds of food being made, who was up at this hour? Nick Headed into the kitchen where he saw a girl cooking, Nick remembered her from the captain's class but he couldn't place her besides that. "mmm, smells good. Nick grabbed himself a cup of coffee, stuck some oatmeal on the stove, and added two sausages to the griddle for himself.

Aless was still singing to herself when Nick entered,her back to the door. Shaking her head slightly to get her hair out of her face she jumped when he started to talk.
"Oh!" Turning around she smiled faintly. "Oh,you suprised me."She said softly,pressing a hand to her chest. She smiled to him before nodding to the pancakes and eggs she had already made
"Help yourself hun. I made more than enough"She pulled down a few plates down for them.

Aless was the girls name, Nick thought, but she had made quite a breakfast. Nick graciously scooped up some eggs, two pancakes and put them on a plate with the two sausages he'd made, and the oatmeal. It was a lot of food, but Nick was a very active mutant, he needed the energy, and technically at times he was 3 different people.
Nick sat down at the table, his eye was caught by his reflection, his hair was a mess, but more importantly it was blonde not white and not black, and one eye was purple the other gold, everything was normal, Nick was in complete control for now. "Thanks, and come sit down, if we start to run out of food I'll cook more."

Aless smiled softly and nodded,turning the heat off on the stove and pouring herself a cup of coffee. Filling a small plate with eggs and pancakes she slid into the seat across form him.
It was mid bite that she realized something"Ah! My manners. I am Alessandra Grimm. Aless, please"She smiled brightly,her cheeks flushing a soft red in embarrassment.
She hated forgetting simple things like introducing herself. At least she didn't leave the stove on again.

Aless looked flustered, almost embarrassed as she hastily introduced herself. "Hey it's fine, we were both in Captain America's class yesterday, mademoiselle, though I don't think we were formerly introduced, I remember gleaning your name. I'm Nick Barton by the way."
Nick found Aless' stress quite adorable, she had no need to be embarrassed.

"It's a pleasure Nick"Aless smiled softly,taking a sip of her coffee as she listened to him for a moment. The accent he had was French,and it intrigued her. Growing up Aless had lived in an Irish/Czech neighborhoo,so she rarely heard French.
"It was hard pressed of us to become formally introduced yesterday,when the main goal of the class was to kick each other's ass" She teased over the rim of her coffee mug.

Aless was right yesterday's class was not exactly a friends making class, though the Captain had insisted they introduce themselves. "Ya well all the same it is nice to get to meet you outside of class, I'm technically not a student here anymore, I graduated, but the day we stop learning is the day we die. Nick took a sip from his coffee, it was good but nothing special.
Nick absentmindedly created a small dragon out of light and sent it flitting around the room, it's tether of light jumping from one pool of light to the other.

Aless laughed into her hand softly,hiding her smile behind it. what he said was the truth though,they would forever be learning more and more about their powers.
She leaned back in her chair watching the little light dragon bounce around. "Pìkný"she mumbled softly,whispering the word in Czech was it danced.

"Control takes time, and I only appear in control, though two years of life or death training plus 6 years at this school have been quite beneficial to my control. Though I bet you don't have to deal with what I have to deal with to balance my powers." At that moment Sunrider was begging to wake up, he had noticed that Nick was using his powers over light, and when Nick did that during the day Sunrider was at his strongest. Nick dissipated the Dragon, and Sunrider drifted back to sleep. Aless was 2 or 3 years younger than Nick she'd catch up.

Aless nodded slightly,twisting her hand over the top of her coffee cup. The liquid inside the cup starting to swirl around,gaining speed slightly. She dropped her hand before it could spill over.
"I don't think so. Then again I don't know what you have to deal with"She mused politely,folding her hands over each other on the table top.
It was true,Aless knew almost nothing about any of the students,having buried the first few years of her life at school in trying to learn how to control her powers.

Aless sat there and moved her hand over her cup, was she stirring her coffee with her powers? That was cool, so she controls liquids, or is it water, Nick hoped it wasn't just coffee.
Aless was right she didn't know anything about him, but that wasn't a bad thing. "Hey I'm sure we had our own share of hardships, being a mutant isn't easy."
Nick felt Sunrider stirring, and now he could also sense Darkside sitting there and listening, couldn't he have one hour of quiet?

"The day my powers developed I came to the school. My family,my friends.....no one knows where I am or what happened"She explained,tracing designs into the table"I just.....vanished."
She never felt proud of leaving her family like that,but she never did anything to correct it. After all these years,she couldn't.

Nick decided, Aless was special in many ways, not the least of which was her powers had been completely developed in a safe environment. "Well aren't you the lucky one, you truly were spared, you were never disowned by your parents and thrust into a government facility to be experimented on, you are quite unique in your ability to come to this school completely unscathed by the outside world's prejudices." Nick wasn't really trying to be condescending, or sarcastic, or even trying to get pity, he was simply remarking on the uniqueness of Aless' arrive at the academy, very few students arrived at the school without others learning they were different.

Aless smiled softly,dropping her hands to the table. While his tone wasn't negative she still felt like she couldn't connect to any of the other mutants at the school. She didn't understand their past.
"Sometimes I wish I didn't leave so soon,if only because it would allow me to understand the other students. Right now the best I can do is act as a mother would."She blushed again,her cheeks turning bright pink"Even then I still feel disconnected"
