Damion had climbed up to the roof as sunset began to close in, something he learned as a kid on his own was don't take things for granted appreciate the little things, and one of those was the luxury of the watching a sunset and the stars afterwards. Those simple things in life calmed him down and brought him away from reality, although he doesn't open up around people he is actually kind of sensitive but is afraid that if he shows that he is soft the brotherhood would walk all over him so he keep his stoney and angry appearences up among the brotherhood. He looked out into the sunset as he took a deep breath, why can't life be this simple no worries no responsibility but no it can't he had a job to do and that was to clear open a mutant world for future generations and he would ensure that it happened.

Sophie looked out at the sky. She had been sitting on edge of the roof for some time now. The ground was miles away and the skies seemed to hover just over head. She didn't know what to think or what to feel. She felt lost.
The sky turned into bright orange and then melted into a firey red. It reminded her of her sister. Bright and beautiful and full of life. She knew twilight was approaching, that was her, cold and ominous. An Ice queen. She laughed quietly, it could've been mistaken for a whisper.
Before she knew it someone else appeared on the roof too, maybe he had been there the whole time. She rolled her eyes, I suppose this means no more peaceful contemplation on my own then. She looked at him, he didn't seem all bad, kind of cute even.

As Damion watched the sun lower beneath the horizon the sky lit up like it was on fire, it was times like this that he lost everyone in the world and wished he could be up there among the stars watching down on the earth.
That was when suddenly he heard a whisper like sound and was kind of startled, he looked around until locking on to the girl at the edge of the roof, and then he suddenly recognized her, she was the ice queen girl from the brotherhood, but here she looked normal and nice, and she was actually cute now that he looked at her.
He edged down the roof and sat on the edge next to her taking a chance with the ice queen, he knew her power and was not eager to get her to use it. "It's a great view isn't it?"

It was as if she was a psychic mutant instead of one that could kill people. She internally rolled her eyes and glanced up at him from behind the curtain of her hair. Now that he was closer she felt like she might as well talk to him. It was funny, she felt a little calm instead of annoyed. Maybe it was because she didn't feel threatened by him. She suppressed the urge to shrug.
Sophie looked back out at the sunset, "Yeah, it's almost sad to me though. Every time i see it, i feel like the sun will never come back up." She pulled her knees up to her chest and placed her chin on them. The usual chill around her coiled out in tiny tendrils, licking at the warm air.

Damion watched out toward the sunset as she talked to him, what she said struck a chord in him when he was younger he had felt the same way, that time when everything had changed in his life, everything he relied on let him down, and the last thing he was sure felt as though it may slip away at any moment. "In this world, the sun rising is about the only thing we can rely on anymore."

Sophie was a little shocked at his answer, he didn't seem like he was like the guys she had known before becoming a mutant. Or even now. She looked at him, and really looked. He had nice eyes. He didn't look exceedingly handsome but he looked normal and kind of cute.
She looked down and then watched the sky turn dark. "I guess you're right." She hadn't thought about it like that. It seemed like it was an okay idea. She felt like shaking her head. She just wanted to be normal again to find a way out of this living hell she felt like she was thrown into.
"Who are you?" It sounded more like a command than a question. She tried to soften her voice some, "What I meant to say was i don't really know your name, mine's Sophie." She was kind of shocked at how calm and nice she was being.

Damion looked out at the darkening sky, he didn't usually open up aobut things like this but he just didn't care right now, he knew that what happened up here would probably never reach the brotherhood, even if it was just for her sake. He looked over to her a smiled a soft smile, she looked great and he couldn't see why everyone always avoided her, she seemed so innocent and harmless.
"Yeah, I come up here alot to get away from it all, up here I have no responsibilites. I can just enjoy the simpler things in life, instead of thinking how I can make this into a mutants world for those to come." Damion said as he now started to speak his mind to this stranger of sorts.
His mind began to wander, if she was like this under her icy exterior, she was a warm and kind person, who else was different then they seemed from the brotherhood, when she spoke she broke him from thought, "Oh, Im Damion. Hey it's getting a little chilly, do you need my jacket?" He said as he held out his hoodie to her.

The sky was dark now, and the stars had appeared under the heavy blanket of night. Today she hadn't felt very melancholy. In fact she felt numb really. She just wasn't in the mood to fight.
She rolled her eyes, he was one of those kinds. The ones who were proud to be mutants. And in a second he went from being okay to a slight burden.
Sophie looked down at the ground instead of at him or the sky. "That would be my fault Damion," she was indicating the cold air around them. "See as well as killing anyone with a touch or kiss i also have a permanent chill around me. Well, i assume it's permanent." She spared a glance at him, "So I'm good but thanks anyways."
She sighed, watching it form before her eyes like it always did. She was so tired of life. Of being a mutant, of being anything but normal. "I never asked for this," there was a bite to her words, "I never wanted to be like mutants. I just wanted to be normal like the world is supposed to be." True she knew that the world wasn't normal and people are never normal, each one being different than the rest. She just didn't want to admit it.

Damion heard her comment about her, he could sense the hurt in her voice. Damion's mood dropped as she continued talking, he at first felt bad about being a mutant but learned that was the way things were and was raised to view himself as special. "Hey, It's not that bad, you have some helpful powers in a pinch. They are better then mine anyways, all i can do is put on a suit of metal, besides when I get to angry I can't control it and things happen. I'd rather have your powers, then my destructive anger filled ones." He said as he took a deep breath, "Don't be ashamed of being a mutant. We should be proud of our selves. No one should tell us we are freaks, it's just the naturla way of the world, we are supposed to be like this. Why do you hate it so much?"

She laughed sarcastically. He had no idea, maybe she could show him. She didn't want to, he seemed so nice. She decided to leave that one for later. Instead she turned her head to give him the full force of her anger and pain, "Not so bad? You can't kill anyone with a touch or rip their life force from them with only a kiss. I don't want to play God, i just want to have a normal life. I want to go to school, i want to see my sister, i want to have a boyfriend who won't think of me as someone who could kill him every time we kiss." She felt like she was on the verge of tears, she looked away from him.
"Just.... never mind, pretend i never said anything." She said too much already. She scooted over a couple inches. She supposed he'd leave soon, it was better if she was left alone. Maybe she'd go and get the cure tomorrow.

After hearing this Damion couldn't help what he did next he was a proud mutant and he knew we should all be one, those who didn't caved in and betrayed their own kind it was furiating. Last time one of the mutants he knew tried to help the humans they shot him in cold blood. How many more lives would they have to end to make this a mutant world?
He then turned to her and grabbed her by the should and gently turned her towards him. "Never be ashamed of who you are we are all special, you, you are special. Just like if we were the average human we would always be proud of yourself, be proud of your mutant self. The world out there is cruel and and we will have a place out there someday but until that day comes we must work together for it." He said with dignity and caring and understanding as he held her with little room between them, a tear actually beginning to fall down his cheek, that mutnat shot in cold blood was like her, ashamed and he promised he would never lett those things happen again.

Sophie was expecting him to blow up at her, to leave, to do something, but she wasn't expecting him to hug her. She felt speechless, no one had gotten this close to her since she had become a mutant. She felt like crying. She wanted to be like him, to learn to love herself the way she was now. True she was proud of who she was as a human, but she wanted to learn how to be proud of who she was now. Honestly she was tired of being so cold about things. She felt the chill around her recede a bit.
Sophie breathed in shakily while she slowly pulled herself away from him. She could feel a small blush on her cheeks rise up. She quickly hid her face from him, “Maybe one day I’ll be like you…” she left it at that. She didn’t really know where to go from there. Without thinking she muttered, “I just need people to teach me how to love being a mutant.” She was looking down again, anywhere but at him. She felt like she didn’t deserve such kindness.

Damion frowned after hearing her comment, "It's not something you can just be taught. But think of it this way, you are special and unique. You have something no one else does and that makes you amazing." He said as he turned out towards the horizon again, he didn't have the complete reason why he hugged her, it was confusing to him as well as her.
As he stared out to the sky and sighed, "Well at least you have full control over yours, thats something to be proud of, most people dont have that luxury. Like me when I was little I had almost killed my parents with my power, and it gets really hard to contain sometimes." He said as another tear rolled down his cheek.

She didn't really know what to say, it had been years since she was called special. Honestly she'd been trying to reach out for acceptance from inside her sister's shadow for years. She felt confused and angry at the same time. She wanted to blame being a mutant on everyone else. Of course her sister was blessed with the better power. Or was she? Sophie was just as amazing as her. Maybe even better.
She felt the seeds of something dark growing inside her. She was better than her sister. She knew she was. She looked out at the horizon just as Damion had. Everyone feared the dark, maybe she'd be the thing to fear from now on. She smiled softly, maybe things were going to be a little different for her from now on.
Without batting an eye or even hesitating she commented, "I killed someone with my powers seconds after receiving them." She sighed and puled her knees to her chest and rested her head on them. "I had just hit his car with mine. My twin sister and I were fine. So I got out to see if he was okay, and then i killed him with my own touch. It was an accident of course...." Sophie let the sentence hang there for a time before she continued, "And i still can't really control this chill around me." She shook her head slightly, "I'm sorry about your parents, it must've been terrifying at the time." She thought back to how she felt when she knew that the man was dead. A tiny shudder traveled down her back.
