It was a nice sunny day in Weschester County with some of the stores opening and letting in the morning shoppers. Along the sidewalk these shops were on, Adam could be seen taking what appeared to be a casual walk through the streets of Weschester County looking at some of the stores. As Adam continued to walk, he looked at the car door mirrors with his peripheral vision in order to make sure that nobody was following him. It was a technique Adam learned during his Weapon X espionage training and ever since he met Rogue, he had a strong gut feeling that she was going to blow his cover. Because of this, Adam decided to come to the general area where he was going to meet his contact a half hour earlier so that he could tie up his loose end. And sure enough, the person who he suspected was following him. Now all he needed to do was to somehow get her alone.

It felt so early, and the sun was extremely bright. Yet, Rogue was outside following Adam trying to find out just what he was hiding. She wore dark clothing; black floor length trousers, a black thin polo neck top, black trainers, black socks, black plain lingerie, and a black hoody with the hood up to hide her bright red and white hair. She didn't want to stick out or be visable. Rogue had never tried to stalk anyone before but she hoped it wasn't too hard. She kept a decent distance between her and Adam, making sure there were others between them whilst being able to still see him. She wasn't even sure where he was heading. They were still in Westchester, and amongst a lot of shops. What was he doing here? Then again she supposed a public place was the best place to do something bad. It would be easy to disappear with so many people, and things couldn't get violent with so many other people around. She just hoped she would figure out what Adam was hiding soon.

As Adam continued walking, he looked into one of the car door mirrors with his peripheral vision and saw Rogue's head above the shoulder of a old man in a business suit. Not bad, but you still have need to learn a thing or two about tailing thought Adam knowing full well that she has been keeping most of her attention on him. Adam would then make a left into an alley and pressed his back again the nearest wall. He would then start to wait for Rogue and as he was waiting, he took out his hand gun knowing full well what he was going to do next. If Rogue got close enough to the corner of the alley, Adam would attempt quickly grab her arm and bring her into the alley with the barrel of his gun pressed against her body.
If that happened, Adam would say "Me and you need to have a little talk and if you try to run away or scream for help, I will shoot you". He would then release Rogue and point his hand gun at Rouge's chest.

The second she felt the gun pressed against her back Rogue could only think: Oh poop. Well, at least she had been right he was bad news. He did have a gun on her back. Rogue frowned a little as the gun went from her back to her chest. She had no idea how she was going to get out of this one. How he had spotted her? Rogue sighed, she must not be any good at stalking. She would have to find someone to teach her. Well, if she got out of this one. Perhaps there was something to the saying 'the curiousity killed the cat'. Lifting her head she looked at Adam head on. She was not going to be intimidated. Well, even if she was she was not going to look it. It was a shame he knew her ability. She could have used the element of surprise. At least she had been right. She just still didn't know what he was hiding.
"Ah suppose you won't believe ah was just out for a walk?"
Hey, it didn't hurt to try.

"I need you to tell me if you told anybody about being suspicious of me, especially if who ever you told is a member of the Brotherhood" demanded Adam hoping to god that the months he has been on this mission hasn't been completely ruined just by his power. Sure Adam may disagree with Weapon X on a lot of things, but he did firmly believe that Magneto and his Brotherhood of mutants needed to be stopped before there was another incident that was similar to the battle of Alcatraz or worse.

"Ahm an Xmen, Adam, if that is even your real name. Ah would not tell anyone without proof, and ah will find proof, if not today then someday soon. Ah know your hiding something, and ah will find out what."
Rogue responded firmly, making it look like she was just as confident as Logan was known to be. Inside she was terrified. What if he did hurt her? Why did he ask if she had told any of the Brotherhood? Was he one of them? Did he not want them to find out he had screwed up his mission because she suspected he was up to something? That sounded plausible. If it wasn't, then why would he not want the Brotherhood to know about him or that she thought something wasn't right about him? She supposed he may not want them to go after him, but if that was the case, then what was he hiding that would make the brotherhood hunt him down? Sure, he had her ability - somehow - but what would be the point of taking him for it when they could take her. None of it made sense. Rogue was determined though to find out the truth.

Adam sighed in relief once Rogue told him that she wouldn't tell anybody without any sort of proof. Although, he wasn't too thrilled that she would continue to dig around since her research might catch the attention on one of the members of the Brotherhood. It looks like I should tell her before any of this gets worse thought Adam as he lowered his gun and placed it back in his hoodie's pocket. "Just to let you know Adam is my real first name, though I know for a fact that you won't believe me if I tell you my real last name. I also know that you won't tell anybody about what my motives are once you find out about them. Do you want to know why?" asked Adam with his voice full of confidence as he started to walk closer to Rogue.
"It's because of the fact that my mission is to spy on the Brotherhood in order to help prevent another terrorist attack and because of your meddling, you already proving to be a liability. So I'm ending your meddling right here and now by telling you this. Sure me telling you this still makes you a liability, but anythings better than the mess you're going to leave behind when you start digging and I trust that you won't tell anybody about this" explained Adam.

"If you're spying on the brotherhood then why are ya at Xavier's institute for the gifted? It doesn't make any sense. If ya are spying on the brotherhood ya should have joined them, then ya could have found out all their secrets."
Rogue responded, entirely confused by this point. If he was telling the truth, then why was he hiding that? Surely he could have gone to Xavier and the rest of the Xmen to get help with spying on the Brotherhood. They did have access to the world's leading technology, and it was no secret the Brotherhood and Xmen were pretty much rivals. Why keep it secret from the Xmen? It just didn't make any sense to her. She had noticed though that Adam had put his gun away.

"Because my cover as member of the Brotherhood requires it seeing how the Brotherhood and the X-Men are working together to take out this Apocalypses guy. I'm surprised that you haven't seen any of the other members of the Brotherhood there seeing how your part of the X-Men" said Adam looking quite confused after she asked him why he was there. He thought that it was common knowledge that the X-Men are working together with the Brotherhood, but apparently Rogue didn't know.
"Now that I can't tell you, but I can assure that my orders are strictly clear that I'm supposed to gather information on the Brotherhood and their plans only" explained Adam after she asked him who he worked for. What Adam just said to Rogue would sound completely true since he was telling the truth about his orders and his charm ability would make those words sound truer.

Apocolypse! Rogue couldn't believe she had forgotten about him. Then again with so much happening in her life the past few weeks she supposed it wasn't surprising. Right, so the Brotherhood was working with the Xmen. That did make sense why he was at the institute. She sighed as she ran a hand through her flame red hair, causing the hood of her hoody to drop. Everything was getting so complicated. There was Apocolypse, now X, then Adam, then there was her new position. She had so much on her mind. She was surprised she hadn't gone onto overload at this point with everything go on and all the psyches in her head. Rogue wasn't sure she could trust Adam, but the bit she did believe was that he was spying on the Brotherhood. What else he was up to she had no idea. Still, now she had a starting point to work on. She just had to find out what Adam wanted with the Brotherhood and if it involved anyone else. Simple. Not.
"What do you intend on finding out about the Brotherhood?"

"Do you remember that attack Magneto launched on Alcatraz with his army of mutants? Well my mission is to basically report on any kind of terrorist attack that they are planning so that it could be stopped before it happens. By who, I have no idea since I'm on a need to know basis" explained Adam, though he personally had the feeling that Weapon X would send someone like Ace to get the job done. That was mostly because he seemed like the kind of guy to kill first and ask questions later, and he was the last person Adam even wanted to run into in a dark alley.

Rogue responded with a frown. Did whoever he was working for not think that the Xmen were good enough to stop Magneto? It didn't make any sense.
"The Xmen have always stopped whatever he gets up to, so ah'd suggest telling your bosses whoever they are, that they are wasting resources, money, and ya time. We have everything dealed with. Nothing gets past us. So you are not needed."
It seemed lately the Xmen were attracting all kinds of trouble. First there was Apocolypse. Then X trying to get revenge on Logan. Now Adam and whoever he was working for. Nothing was ever simple. As she thought of X, Rogue couldn't help but lift a hand to rub the part of the scar he had left which was on her neck. She still couldn't stop thinking about him. He was huge, muscular, sexy as hell, and absolutely lethal. She knew she had to stay away from him. She had to protect Logan. She just didn't know if she would end up staying away from him. After all, he did want Logan, and she was determined to protect him.

"Sorry, orders are orders and there isn't anything I can do about it. So your going to be seeing me around as long as this mission is active. Besides, the government has it's own line of defense and we can't rely on the courtesy of strangers for too long. Especially when that group doesn't have anybody to answer to if they screw up. But to be perfectly honest with you, even if I could leave this mission, I wouldn't" said Adam knowing full well that the group he was working for had the tendency to over step their bounds on a daily basis. But he couldn't afford to leave this mission, especially when he spent half of his life in a training facility.

Rogue was even more sure that something was going on that she didn't know about. She was also even more determined to find out. Of course she didn't say this however. She wasn't stupid and knew it would be in her best interest to fake she was satisfied with his answers. That, and find someone who was a master sneak so she could stalk Adam without him knowing. Now who did she know that was a master sneak? Maybe she should try to find X? He seemed like the type who would know how to sneak around. He was part of that Stryker solider weapon group thing that Logan had been a part of. Unfortunately Logan didn't remember those days or any of his training, and if he did, he didn't use any of it. She bit her bottom lip thinking. Yes, she would have to find a way to find X. Perhaps she'd go to that alley way where she had first met him. It seemed like the best place to go to find him.
"Okay. I believe you."

"Thanks for believing me after hearing all that. I know that it's wrong of me to blow my cover to you like that, but I trust you enough not to tell" said Adam who believed that Rogue was telling the truth. A part of him actually trusted her for some reason, though he wasn't sure if it was because they were currently going through the same thing with their powers or if he didn't want Weapon X suddenly taking her if he reported on the liability. Adam would then look at the time on his cell phone before looking back at Rogue and said "I've got to go now, so have a nice day"
Adam would then walk out f the alley way at a normal pace and made a right once he reached the side walk. After that, he would start heading towards the place where he was going to meet his contact looking at the car door mirrors to make sure that he wasn't being followed like before.
