Storm had been up for hours now, ever since She'd returned to the Mansion she couldn't sleep, he sleep was plagued by his face, the cackling lustful face of War, or Charles Henry Knox as he had once be called when he was a student. A week had passed and storm was still battered and bruised, her injuries had been greater than she'd thought, Hank had found internal bleeding as well as several small fractures that Storm had failed to notice, but even once those were gone the Mental scars would still be there, though Storm had protected most of the X-Men's secrets she'd fought a loosing battle against War's telepathic assault, and to keep him away from her most precious secrets, Storm had been forced to guide War to other parts of her brain, and there he'd found memories and emotions to torture her with, despite her, as Charles had called it, Indomitable will Storm had barely been able to protect her mind.
Storm looked towards the door as the door swung open to reveal Jean, Storm's problems all of a sudden seemed small at Jean's presence, her good friend had gone through a lot too. "I'm fine, couldn't sleep though, but how are you?"

"Well the vacation started out good but ended bad. Me and Scott are getting a divorce. Things just aren't the same between us."
It was true. Nothing was the same between her and Scott. There was a distance between then that nothing could fill no matter how hard they tried. And they did try. But Jean knew that nothing would change. Yes they would always be friends but they would never be able to get back what they had lost. She just wished she could remember how she came back. How Scott had come back. She remembered Logan stabbing her, killing her. She remembered dying. But here she was. Alive and well.
Jean opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. She opened it and let the cold liquid slide down her thraot. Her mouth had suddenly got dry from thinking about the divorce. She played off like she didn't really care but once she live with someone and are married to them for a length of time just leaving. Well, it takes a tole on anyone. She brushed her hands through her hair and sat down across from Storm. Jean was glad she was here. She needed a friend right now.

The words Storm was hearing from her good friend made hers sad, but they also made her glad that she had decided to hold back on spilling her own problems, Jean did not need to hear about recurring nightmares, and the pain of fighting an Omega Mutant in your head, Storm was sure both of those things were quite familiar to Jean. Right now Jean needed a friend, she needed compassion, she needed Storm to be Ororo not Storm for a moment.
Ororo reached across the table to hold Jean's hands, wincing a bit at the pain moving her shoulder resulted in. "Dear I feel your pain, but I know you will become more splendid because of it, many a thing in nature is only temporary, to make the Grand canyon a great river had to destroy solid stone, but look at the beauty that resulted from all that lost. Jean I guess what I'm trying to say is good can come from this." Ororo looked deeply into her friend's eyes desperately hoping she'd understand.

"Yeah I guess your right. I mean I'm sad but I'm kind of excited about the prospect of being single. Its a whole new oppurtunity for me. But how are things with you?"
Jean Got up and grabbed a water out of the refrigerator. She twisted the top off and took a sip from it. The cool liquid felt good on her throat. She looked at her friend Ororo. She was badly bruised and cut up. She could see it in her eyes that she was still in pain. Jean had no idea what had happened to her and she was truly concerned. She hated that she missed so much when she was gone and she only wished she could get it all back. Her mind floated to Logan. Where was he? She hadn't seen him or heard anything about him since she had been back. She wondered how he was and how he was dealing with the fact that he had killed her. Now that she was back she could thank him and tell him it wasn't his fault.

Storm was glad to hear that Jean understood her advice, and was looking forward to moving on, sometimes Storm could seem harsh, she was glad she hadn't been that time.
When Jean asked about how she was Ororo didn't know where to start, she hadn't really talked about Cairo with anyone, sure Charles knew parts, but he had his own issues, and the team knew the mission important parts, but nobody knew the emotional trauma, the mental trauma, the play by play description of what had happened, Ororo had to uphold the image of the powerful, wise, and motherly leader she had to be for the team and the school, she couldn't let this event bother her, and Emotions only messed with her powers. "Oh Jean I haven't been sleeping well, and my injuries hurt, but besides that I'm fine." Since Ororo couldn't be open with her feelings she lied, Ororo was sure her friend would know she was holding back, but Ororo hoped she'd just let it be, but knowing Jean the woman would poke around, maybe even search her thoughts.
(I give you permission to poke around in storm's head)
