It was the perfect summer day, the sun was out without a single cloud in the sky to block it and there was a nice breeze that blew every now and then. On this kind of day, most people would go outside to enjoy this perfect summer weather, but not James. James considered himself to be an indoors kind of of guy preferring to stay inside and play video games all day instead of going to the beach. The 18 year old mutant could be seen sitting in a black lazy boy chair with his feet laying out in front of him. In front of the chair, a large flat screen could be seen playing The Transformers: The Movie.
For those who are only familiar with Micheal Bay's Transformers series, the Transformers movie James was watching is the cartoon version made in 1986. And the scene the movie was currently on was Optimus Prime heading out into battle where he sustained fatal injuries from his battle with Megatron. Sure it may be one of the saddest moments in the history of the Transformers series, but James always liked that scene since it showed how bad ass the transforming truck was as he took out several decipticons and said his famous "One shall stand, one shall fall" line. With the 80's music playing in the background, James thought that this was better than any of the fight scenes in Micheal Bay's Transformer's movies.

Becky was walking along the hall. Most people were out side but she had a ton of work to do she wanted a phd and she wanted it badly. After all it was the only way she could see to get ahead in her life, She came across to every one as a blond bimbo but she was far from it. The books were stacked high in fact she could hardly see. SHe stoped she could feel a twitch on her noise she sneezed and vanished the books fell to the floor.
She appeared a few moments later. Twigs in her hair. she bent down at the door to the rec room and started to pick up the books slowly there was a lot of them and all were heavy it was balancing them. slowly she started to stack them not knowing any one was in the rec room.

As James continued to watch, he suddenly heard a loud thud outside the rec room, so he quickly paused the movie and headed towards the door to see what was going on. After opening it, James saw a woman that appeared to be around his own age with twigs in her hair picking up books that she had apparently dropped on the floor some how. It was a large amount of books, so it was understandable that she somehow dropped them, but it really didn't explain the twigs in her hair.
"Here, let me help you with that" said James as he crouched down and started to pick up books. As he did that, James couldn't help but look up at the woman's hair once in a while as it was probably the last thing he would ever suspect to see in a woman's hair.

"whats wrong with my hair?" she moved her hand to her hair and pulled out a twig. "Oh grate a twig. At least it is not the worst thing that has happened one time i ported above the cow manure and fell face first in to it. You know washing hair with cow dung in it is really hard. I found out that it is quiet easy to remove if you use the right things. I find that you just have to keep at it much like most things really. Hello by the way i am Becky but most people call me Mist. I think it has some thing to do with the green mist i leave when i port from one place to another. " she looked at the boy with a friendly smile on her face. For mist every one was a friend no mater what they thought

"Wow, that really must have sucked" said James with a friendly smile after Becky told him her story about teleporting above cow manure and introduced herself to him. If there was one thing that James felt was a bit annoying already was the fact that she seemed to be very talkative just from what she just said. "Nice to meet you Becky, my name is James Colt and I don't have some kind of cool code name. I have the power to sense emotions and the powers of other super powered beings" explained James while leaving out the fact that he could mimic super powers.

"that is really impressive How dose it work? Is it like those mood rings, i use to have one but it did not work it was allays a nice yellow which is not mine favorite color but it had to do. I think those things are to do with temperature and not how you feel my friends use to change every time i was around her it always went black which was strange." she stopped for a second and thought. "so i wasted time in saying what my powers were because you all ready know what they are? "
If he could sense Mist emotions she was happy not just normally happy but very excitable and this seamed to be her standard emotion other normal emotions were no were near as strong as they should be.

"Yeah, you pretty much did. As for my empathy, I just know what the other person is feeling and understand them when I'm looking at the person. That's after I activate the power of course which uses just as much energy as you would use to move your pinkie" explained James as he couldn't help but notice how excited the girl was through his empathy ability. It was a bit unusual, but not unnatural like when he sensed the love these two guys had for Allure.

becky thought for as second "its a reflective power interesting. so many people have powers that are like that. I spend a lot of my time stopping my self from being some were i don't want. One time when i was ill i could not keep concentration and i was porting every five seconds, Now that is disorenatating epecaly when you apear in the boys locker rooms luckly there was no one in there other wise i would of got in trouble especaly because i did not have my school uniform on. Then again i think they of been more upset with me being in the boys locker room.
Sara Jane looked in there once and the head master of the school cough her her mama and pa came to the school and no one saw her for a week. Then agaian the next week the cops were around there a lot i think some thing had gone on. some one had said taht they were in to devil worship or some thing silly like. The thing is i hear a lot of people saying mutants are devil spawn so dose that mean people who devil worship worship us?
I can understand with some of them after all these people who can move mountains and all that fancy tricks have god like power. I use to go to church a lot well it was just one of those things you did. From what i see we have more in common with god than the devil. Although i do wear more red the white and i don't have a beard but then nether dose 83 and half percent of the population. " beck bit her bottom lip as her mind raced on from one subject to another.

"Well I don't think the boys would have mind if you did teleport when there were people there" said James with a light smile after Becky told him about the time she accidentally teleported into the boys locker room. He had the feeling that if she were to teleport into the boys locker room when the boys were in there, then there would be a couple of rude guys whistling at her. Becky would then start to tell James that from what she saw, we had more in common with God than the Devil, which confused James a bit since she had apparently moved to a completely different topic.
"In my opinion, we're closer to man than God. We still have the ability to do great good or great evil, although depending on the power it could be greater. But more importantly, we're still flawed enough to make mistakes" explained James.

mist chewed her lip as she thought for a second. "yes that is true we are after all human or i think most of us still are but with our powers it is easy for some to forget that and think they are better than other Ann Smith i think she was some kind of cousin to me. She was a cheerleader and very popular at school a lot of people said that she thought she was better than the lot of us. I don't think that was the case she had a lot of pressure being head cheerleader the staff and the students required so much of her she had to be involved in so much dating the football star. Having good grades as well thats why she asked me to help her with her homework as she had more important thing to do than basic maths."
It had taken mist only a few seconds for mist who had finished all the math cores the school had to offer years before. In truth the school had struggled with Mist on a social and academic level. " any way one day her dad and mom was visiting an ill relative and she came to stay with us. One of the cows was giving birth and she was dragged out to help as much as she needed her sleep for her to do her cheerleader practice the next day. well the cow gave birth to a still born baby. I have never seen any one be sick so much in my life. Well thats not true i have. For the rest of the weeks she stayed with us she sat in her room and was and when she went back to school she told every one she was not eating meet any more.
I don't understand that Vegetarians our body's are designed to eat meat we get a lot of nutrients from it. some people say its cruel but i think thats wrong i thing vegetarians are wasteful after all the cow has given its life and if you do not eat it, it is going to waste and had died for nothing. Animals kill other animals but you don't see people complaining that animals kill each other?" Becky giggled as if to a joke that no one else would understand.
