Adam could be seen sitting on the couch in the rec room with the T.V in front of him and a remote control in his right hand. It was a Saturday night and normally, he would be out spending his time with his Brotherhood "friends" going out for a drink and talk about how someday humans will become second class citizens and will be as hated as much as mutants are hated now. Adam mostly saw this group of "friends" as a way to get know more people within the Brotherhood and a couple of them knew some people within Magneto's inner circle and planned on using them to get closer to Magneto.
One of the other things that attracted Adam to this group was that they were mostly talk and that they were basically from the suburbs with no criminal record, which meant that there was very little chance that he would be part of some kind terrorist or illegal activity. Unfortunately, when Adam was meeting his Weapon X handler, they got too drunk and assaulted a cop. Since their mutations didn't give them any useful combat capabilities, they were arrested with little to no problem. This incident of course left Adam with nothing to do but watch T.V.
The now bored Adam would then start flipping through the channels and he really couldn't find anything interesting to watch. The E-True Hollywood Story of Adam's former life as Adam Bishop did peek his interest a little, but he couldn't watch that since it could blow his cover which gave him more freedom than he had at any of the Weapon X bases.

Jean had been wandering the mansion all day. She didn't quite know what to do with herself. She had only been back for a matter of ten days now. Seven if them were spent on a remote island with her soon to be ex-husband, Scott. They had tried to make their marriage work after their unexpected return from the dead pretty much. But with more fighting and tensions between them they really had nothing in common and no love between them anymore. They both decided it was best to just break it off before their relationship got any worse. They were going to try and remain friends but Jean knew it was never going to be the same.
She returned to her room and looked around. All of Scott's things were gone and her's were scattered amonst the furniture and on the floor. She walked to her bookcase and grabbed a well worn out book. She needed to be somewhere and she needed to get her mind off of things. She walked out of her room and made her way to the rec center that the students and teachers used for entertainment. As she neared she heard the television. She figured someone was there already. She walked in and walked over to an overstuffed armchair. She sat down comfortably in it and set the book on her lap. There was a young man sittin on the couch flipping through the channels. She had never met him before so she figured he had showed up when she was gone.
"Hello. I'm Jean. I believe we haven't met before."

As Adam continued to flip through the channels, his eyes remained fixated on the screen making him unaware to the fact that someone else had just entered the room. The next thing Adam knew, he heard a feminine voice speaking to him and he looked over to his left finding a red haired woman that appeared to be 6 or 7 years older than him. Like any other 20 year old, Adam couldn't help but notice that the woman was rather attractive and didn't even notice the book in her lap until a few seconds later.
"Hi, Jean. My name is Adam Black, and I'm member of the Brotherhood. Is there anything you want to watch?" offered Adam who was pretty much up for watching anything right now, even going as low to reality T.V. As for the woman, Adam had no clue who she was and he was pretty sure that she wasn't part of the Brotherhood or else he would have seen her at the meeting to determine the Brotherhood's leader. But she also wasn't in the briefing he had shortly after he reported that the Brotherhood was going to work together with the X-Men to defeat this Apocalypse guy.
Unknown to Adam though, the reason why Jean wasn't in the briefing is that Weapon X thought that she was still dead and that the only telepath Adam needed to worry about was Xavier.

"No I'm fine. Whatever you want is ok with me. I just needed to get out of my room. Haven't been back for more than two weeks and I'm already restless."
Jean pushed some of her red hair out of her face and looked around. This place had changed a lot since she had last been here. She had missed the mansion terrible. For some reason she felt like she had been gone for a very long time. She was sure it hadn't been that long. But walking around she noticed so many new people and this alliance with the Brotherhood. She couldn't believe it! They were te reson that Logan had had to kill her. She would never trust them ever again.
She looked down at the book she had brought with her and flipped through the pages like it was a magazine she had already read. Why did she bring this with her? She didn't even want to read it now. She tossed it onto the table next to her and stretched her arms out over her head trying to relax.

"If that's the case then, then you need this remote more than me. I always find it easier to relax when I'm vegging out in front of the T.V" said Adam as he tossed the remote to Jean with his right hand. The young 20 year old figured that it would at least put her mind at ease since it was what he did when he had a lot on his mind and a lot of times, he found himself waking up in front of the T.V when he was trying to ease his mind at night. Adam would then yawn before taking out his cell phone. After pressing a button on the side, the screen lit up with the time and when Adam saw the time, he felt kind of disappointed in himself for feeling tired at 9 pm.
I'm getting way to comfortable with this civilian life thought Adam knowing full well that he could at least stay up for a maximum of 3 days due to his training in Weapon X. But now that he has been getting used to sleeping for 8 hours day, his body isn't used to staying up for that long.

Jean caught the remote controller as he threw it at her. Her reflexes were as good as ever and it was quick like lightning. She lazily put her book on the table beside her and stretched her long legs out in front of her. It was weird being back here and seeing everything that had changed. And a lot has changed since she had been gone. New people and students, an alliance with the Brotherhood, new enemies, and even new rooms in the mansion.
She started flipping through the channels and stopped on a cooking channel that had a cake competition playing on it. She had always been interested in food and stuff like that but had never really studied it. She loved spending time in the kitchen and cooking for anyone who was there and they all loved her food. She looked back up at Adam.
"So how long have you been heer in the mansion?"

When Jean stopped on the cooking show, Adam couldn't help but mentally sigh once he realized this was a cooking show. He himself really didn't have the patience to cook and often resorted to either ordering take out, heating something up in the microwave or going out to eat. Jean would then ask the young Weapon X agent how long has he been hear and Adam took a couple of seconds to think about how long. He knew that he has been hear since the day the Brotherhood and X-Men teamed up, but he really didn't keep track of the months.
"I've been here since the day the Brotherhood and X-Men joined forces, so don't I really shouldn't be here for very long. I mean with my power, all I need to do is touch this Apocalypse guy once and it's all over" said Adam with his voice full of confidence and a cocky smirk on his face. After all, whenever he has absorbed a mutant's ability, they were always left powerless while Adam could use that power against them. But then again, Adam never attempted to absorb the powers of a mutant that powerful...

Jean really couldn't see the alliance working out well. It may seem fine now but things would always end up getting heated and tension would rise like they always did. Jean had fought for both but when she was with the Brotherhood she had been the Phoenix. So she had not really been herself but someone else. When she was apart of them she really didn't care about them. The Phoenix only cared about itself and it went where the power was.
Jean on the other hand always fought for the good. She believed everyone had some good in them but it was just hidden deep down inside in some poeple. his young man sitting in front of her she didn't know about just yet. He seemed cocky and over confident which was never a good mix. She would have to see how this played out and decide on if she wanted to step in or not.

"Your other side?" asked Adam after Jean mentioned that this other side of her joined the Brotherhood temporarily. As he waited for an answer from the red head, he started to figure that this other side of her must be some kind of split personality. While Adam had never met a person that had a split personality, he has seen something somewhat similar to it in some of the other mutants that took part in the experiment to give them the ability to absorb powers. One of the major side effects of the experiment was the fact that some of the mutants were taken over completely by the personality they absorbed from someone else. Luckily for Adam, he was the only one among the 20 mutants to not suffer from any of the side effects. As for the others that had side effects, they were deemed as failures and eliminated.
