You can‘t run from what you are You can‘t hide all the pain~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Sky limbered behind her father as they climbed the stairs toward the shrieking creature. She wasn’t at the top of her game as she was a few moments ago before she was bitten. She could feel that her belt wrapped around her arm was of course doing what it was intended to do, as the fire in her veins stopped rising above the belt that is keeping the blood flow from going further. Funny thing is that the more she moved, the more she was able to focus on her goal. By the time she reached the landing, she was able to follow her father more closely. Following his tactic as he jumped from one floor to the other, and soon she found herself surpassing him despite the fact that not just anyone else can. So she had reached the top just before he did, and halted just inside the room at the scene before her.
At least their fears of the bloodsucker not being effected by sunlight was not founded. It seemed that this thing was trying to escape, but every time it tried to move out of the room it screamed as the rays hit the skin of the thing. She took out her sword with her good hand, and twirled it around a little bit to communicate that if it didn’t do as told she wouldn’t hesitate to slice it up. She watched it like a predator as it eyed her, and she noticed it was giving her the same kind of stare as well. ”Now we don’t want to kill you…yet. We are going to play a game of daywalker questions first. Just remember that you have nowhere to go, and don’t even think about biting me again. I will not hesitate to slice your hellish head off that dead body of yours.” She told it as she got ready to defend herself.
Sky heard her father approach from behind, and she snarled at the creature as it hissed at her. She stared it down and moved her sword minutely to signal it that she was capable of killing it without a second thought. ”Seems that it can’t stand the sun.” She told her father without removing her eyes from the thing, especially when it tried once more to escape. Another ear splitting shriek was hear as it lurched itself into a patch of morning sun.

Inside the absolution we succumb And appetites are bittersweet i think I'm going numb A chance to give up avarice has marked my one regret ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Blade found himself reaching the top landing just moments after his daughter, his coat fluttering behind him in the draft that was coming through the planks that patched up the windows, the overall room seemingly in disrepair. He halted in the doorway, to prevent another escape route for the fiend, once again struggling under the weight of an angry Skylar. Blade paid close detail to the hissing creature as it's cries became even more fierce should a ray of sunlight touch it's skin. Blade's eyes caught a glimpse of the exposure, the mottled skin bubbling under the UV rays, before instantaneously healing upon leaving the light. It was curious that a vampire should even possess that level of endurance to sunlight, which meant one thing: this breed was closer to them as daywalkers than any other had been before. Blade's thoughts were interrupted by another bloodcurdling hiss that would freeze any mortal man to their very soul. The creature still struggled, while Razor attempted to interrogate the target. The elongated leather ears of the creature twitched vigorously as it spat in the face of it's assailant, a odd assortment of speech patterns shooting from the creature's lips. "You can't win....." The first part was very clear, although then the vampire broke off into another language, hissing and spitting as though the very thought of the daywalkers repulsed him. "Empusa tha katavrochthísei ti̱ méra sas peripati̱tés . Aplá periménete , i̱ so̱ti̱ría mas eínai sto chéri. Tha pethánoun apó ti̱n anástasí̱ ti̱s. I̱ néa geniá tha vasilév̱oun!!!!!!"Blade's face broke into a fanged smile, as his figure moved towards the window, his hand reaching out towards one of the boards keeping the sunlight out. Motioning briefly to Skylar, he simply stated, "Keep your hold on him..." before his fingers proceed in tearing the first board off. The sunshine ushered into the room, as the vampire was soon bathed in the warm light, his screeching now unlike anything they had heard yet. As Blade watched the squirning of the vampire, no sympathy crossed his face. He remained emotionless as the vampire went into violent spasms, attempting to throw Razor off of him, as his eyes shot yearningly towards the open doorway in hopes for salvation. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The effect it has on life itself is a cancer on its source I rue the moments spent between the fetish and the flame Until this war is over I won't ever lose my rage TAG :: Skylar Eva Brooks NOTES :: He doesn't seem too pleased.... You can‘t run from what you are You can‘t hide all the pain~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Sky found herself trapped in a sort of dance with the creature, her sword an extension of her hand. When the thing got too close, she would end up nicking it with the tip of her sword and causing a whole new set of screams from the thing. She watched as her cuts smoked on the skin and then it seemingly repaired itself faster than normal. Same thing with the burns it suffered from the daylight. This worried her to no end, and she knew that it was perhaps closer to her and her father as daywalkers than any others. She knew that it cannot be allowed, and she shot question after question about what this thing was and what it was trying to accomplish. For every evasive answer it proved, she added another cut and pushed it further into the inescapable room.
The thing still tried to get past her and escape, but it only caused it more pain as it had to go through the streams of bright morning sunlight stretching across the room. Finally it seemed to have had enough of her questions, and just started to spit at her in answer instead. She tried to dodge the bodily fluids, not knowing if it carried the virus as well or not. The bite was bad enough, and she wasn’t going to get a double dose as well. The thing then said that they can’t win, and she only gave a knowing smile that mirrored her father’s. Fangs and all, and she saw the hint of fear in the thing as it began to hiss and shout at her in a language she could not decipher. Her face turned back into the stony expression that she normally wore, and stole a glance at her father. She saw him move towards the nearest window, and then returned her attention to the bloodsucker in front of her. Her father’s brief movement did not escape her attention, and before the thing knew what happened she was behind it, holding it fast and strong.
”Keep your hold on him…”
Sky simply nodded her head once to tell him that she understood, and situated the two of them directly in front of the window Blade was uncovering…slowly. She kept a tight hold on the thing, not allowing it to buck her off, and her mouth was at its ear. ”This is for biting me and trying to do whatever the bite was suppose to do. But you see, I’m not just any daywalker, not like my father here. Oh no. I was conceived this way. My sire was a very old pureblood, so my blood and DNA has certain advantages…” She whispered menacingly in its ear and watched as the eyes kept looking at the door hopefully. ”Want to retreat to safety? Away from us and the light? Just tell us what we want to know. Don’t tell us, or simply refuse to answer… Well, we’ll just stand right here while my father goes about the room tearing each board off the windows. I can assure you that you will not survive.” She offered the thing.
The bloodsucker’s response to this was to hiss at her and attempt to bite her forearm where she was using it to hold it against her. ”You play nice!” She hissed at it and then crippled it with a swift, bone-breaking blow to the thing’s knee with her foot. Her eyes shot over briefly to her father, and waited for him to ask what he needed to ask so they can dispose of this fiend once and for all. And then see about her wound, and how bad it was.

As Blade watched the creature struggle underneath his daughter, he derived almost a sort of pleasure out of seeing a vampire hurt, although his face remained calm and emotionless, watching the vampire much like a vulture waiting for it's prey to keel over. Even as Skylar hit the creature with a crippling blow, he felt no sympathy or even pity for the damned beast.
The creature became more frantic as it squirmed, even though the bone Skylar had broken seemed to have remended itself. Even despite it's remarkable healing ability, the fiend remained trapped, snapping wildly at the air in front of Razor, it's elongated fangs trying to at least get injure her further.
Blade was getting rather unamused at these games. He wanted to speed things up. At the rate things were going, the possible allies of this vampire could be making away as they speak. Pulling his handgun out of his coat, he aimed towards the vampire's shoulder joint. "Razor, move aside." As a clear shot was evident, Blade pulled the trigger as the gun went off, the bullet splattering into the shoulder blade of the demon as it released another high shriek. The hole where the bullet hit now secreted a filmy silver liquid, which seemed to delay the healing process. Blade, satisfied, smirked, his voice still merciless and unwavered. "Just as I thought. You are still a vampire. Silver still harms you doesn't it?"
Kneeling down beside Razor, Blade pressed his shades back, as he glanced at the vamp, his features solemn, as he brought the barrel of the handgun to the creature's head, pressing it up against the beast's forehead. "I'm betting a single shot here will kill you. Am I right? In exchange for sparing you, I want you to tell me about what you know of the Empuse. Am I understood?" The creature stopped it's seizure like movement, it's eyes focused firmly on the firearm against it's skull, a look of fright on it's face. Blade knew the feeling well, he had seen many vampire victims with the same look. Yet it held less waver when etched on the fiend's grotesque features. The creature seemed to give in, as it spoke in a dry hoarse voice. It was evident from the demon's speech patterns that it was not accustomed to the English language, as it spoke with an odd accent. "Da Empuze, dey ar foluers of da graet goddezz. Zhe grantz uz pouer in ezhang fur hur loyaltee. I am but mezzengr, spreidin hur wurd."The gun was pressed more firmly against the creature's skull, as Blade could feel his patience slipping. "akai, akai, da empuze ar tu meet n Zentrall Park. Tomurro nit, wen moon iz foll...."
Blade smiled, he got what he was after. His finger pulled down on the trigger as the gun blew, the skull of the creature combusting with an impressive display of blood and gore, the stew that were the creature's brains now flooding out of the open cranium, leaving a feast for the rats that inhabited the place. Pulling himself to his feet, he motioned to Razor. "Let's go. We will intercept their coven at Central Park. Dispose of any others who might be crawling around here, and then we'll have a look at your wound." Blade's coat fluttered behind him, as he walked out of the room, his gun receding back into his coat as he glanced around outside the doorway.

You can‘t run from what you are You can‘t hide all the pain~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Sky was concentrating on keeping the suckhead in her grasp, and could barely keep track of what her father was doing around them. She was too busy trying to keep the thing’s fangs out of her flesh, and she was of course jerking the demon around like a rag doll trying to get it to behave. She even went back to nicking the thing with her sword, and ignore the ear deafening shrieks of pain that emitted with each cut of her blade. She also ignored the stench of the burning undead flesh of the creature, and continued on her course of action. Memories of what Dante had put her through playing in her mind, and wondered how much of those experiments would this bloodsucker be able to withstand before succumbing to blissful unconsciousness.
”Razor, move aside.” … ”Just as I thought. You are still a vampire. Silver still harms you doesn’t it? I’m betting a single shot here will kill you. Am I right? In exchange for sparing you, I want you to tell me about what you know of the Empuse. Am I understood?”
When she heard him say her name, she looked up and over the bald head of the thing in her arms. What she saw made her freeze for a brief moment while her mind processed what she was seeing in reference to what she heard. Grabbing the thing by the throat and stepping aside, she held the thing tightly in a choking grip and ignored the scratching of its nails on her arm. As soon as she was clear of his aim, he pulled the trigger and embedded a hollowed-silver-filled bullet into the suck head’s shoulder. Again she ignored the painful shriek from new wound that was now oozing what she knew to be liquid silver. She could smell the metallic compound as it slowly leaked out of the thing in her grip. She then watched as her father placed his gun against the temple of the thing and demanded that it answered him. She knew that he would pull the trigger, and that he was of course lying to the thing about sparing it.
The bloodsucker gave a barely understood answer, but the message was clear. But the thing did not give them anything useful, and she felt her patience as well as Blade’s slipping. Her grip tightened on the throat just as Blade pressed the barrel more firmly against the cranium. A place and time followed, and the father and daughter paired smiled in unison. As if the two of them were a well oiled machine, she saw him start to squeeze the trigger, and she quickly let go of the vampire’s throat. The thing did not stand a chance as the truly dead corspe dropped and stayed that way. Brain and blood pooled out beneath it, mixed with the liquid sliver ensuring that what ever rodent had decided to feast upon it wouldn’t be infected. She watched as her father got to his feet and motioned for her to follow.
”Let’s go. We will intercept their coven at Central Park. Dispose of any others who might be crawling around her, and then we’ll have a look at your wound.”
Sky had totally forgotten about her bite until her father mentioned it. She looked down at the redden hand and noticed it was a bit swollen, before attempting to ball it up into a fist and failing. She stuffed her hand into her pocket, biting back the pain the movement cost her, and rushed to catch up with her father. ”Blade, what was it sprouting off a few minutes ago? Right after it told us that that we can’t win. I didn’t understand it, or know what language that was…” She asked him when she got next to him, her free hand gripping her beloved sword just incase they might run into trouble.
