It was six after midnight, and the minutes would likely keep ticking away as she stood there leaning on the railing of the Brooklyn Bridge, motionless. Due to the late hour, there were hardly any visitors. Those who did approach the beauty, were ignored and eventually went on their way.
Her pale ashen eyes seemed to stare out into the darkness of the water below. It's glassy surface was vividly awash with shades of yellow, blue, red, and even green. It's constant flow making the colors dance and swirl as if preforming a show for any onlookers willing to admire it.
The sky above was beginning to finally clear, and Salem silently mourned the storms passing. The violent beating of the cold rain against the roof and windows, the brilliant hot flashes of purple, white, and blue. The smell of it, even the loud bellow of the thunder that, at times, seemed to shake the apartment itself. Her companion in those last few nights had thought nothing of it, he simply failed to see its true beauty. She, on the other hand, would miss it greatly, it had brought her such a strong sense of calmness and peace.
Thankfully, such storms were not uncommon here, and another would surely rise to take its place soon enough.
This time, she had left no note to be found. If she were needed, he had made sure she was a phone call away. They had not seen nor spoken much to each other since his big event, either he was gone before she woke up, or she just left him there. The truth was, she liked it that way. She had her privacy, she had her freedom, and she still enjoyed being useful when it was requested of her.
During one of their few brief interactions, he had given her a cell phone. It had seemed like a gift, but she knew she would be paying for it later somehow. He was a cold, quiet, calculating man, with an incredibly quick wit. At times, his lack of emotion was a little unnerving, but she still somehow found herself enjoying his company more and more.
More than likely, he was using his unique charm to persuade someone into doing his bidding right now. Who ever the unlucky soul was, or whatever idea he had for them, she did not concern herself with. Quite simply, she just did not care.
Tonight, she was dressed rather modestly for her style. A pair of tightly fitting black jeans and a black spaghetti string top, which was exposed only by the unzipped opening of her black leather jacket. On her feet, she wore simple black tennis shoes.
She had always gravitated to this color, hinting at her nick name growing up. "Witch Girl," which had become "Salem," by high school.
As always, her loose ebony curls were allowed to go wild down her back, or over her shoulder. In the wind, the silk strands had become a mane that fluttered about freely around her. The cold night air had chilled the other wise exotic olive tone of her skin, bringing forth a faint, rose color to be displayed on her defined cheeks, her small nose, her chin, her delicate fingers, and her ample chest.
Her make up for the evening had been surprisingly light when compared to the usual grey or black smokey eye she often wore. Tonight, it was a collection of almost nude shades that brought just a slight pop to her odd colored almond shaped eyes, a thin line of black eye liner on her top and bottom lids, and a just enough black mascara to make her extremely long eye lashes stand out.
Her deep pink lips had been left untouched other than a dab of clear chap stick. She was still very beautiful, but it seemed her entire demeanor was different. It seemed as if she were trying to avoid her normal attention. Tonight, she had planned to be alone.
Her plans, however, were subject to change at any second.

Becky was lying on her bed. it had been a long day. she had a book in one hand and a pen in the other quickly she took notes. she could hear the rain beating on the window. She looked at it with a strange fascination it never rained as much back home. she moved to take a sip of her water. she was dressed as normal it was clear that Becky was from texas she always dressed the part.
It was not a mater of being like the others it was sensible to have a good pair of boots and a hat to keep the sun off. she did not own much in the way of dresses or even anything that could be called feminine but that had been her life they were things she did not need. She flicked the pages of the book.
Her mind wondered to early that training class had been hellish. so much had happened and she had nearly been set a light that would of been most unpleasing for her. Then again the man taking the class he looked like he was in to all that body modification with so much metal on him. he probably had forgotten that not every one was that tough and he probaly had no one to hug. Maybe next lesson she would give him a hug to see if it made him feel better. Then she remembered her Father telling her that not every one like to be touched best not she thought to her self. she stood up ready to get redyy for bed. she placed her hat down and with a puff of green mist vanished the book floated in the air for a moment before landing on the floor.
Mist reformed " this is not the bathroom." she looked about her powers telling here were she was. Grate she jumped quiet far this time she looked around to see if any one could see her. she saw a woman standing a few feet away from her. "umm hi. I am sorry if i scared you i don't have to full control of it yet. Some time i port or jump some place when i plan to go some were else. This is about as far as i have been able to go. It feels like i have run far and i had gym earlier and that was problematic to say the least i think i may have to do a couple of jumps to get back as not to strain my self or i may randomly jump again. I always seam to do that when i am stressed or tired. It is one of the reason i get more than 8 hours sleep at once. That way i am less likely to apear some place i dont want to then i dont have to answer question that people will not be to happy about the answer. One time i kind of appeared in the headmaster office and he came in thinking i was stealing. I would never do some thing like that as my daddy educated me better. It was embracing for me not as embracing as porting in on a couple of people having sex. I dont know what i would do then as it take a few moments to have enough power to do it again. "

"This is not the bathroom."
This odd statement managed to pull Salem away from the view for a moment. She turned to see the random girl standing there. Usually, she heard the bridge creek when someone walked up behind her. With this girl, there had been silence. Sadly, that silence did not last.
"Um."
Salem's eyes widened and she tried to speak, but she was not able to get a word in with this woman. The young female was rambling on and on about how she did not mean to be there, how she got there, other times she had done it... Some of her tiny stories were, admittedly, rather amusing. Soon enough though, Salem lost track of what the hell she was talking about and tuned her out, she just kept going anyway.
Now normally, Salem would have hated this pretty young lady, but it was the first time she'd heard more than three sentences spoken to her at a time in days. So, right now, she would have gladly welcomed a little bit of chatter. Of course, this cute little red head had passed the phase of "a little chatter" and showed no signs of stopping
It seemed the girl was going to be with her for a while before she could return to where ever it was that she came from. Whatever hopes Salem had of a quiet, peaceful night out alone were quickly fading away with the clouds over head.
There had to be something she could do to silence the girl, even for a few moments. An idea came to mind, though it was very possible it would make the little female uncomfortable. Salem really would not have minded that, though, if it would work. She stepped in close to the female who was nearly equal to her own size in height, until she was mere inches in front of her. Without any warning, she swiftly leaned in and pressed her thick lips to those of her new, talkative companion.

Becky was shocked when the girl kissed her at first she did not react but after a few moments she kissed her back after all it was polite. Once the kiss ended she licked her lips for a second as if studying some data. In truth no one had ever kissed Becky let alone another girl it was an odd sensation.
"wow that was a strange sensation i never kissed any one before thank you for that. I dont even know your name i must say it was the strangest 5.7 seconds of my life. Not that there any thing wrong with girls kissing girls its as much the same as any one else kissing any one else. Were are my manners i am Becky its a pleasure to meet you."
Her mind was racing as she thought about it all but not as a person it was all facts and figures. Again Becky did not get the social grip of the situation while most people would of probably kept kissing the woman or having a fit becky just looked at it as a learning curve.

Salem was amazed that she had received a kiss in return, instead of an awkward glance and a quick pull away. Maybe this little motor mouth could be fun?
When the girl did pull away, she took a step back so she was not so close to the girl. Salem was not surprised to see that her plan had not worked. The adorable little female continued to go on and on. It was mildly annoying, but it was nice to be spoken to for a change. Salem smiled softly at Mist, and introduced herself in a quiet tone.
"Salem. Becky, hmm? The pleasure is all mine."
She chuckled lightly, then went on.
"So, I'm your first kiss? How lucky am I?"
At the end of her statement, her voice took a turn toward the flirtatious. She was curious as to how this woman would react to it. If she could guess, she thought she would be given anther speech about it, or something faintly similar to the subject.

Daken had been out and about on business of varying degrees, but now had some new pieces of information that he had to deliver to his unofficial secretary. Following her scent, he walked slowly with his hands in the pockets of his black jeans. He wore a black t-shirt, though his arms were also covered by the long leather trench coat he wore. It was left open, allowing it to follow behind him like a loyal creature riding on the breeze that the night offered. As he neared the bridge, his nose continued to twitch as he continuously took in her scent, though was now catching a second one nearby. He eyes narrowed as he saw another girl standing in front of Salem, watching her closely.
Though he soon got closer, and upon further inspection of her scent and hearing Salem speak to her about a kiss, he realized the girl was no threat and was probably just being used for some fun. He wanted to speak to Salem, but it was not terribly urgent and he had time to spare, so he simply nodded his head toward her and walked to stand behind Salem. Daken would look out over the bridge for a few moments before turning around to question Salem.
"Where did she come from?"
He said, not making any attempt to speak quietly in order to prevent the other girl from hearing him. The stranger would hear his question also, but despite the fact that they were standing a few feet apart, he ignored her completely and instead asked Salem. He was suspicious because he only caught her scent where she was standing, meaning that she did not walk over here from either direction.

"yes it was interested i am afraid i was not very good at it. i have no practice so i don't think you were that lucky." she looked as the man came over, he asked a question and Becky could not help but answer it. " i came from the boarding school i stay at but the problem is....." with that Becky vanished leaving a trail of green mist hovering in the air. A few moments and another blast of green mist she was almost in the same place. " well ummm yeah as you can see i am not almost normal."
She was embarrassed, they had a long talk about not showing there powers to the public just encase. Surely these two could not be mutant haters. she shuffled her feet. " your not going to tell any one are you? please i would get in to so much trouble. Probably the most trouble i have been in ages my dad use to hate it when i poped like that. He kept telling me that i should not port about the place people find some one like that a bit of putting."
she shuffled her boot as she looked down. she was waiting for the screaming of fear that her daddy had told her all her life would happen. " You know i don think every one is like that its not that people hate mutants. I think that most of us dont know any better my daddy told me that people hate mutants because we are different but we are not." she was not really talking to them but the world in general.

A wide smirk formed on Salem's features, and she quickly responded to the cute little female.
"Oh no, you're a natural. But, if you want a little practice, I'm always game for it."
She said to the girl, her tone extremely flirtatious and playful. She was serious about the offer, though she had no clue if Becky would pick up on it at all.
It seemed her alone time with her new friend was coming to an end, as she saw Daken approach and nod to her. She felt a bit annoyed, and questioned what the point of giving her the cell phone had been, in her head. She shrugged it off, and tilted her head and wink at him. It was a greeting as his nod had been, but it had a darker meaning as well. It was an action that Becky would not see, and it was meant only as a gesture to let him know what her intentions were with the girl.
Salem had wanted to enjoy her alone, but now that he was there, she wondered whether or not he would also want to enjoy the woman with her.
Her attention returned to the female, who had just begun explaining to Daken, even though he had not asked her, how she had gotten there. About that time, Becky had vanished, leaving behind a curious green mist.
Soon enough, she would return with the most adorable expression of embarrassment on her face, which would force a faint chuckle from Salem. To anyone who understood social hints, it would have been obvious that Salem really liked the girl.
"See, she's magical."
Salem echoed jokingly, turning her head to look back at Daken over her shoulder as she spoke, saying it to him.
Her attention quickly returned to Becky, who was going on about being in trouble and how she doubted everyone would hate her like she had been taught.
"You're among friends."
She softly offered, seeking to comfort her as she vocally expressed worry.

Daken was standing behind Salem and had planned to completely ignore the other girl until she started speaking to him to answer the question that he had intended to be for Salem. She began to ramble, and just as Daken glanced over at her, he would see only some green mist before she went into the air, then vanished again to return to where she had been.
"A teleporter, huh..."
"I see that."
Daken thought to himself before he spoke in response to Salem's talk of her being magical as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"I won't tell a soul."
Daken muttered without any emotion behind the words to assure her that using her powers was okay and nobody was out to get her. He would then tune the girl out, hearing nothing more than constant chattering, as he thought about the dozens of different uses he could have for someone whom could teleport. It was as if the treasure chest that he had struggled to beat open for far too long now had the key sitting right on top of it. He could reach his hand out and take it right now if he wanted to, but he knew better than that, as there were always traps awaiting fools who stumbled anxiously onto such obvious glory.
After a few moments of thinking, he turned his back to the two girls, leaning forward to rest his forearms on the railing of the walkway that looked out over the water. He would continue to play through different ideas in his head, trying to plan the perfect strategy to use this girl for, but her non stop talking was making it difficult. He leaned his head down as his hands came up, elbows remaining on the railing, holding his head as he tried to drown the girl out.

"thank you i don't know if i would get in to trouble from the school the teachers are very stern on us using our powers in the wrong situation. Thank i would love to practice any thing i am all for learning new things in fact some people say that is all i am good for that and doing tax returns and other mathematical things. Its not magic at all, all it is, is i am able to brake down my body to a sub molecular level and transmit my atoms to another location then resemble it at the location. Its along with several ideas that some scientist have that transportation on mass is possible."
Mist had no clue the girl was flirting with her. In fact she just thought she was being nice and helpful, by helping her gain new experience. she was glad that the two of them were not going to tell any one she did not want teh drama or the fuss that would bring. "all though there is a woman one of the teachers at school who is said to be a witch but i think that it is more a fact no one understands what she is able to do and so just call her a witch. There is the fact she nasty and threatens people that she will turn them in to a toad. I have Never known any one that she done that to so it may just be story's you know how that happens one person says one thing and then the next. It was like my old school one of the boy was said to be having an affair with a teacher when in fact it was nothing like that she was just helping pass his classes with extra lessons. "
she took a few seconds to catch her breath as she looked at the other two the man seamed as if he was bored and would rather be doing anything but being here. he had probably just had a long day at work or some thing after all both of them were nice and needed some rest or some thing like that. Becky never really knew that point when she should just stop talking to her it all seamed important and her mind always raced. she could not hold a straight line of thought no matter how hard she tried. Right now her mind was jumping from this conversation to her maths home work then to some other meaningless idea.

"That's interesting. I like that you know how it works."
Salem said softly, trying to keep up with the little chatter box. Soon enough, though, that became impossible. She glanced back over her shoulder to see Daken seemingly doing everything he could to ignore her. She could not help but to be amused by his reaction.
"You okay?"
She asked him, her amusement with the situation evident in her tone. Whatever it was he had come here for, it had to have been important, or surely he would have left.
The girl went on about her school, and Salem listened to her every word. When she paused to catch her breath, Salem took the chance to speak.
"Have you had dinner yet, Becky?"
She asked, knowing it would bring some huge, unneeded speech that would eventually answer her question.

Daken's hand gripped his scalp as the girl continued to talk, going on and on about it all. Normally, he would be impressed by her knowing exactly how her powers worked, as that was more than most could say, especially Salem. Not only was this girl annoying as hell and never shutting up, but Salem too was enjoying it and taking humor in the fact that it was pissing him off. He growled quietly to himself, and just as the redheaded girl spoke her last words, Daken snarled angrily at her, surprised at how much this girl could talk about nothing.
"Will. You. Shut. Up!"
He yelled before turning around and thrusting his arms outward as two metal claws burst out from each hand, instinctively trying to murder the young girl. However, Salem was in the way, and although he had reflexes quick enough to catch his mistake, he decided not to, knowing that she could heal, and figuring that her toxin would help shut the girl up even more quickly. His claws would go straight through her biceps of each arm, the foot long blades piercing straight through one side and coming out the other to lightly stab the girl on the other side of Salem. It would make her bleed, but was not too severe, but being mixed with Salem's toxin blood would sure add a hell of a kick to it.
After doing so, he retracted his claws into his arm and let his arms fall down at his sides, a light tingling sensation in his hands and forearms being felt for a split second before it vanished. He then took a deep breath, watching the two, waiting to see what would happen now, and hoping that the girl would shut up.

Becky let out a scream as claws came out of the man. she was not a fool and knew what was happening. even though her brain knew her body could not react quick enough she felt a pain in each of her shoulder blades as the objects went in to her. Her whole arms were burning as she slumped down. She never been stabled or shot before this was all new to her but one thing she could tell was her body was in a lot of pain.
She looked up shocked at the two of them that this had happened. her body vanished in a puff of green smoke the last look on her face was of being upset that it had happened.

It came with a pop as they burst from her skin. She was in a mild state of shock, seeing them press through her just to shut the little female up. Her body tensed, and though the stab had obvious hurt, she refused to allow herself to express that pain. The only sign that she let slip, was digging her teeth into her bottom lip. For a moment, she had not realized where it was he had gone through, and then it sank it all too quickly.
Her grey hues locked on the claws that had pierced right through her arms, and scratched the little cutie in front of her. Barely any of her blood had been pushed from the wound. Instead, it leaked something far more deadly. Her mouth hung agape, and she realized just what the idiot behind her had done. Watching the blades, she saw the clear venom poured from the her wounds and down into the scars on the girl. He pulled them out, and she scanned her arms themselves over with her eyes. The holes were not healing at all, and with a long sigh, she quickly grasped why.
"Becky, I'm venomous."
Salem warned her in the coldest of tones. She was not worried for the life of the girl, rather, she was simply cautioning her. In truth, Salem could have cared less if the female lived anymore at that point, or died right there with her. She had known he would hurt her, that had never been a doubt in her mind. She had never feared the idea, and had even come to expect such a thing in the future. However, she knew that the affects of this attack was to be unknown to him. After all, they were unknown to her. This had been a mistake, surely, but the effect was the same. Without turning, she addressed him.
"Daken..."
Her voice was low, but it seethed with venom dripping as his name was spat from her lips. She was angry, far more so than ever before. The way he had forced her rage back at his apartment a few days earlier to illustrate his abilities to her paled dimly when compared to this. She wanted to turn and strike him even though it would do her no good. Of course, she could not do so. It was taking everything in her just to stay standing. She only wished she could suck him in to it, drag him down along side her so that he too could suffer as she surely would. She truly hoped that, when his time came, he would have a seat next to her in hell so she could watch his torment. At this very moment, nothing could have brought her greater joy. For Becky, who was standing in front of her, her hatred and cruel intent would be clearly displayed on her once beautiful, now twisted features just before she vanished.
These dark thoughts toward the man she had been sleeping with, the man she had come to admire greatly, were brought on because she instantly knew what was going to happen to her now. The venom would savagely take her, it would destroy her utterly, and she would suffer again as she had so many years before until she passed out, and died. She had never had the sacks punctured though, yet she some how knew this to be her fate, her very end. Deep inside, she knew these were her last few moments. She would spend them in a crowd, yet she would be cold and alone. In them, she would lament and hate him bitterly until she was dead and gone.
The rhythmic beating in her chest began to slow as the venom rapidly swept through her slender frame. She lost the ability to hold herself up, and she was on her knees without any means to stop herself from falling. Then, she found herself curling tighter and tighter into a ball on the bridge below their feet, as the pain ripped through her. The pain, that suffering incomparable to anything in this world ravaged her insides. She squeezed her knees to her bust and held them as tightly as she could. Her eyes snapped shut, and the teeth digging at her lip soon broke the skin and caused her to bleed.
So, this was it? She would die in silence, having no names worthy of crying out as she passed away. No god to pray to, no family or great love to tell good bye? She could feel herself slipping into the blackness, soon she would pass out and be gone. She chuckled softly through the pain. With her dying breath, she would throw him an insult, she would attempt in vain to hurt him, despite her own torture. No, she would not die quietly. With her last breath, she would speak it, even if it were meaningless and would do nothing to him. Perhaps, she only wanted to say it to comfort herself.
"I've had better..."
She said, still softly laughing. A smirk slowly forming on her features. A second later, she was out. Her body could not take anymore of the immense pain, so she had been forced once again into a coma. Laying there, the ball she had curled into loosened. She went from tortured creature to woman at last at peace. Her heart beat had slowed to a crawl, barely making a sound at all to anyone with ears that could hear it. Salem was dying, Salem was soon to be gone forever....Or so she had assumed. Once again, her body desperately fought to survive. As it had done to combat her venom, it would now do again to keep her moving in this world. A new form of healing would come of this, and it would carry its own side effects.
Perhaps it was the rage or the hatred she had harbored toward him in those final moments, or it was simply just because he was the closest to her. Whatever it was, the reason would remain unclear. Coursing through his veins was her blood type and it could save her... She was to be completely unaware of everything that would happen beyond this point. Unknown to her, He was to be her very first victim.
Numbness would push through him, and he would not be able to move. His blood would suddenly all flow inward toward his heart. A powerful pressure would be felt in his chest, along side a horrendous pain possibly worse than any he had ever felt. With a quick burst, a vast amount of blood would leap from him and pour into the wounds he had given her. In that moment, it would have been every single drop of blood his body would contain. In that same second, below, the sounds of glass shattering filled the chilly night air, followed by the screech of tires. It, too, flew up and into her wounds. Her heart began to race in her chest as it pumped the new blood through to filter her system of the venom.
In seconds, it was over. The wounds had closed fully, but left behind two sets of scars on her arms. Now, completely out cold, Salem lay there sleeping peacefully. Her body healed and perfectly fine.
All in all, Salem had taken the crimson juice from three people, including Daken. Four more would instantly die in the crashes below, and at least two would be injured.

Daken remained standing completely still as he stared at the two, Salem warning the girl before the obnoxious one screamed and teleported away. Salem then turned around and stared at him, muttering his name with more anger than he could ever ever imagined within the woman. He completely ignored her little joke as she fell and curled in pain, his eyebrow arching as he stared silently at her, wondering why she was overreacting so much. He knew she could heal, and the arms were nothing fatal, even to those that could not repair their own bodies.
"Uh..."
A sound slipped out of Daken's mouth as it drifted open, quite confused as to what the hell was happening. Never in his life has he killed someone via stabbing them in the arms, especially a mutant with an accelerated healing ability. She collapsed and her heart beat faded, then stopped. As soon as it did, Daken blinked, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
"What... The... Fu-"
He started to ask himself when suddenly he felt a pulse that overwhelmed his body, before everything went red, then black. Following that, he felt as if his entire body had exploded out of his sternum. It was the worst pain he had felt in his entire life, but as it all happened within a fraction of a second, it was too quick for him to even express his pain. His body drained of every drop of blood, he would fall face first, slamming into the ground. It was not something that would kill him, and his healing would soon restore the complete blood loss, but it was enough to instantly knock him unconscious, so he lied beside her, just as helpless as she was.
About five minutes later, a groan would escape from the seemingly lifeless male as he regained consciousness. His hands slid upward toward his head, arms shaking as he pushed himself up to slowly, then rose to his feet as his knees shook also. Bringing a hand up to his head, he held it tightly as he looked up at Salem, whom was still unconscious on the ground. She looked perfectly fine other than some scars where he had stabbed her, which was certainly weird, but he was more concerned with what had happened just now.
He wanted to figure it out, to prevent it from happening again, but for now he knew that leaving the public scene would be the best bet. Kneeling down, he slipped his arms under her shoulders and knees, picking her up with him as he stood again and started walking off. He would stay silent and not look down at her once, his ears picking up her heartbeat letting him know that she was just fine.
