Zack sighed as he entered the locker room. He needed a good session in the danger room to get his stress out. After hearing the news from his Mother, he was not in a nice mode. He needed to crush somethings. He was going to do just that. He entered the Danger Room Controls Area and set it to a pretty high level. This was going to be interesting. Was he trying to kill himself? Was he trying to see his mother again? He didn't know but he was ready to destroy. He walked into the Danger Room and waited for the simulation to start. ~This is going to be hell~ He smiled as he waited.

Kitty, suited for battle and stepping out of the girl's locker room, hadn't noticed that the Danger Room was already humming, ready to begin a session...but she hadn't set it to anything yet.
She faltered in her step as the world around her began to change for the session. The automated computer voice rang out that the session was beginning at a level Kitty never would have set for today. Her abilities were acting up more than usual today and it would be dangerous for her to start such a high level, though her intrigue to push herself too far was high, she knew when wasn't the time. Today wasn't that day. Yet the Danger Room began and she had not even known what session it was set for.
She crouched, ready, and saw several shadows at the edges of the room move and twist strangely like a dream. A nightmare.
"Oh shi......" She felt one reach up and grab her from behind, cold to the touch yet it wasn't there to be touched. Kitty let out a yelp and phased out of it and freeing herself. Phasing through the shadow felt...strange. It was cold and awkward and tendrils of it still clung to her like smoke that had a mind of its own. Kitty darted away from it, dodging more. "Danger Room! Session Shut Down!" Why wasn't it heeding her command? A large shadow stood high in front of her like a giant monster ready to eat her whole. She gasped, was Kitty going to perish in the Danger Room by accident? She hadn't even told anyone that she was going to practice....
"Oh gosh..."

Zack cursed under his breath when Kitty entered just as the session was about to begin. Suddenly weird shadows sprung out. Zack smiled, this was his domain. The Shadows lunged at him and attacked him but there were his to command and thus easily avoided them. However, whilst he was engrossed in his task, he heard Kitty yell for the Danger Room to stop. ~Shit. I can't let her die~ Zack cursed under his breath as he rapidly appeared behind Kitty, coming from her shadow. While in the Shadow World, he had gotten Grim. The Black Scythe shone in his hands as he sliced at the looming Shadow Figure. A blast of light erupted from the figure as it was cleansed. With no time to waste, Zack grabbed Kitty and sunk jumped to a close shadow, sinking into it with her. Kitty sunk with him and they arose into a world of White. He looked at her, "Are you okay?"

Kitty gasped, watching Zack appear and slaughter the Shadow before her just before grabbing her and slinking into a shadow, taking her with him. In the world of white, she caught her breath, looking around for the shadows. "What...you started the Danger Room?" She tested her abilities in their new world, no, she couldn't phase. It wasn't like she'd know where she'd end up if she did phase, but the idea that she couldn't made her upset. "Why can't I phase here? Where is here?" she tried to slow her breathing. Fear had gripped her with an icy fist. The Shadows terrified her, part of her nightmares. They chased her often and she'd sink into them, unable to stop herself or stop phasing to stop her from phasing away and never returning.

Zack sighed as he made her sit down. He looked at her for a quick second and blushed. ~Not the time, Zack~ "Alright, this is the Shadow World. This is...my domain. Yeah, I guess you could call it that. The Shadow World is another dimension that exists outside of ours but is connected to ours through shadows. I have suspicion that one other being can move through this world. But that's not something you need to know. What you do need to know is that you can't phase here as there is nothing to phase into. The only matter that currently exists right now is I, you, and my scythes. This is an empty world. Nothing exists here but what I want to exist here. Although there are some exceptions, this is generally the case. This world can be entered into by sinking or diving into a shadow. Once here, I have knowledge of every Shadow that exists in the world and am able to appear out of which ever I want. Time does not exist here. Infinity will not enter this room. Neither does space truly exist in here. Eternity does not see this room." He helped her stand up after he was sure she was okay. "Are you ready to leave?"

She nodded slowly, "But...why are you setting the Danger Room on such a high level?" She tilted her head to one side, eying him carefully with her large brown eyes. She took one step forward, her hand raising of its own accord to stroke back the tousled dark hair from his face. He always was cheerful, happy...but she knew the shadows in his eyes meant something more. "I'm not stupid, Zack...you're hiding something in you. Why are you so hard on yourself?" She squinted to see past the viel in his eyes. "Why are you doing this to yourself?"

Zack blushed at her touch. He involuntarily took her hand and held it against his face. Her touch was warm. Warmth...Something he hadn't felt in a while. He held her hand to his face and looked into her eyes. He then realized what he was doing and let go, turning around with his back to her. "I...I...I just needed to get some stress out. I'm okay, I really am." He turned around, flashing her a fake smile. He hated to lie to her but he was scared. He was scared that she'd think he was a monster. He didn't know what to do so he lied. "There's nothing wrong. I'm all better. Really, I am." His smile didn't fully reach his eyes nor were his eyes lively. They seemed sad and distant. They were cold. Cold and lonely.

Kitty frowned. She knew the fake smile trick, she used it all the time. She was a ghost in life, a wallflower that sunk so far behind the rest of the world that she vanished from it. Zack felt the same way, like he was just a shadow to the world, or that's at least what Kitty gathered. His hand on hers had felt so nice, a touch that took in hers with great care. Yet he'd pulled away and turned away.
She shook her head, "Fine, take us back, but don't think for one second that your fake smile tricks me at all. If you'd rather hide...fine." She lowered her head, looking to the floor with a frown. Part of her wanted to make him stop hiding, to pull him from the shadows, but it wasn't her place. Some people liked it better to hide, like her, so why would she have the indecency to make him unable to hide while she hid?

Zack saw was about to say something when he saw familiarity in her eyes. He saw the same eyes that he had seen in the mirror so many times. ~Could she know?~ Her eyes were downcast as she frowned. He felt a pang that he hadn't felt in a long time. He felt a pang of warmth, burning at his insides. It called out to be satisfied. It willed him to move. ~What am I doing?~ Without a word he moved involuntarily. He wasn't expecting any of this. ~Why did she have to get so damn nosy? Those eyes...why did she have to have those eyes?~ Tears rolled down his face but he wasn't even aware. His body moved on instinct and need rather than voluntary thought. He raised her beautiful chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes. God, he was falling in love with those eyes. He stared at his reflection, taking it all in. He saw himself crying but did nothing to stop it. Rather, he moved closer. He closed his eyes and leaned closer as his lips gently touched hers and took her into a gentle kiss. He pulled back and blushed, stepping back. His eyes were wide, surprised at what he had done. "I...I...I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to..."

His hand under her chin lifted her gaze to him and she let out a small gasp. No, she couldn't face him right now, not yet. She wasn't ready. Yet when their eyes met, she couldn't look away. His dark eyes captured her brown ones and held them. Somewhere, in her perephiral vision, she saw the glint of tears at his cheek and for a moment thought they were her own because the sting at her eyes felt like tears were already falling.
No, don't look there, don't look deeper. Yet he was, he was searching her eyes as if he'd found something important, something he'd stared at every day yet couldn't understand what it was he was looking at sometimes. She couldn't hide, here, in the white room, from his dark eyes, he saw it all.
Suddenly, his mouth grew closer and she hadn't even realized it before she felt his breath against her skin. His lips touched hers and she lost herself to the taste of a sin so tempting it robbed her of breath. The world around them melted way like wet pstels and she bit back her whimper.
But his lips suddenly stilled and left her bereft.
"I...I...I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to..." he said, turning away from her.
"You did." She replied, stern. Though, her body ached to feel his lips again. "You meant to, and I wouldn't have it any other way." Her voice held the whisps of sincerity, begging him to hear them and understand that she spoke the truth.

Zack was about to say something when he heard her response. In that second everything stopped. It was her and him. Just the two in their own little world. He looked at her, searching to see if what she spoke was true. ~...~ His mind was blank and he relied only on instinct. In a second he was in front of her as he kissed her, over and over again. He kissed her as if she was the elixir of life that he needed in order to live again. His hands caressed her face, holding her as if he so desperately needed her. Her body so close and her lips so sweet, he felt warm. He couldn't help what he felt. It wasn't love. It wasn't lust. It was pure need. It was the need to feel warm and to forget the loneliness. Finally he pulled back, panting and out of breath. "Wow...I'm sorry. I..I..I'll tell you everything if you really want to." His eyes looked at her, searching for doubt. He searched for any signs of regret in her eyes.

Kitty felt her whole body respond when he returned for multiple kisses. It was like she'd waited for just that the entire time. But as she enjoyed his kisses, she felt him grow hungrier for her. It was nice, but the warmth he gave her, slowly seemed to seep away from her, like it was being leached away. The more she focused on it disappearing from her, the more she felt it leaving her faster and faster as Zack kissed her deeper and deeper.
Her eyes fluttered lightly and she felt her body go weaker the more she was drained. "Wai....wait." She thought enough to wrap her arm around the back of his neck, holding onto him weakly as her legs began to give out. "Z-zack..."

Zack felt her getting weaker and weaker and held tight to her. His face became stern and focused. He held her tight, "Don't even think about it." He was referring to Kitty falling and to his mother. He was telling her that she would not take Kitty. "Kitty, it's going to be alright. Okay? I'm not letting you go anywhere without me." He wasn't about to let her go and held on tighter. As Grim laid on the floor, it faded away. Zack held Kitty tight, her head on his shoulder. "Close your eyes." Soon they would be in her room. He gently placed her on her bed and looked at her, "You okay?" She would probably feel really sleepy after being drained but would not be too bad. Death would not touch her. She was his. She was his and his alone.

Kitty blinked, though the blink felt like it took forever. Had she lost consciousness or just lost track of things in her mind? When her eyes reopened, she saw glimpses of her bedroom around her. Zack was talking to her, murmuring in her ear, but she could barely make out what he was saying. Her insides felt chilly, like her soul itself had been iced over gently. It was hard to connect with her body, to feel anything around her.
"Zack?" Her voice sounded strange, distant to her. She felt a little something, her bed under her she later realized. "The...Danger Room....what about..." Her thoughts weren't making any sense to her. Nothing was working how it should have been. Sound didn't echo right, feeling didn't add up correctly. What was wrong with her? She opened her eyes and saw glimpses of her surroundings, but it didn't look right. Zack wasnt holding her, it was a strange shadowy shape with hollow eyes. Every shadow in her dark room seemed to move yet didn't.
Fear gripped her, she pushed away at the shadow man in front of her weakly. "No, you're not...something's wrong. Who are you?"

Eternity stood in front of Kitty as she was now unconscious. He had brought her to an Astral plane but it still resembled her room. She would find that she could not focus in on him. He was eternity. No matter how hard she looked she would not be able to focus in, only seeing his vague outline. He smiled at her. "Hello, my child. I am Eternity. I am the embodiment of all that is living. I have come to ask give you a task. Zack, the young child you have met is a strange figure. His mother, is Death. Do not ask me any questions about his life as that is his story to tell. He came into existence of my will. He has a destiny he must accomplish. He was born of human and of Death. He is something that should not have been but I allowed to be brought forth. He is not aware of my involvement nor is he aware of how he came into being. Your task is not to tell him. He is a dark soul. He is burdened with Death. He will be consumed by Darkness lets he see light. If his Darkness is from my sister, Death, then the Light must come from myself. I have bestowed upon you an Eternal Light. As long as you are with him he will not waver. You are his anchor, the light that keeps him grounded. He needs you, my child. At first you will feel drained but soon you will be accustomed to it and no longer feel drained. It is possible that the fate of all living things rest in your hands. Now go to him, go to him, my child." Kitty would find herself slowly waking up.
