Rogue had just heard that Xavier made Bobby in charge of the Xmen. She wasn't sure how she felt about that. Bobby could definately do it. She knew that. As long as he didn't let his rivarly with Pyro get in the way of his usual logical thinking. She did wonder though what was going on though. She had gotten so used to Xavier running everything. Now she was in charge of the students and Bobby was in charge of the Xmen. If she didn't know any better it seemed either Xavier was preparing to die, or preparing to leave, or something big was going down that needed his entire attention which no one knew about. She tried not to think about it though. She knew she should just focus on her newly appointed position. It definately felt good to have a purpose for once. To be needed. She actually felt human for the first time since she got her mutant ability. It was definately a refreshing change. Rogue was currently in the middle of looking over all the new student files. She knew soon she would have to tell everyone of her new position. Well, the first person she knew she should probably tell was Bobby. It would only be polite.
Biting her bottom lip she padded out of her room as she sent a text message to Bobby, asking him if he wanted to sit with her at dinner. She of course stated as friends. She didn't want to hurt him by getting his hopes up by not stating it wasn't as a date. She slipped her phone into her hoody pocket before focusing on the route ahead of her. As Rogue neared the dinner room she could see the students and teachers already sitting down for dinner whilst some were gathering food onto their plates. This time of day definately made the mansion feel more like a school then a home at other times she felt it was. Then again this whole place was unconventional. Still, it was nice to have a normal bit of school life in there, even if it was a huge room which resembled a caferteria for everyone to eat their main meals. Pushing open the doors she quietly walked over to where the food was. Grabbing a plate and a bowl, she poured some stew and dumplings into the bowl, and put a freshly baked bread roll and butter on the plate. She put both on a tray, grabbed some cutlery, and then grabbed a bottle of pepsi max before looking around for a free table.
Spotting one near the back, Rogue padded over to it before sitting down. Grabbing her spoon she dug into her stew, enjoying the warm food. It was definately refreshing to the bitter cold outside.

Bobby came back to his room after an intense training session he was hot and sweaty. Bobby was also tired, he was probably just gonna shower and then take a nap, he wasn't planning to go to dinner.
As Bobby was about to get into the shower, his phone started buzzing. Bobby glanced over at his phone, it was a text from Rogue, what'd she want? Bobby read the text, his heart skipped a beat, but then he realized she wanted to hang out as friends, oh well Bobby would deal, whatever it was it was probably important.
Bobby finished his shower, slipped a blue polo and some slacks on, and headed down to the dinner room. Bobby grabbed his food, and found Rogue no trouble, Rogue was in the back, of course.
Bobby sat down opposite Rogue, and took a few bites of his sandwich. "So, what do you want" Sitting at a meal with Rogue, things almost felt normal again.

Rogue found herself biting her bottom lip as she watched Bobby come over. Despite everything she still knew how attractive he was. There wasn't one inch of him that wasn't good looking - well the parts of him she had seen anyway. When he spoke she found herself feeling a little hurt. He had gotten straight to the point which was good, she appreciated that, but... Rogue couldn't deny she still cared for him. To not hear him talking in his sweet way when they had been together... It was unusual. She knew she should have expected it, and did, but she hadn't expected how it would make her feel. Rogue forced herself to ignore all that for now and just focus on why she and Bobby were having this conversation.
"Um... Professor Xavier... he made me in charge of all students, and ah heard he made you in charge of the Xmen... Ah thought it would be respectful to let ya know about my change, so if we need to work together or anything, well ya'd know... Also, ah didn't want you to find out through someone else, and not first..."
Rogue rambled, and then realised she was doing so. Sighing she ran a hand through her hair, flustered.
"Ahm sorry. Ahm rambling."

It was odd talking to Rogue, Bobby felt like it was almost like she was caught off guard by his directness. Rogue's face was often a blank slate but Bobby had always been able to read it.
Bobby had heard of Rogue's new position, but it was nice of her to fill him in all the same. Rogue was nervous and flustered, and it was cute, Rogue was always gorgeous, but she was rarely cute, it was a nice change.
"Sure Rogue, I'd love to work together, It'll be great. I actually am supposed to hand pick the next Generation of X-Men, so I'll need your help with that."
Bobby was glad, he'd be working closely with Rogue, and he was grinning his well known smile, with a twinkle in his eyes. "Well now that we're done with business, how have you been, we haven't really talked outside of training and missions."

"Sure, ah'd love to help you with that. Ahm actually gonna meet with all the students tomorrow to tell them of meh new position... So after that ah can get to know them better, and ah'll see who ah think would be good prospects."
Rogue responded, excitement in her eyes at being able to actually help run this place. She couldn't even begin to describe how great she felt now she had a purpose. Sure, her self worth and self confidence wasn't as much as it could be yet, but for once she didn't feel depressed or lost or a burden. She felt useful for once. She actually almost felt like she belonged now. It was such a good feeling.
She scooped up some more stew, finding the meal delicious. Rogue ended up blushing a little though when she saw Bobby giving her that smile with the twinkle in his eyes she could remember falling for when they first met. He had never had to try hard to seduce her. John and Bobby were the first people she got close too. It had hurt Rogue when John had joined the Brotherhood, abandoning her. She had never said it though. Bobby had always been loyal... Well, besides a kiss with Kitty when he had frozen the fountain. Rogue had never mentioned she saw it. She didn't want to hurt her friends by saying she knew. What good would it do anyway? It wasn't as if friends were easy to come by for Rogue, and besides, she couldn't blame either of them. Bobby was an easy guy to fall for, and it must have been hard for Bobby to be with her and unable to touch her. He couldn't even hold her hand without gloves. No, she didn't blame either of them. She infact hoped them all the happiness in the world.
"Um, ahm okay. Ya know how it is... Ah've been feeling better since my latest session with Professor Xavier. Not only did he give me this new job, we may have finally discovered a new discovery on meh ability. Ah never really thought about how my power felt when it was working 'cos ah was too busy panicking over hurting someone. We think meh ability is both mental and physical. Its like... its off when no one is touching me, but the second there is a point of skin to skin contact, its like this energy sparks to life and bolts right to the point of contact... Xavier wants to do more tests, and ah honestly can't wait."

Bobby listened to what Rogue had to say, it was wonderful, and to think she could fin a solution, Bobby would love for Rogue to find a solution, he'd love for people to be able to touch her. Bobby remembered the times he'd kissed Rogue, it had been magical, despite her powers Bobby had enjoyed the kiss, and it was worth every bit of pain. Bobby listened to Rogue talk, her accent was divine, it sent shivers up Bobby's spine, he could listen to her forever.
"That is great news, I wish you the best, I hope one day you can touch people again, and remember I'm always here for you too." Bobby meant every word he said.

"Thank ya Bobby. That means a lot to meh."
Rogue responded softly. She wished she could place a kiss on his cheek in thanks. Unfortunately she would hurt him if she did. What she would give just be able to have a hand shake. She inhaled deeply, forcing herself not to cry and let her emotions get the better of her. She finished off her lunch before looking back up at Bobby. She cared for him so much. Sometimes she wished she could fix his relationship with John and stop their rivalry. She wasn't sure how she would start even going about doing that.
"Do ya wanna hang out Bobby? Ahm not doing anything, and we haven't gotten to spend much time together."

Bobby looked at Rogue, he could tell something was bothering her, Bobby really wanted to comfort her, and though he didn't mind having her drain him a little, it was worth it. Bobby had an idea though, he'd been working on his organic ice, he couldn't do his whole body on command, but he should be able make his hand organic ice, it wasn't easy but he could do it, and maybe organic ice would be more resilient to Rogue's touch. Bobby really wanted to stroke Rogue's cheek, but he was sure that woul be crossing a line.
Bobby focused on his hand, and soon he felt all his skin on the hand, all the bone, all the muscle crystalize into ice. Bobby reached out towards her cheek, before diverting his hand awkwardly to her upper arm. Bobby felt the drain, but it was much weaker, easily barable, like his power was slowly draining away. "Hey I'd love to, I've really missed you." Bobby pulled his hand away, as it began to hurt, there were patches of skin where ice had been, so this method wasn't perfect, but at least he had touched her. Bobby allowed his hand to return to normal.

Rogue sighed softly, her eyes fluttered closed, as she leaned into Bobby's solid ice hand on her cheek. She couldn't help it. She had missed him, and god did she miss being able to touch. When his hand left her cheek she opened her eyes to look up at him. Sometimes, Rogue did wonder why he put himself through such pain just to touch her. She didn't understand it. She did however of course appreciate it. Standing up, Rogue grabbed her dishes, went to the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher before returning to Bobby's side. Flexing her fingers hidden within her elbow length gloves, she then looked to Bobby with a soft smile. He looked really good today. Then again he always did.
"Ah've missed you too. So, do ya wanna just walk around the grounds for a bit?"

Bobby knew Rogue couldn't understand why he'd let her hurt him, it was an odd situation, one had to balance pain and pleasure. Bobby knew though, that if Rogue was ever go ing to gain control of her powers, she needs contact, love, and human interaction, Bobby was willing to give all three.
When Rogue left to put her dishes away, Bobby quickly fixed his clothes, and his hair before following suit, this was nice, even if they never got back together, Bobby still wanted to look nice.
Bobby took Rogue's arm, "Shall we retire to the grounds, m'lady? according to Bobby chivalry was not dead, and with those words he proceeded to accompany Rogue to the grounds.

Rogue couldn't help but blush at Bobby's words as he took her arm. He was so sweet, and a gentleman. In all her time she couldn't really find one flaw about him, but then again she was probably biased.
"Ah'd like that kind sir."
She responded playfully, continuing with the little game Bobby had started. She made sure their skin wasn't touching before walking by his side out of the mansion. Rogue blinked a few times as she got used to the sunlight pouring over the landscape. It was definately hot today. She glanced at the students in crop tops and shorts, enving them. Still, it could not be helped. She had to cover up to protect everyone. It was how things would always be. She couldn't even go swimming incase she touched someone. It would be nice to go swimming again. It had been years. What hobbies could she take up that didn't require being anything but covered up? Then it came to her; horse riding.
"Bobby, do ya think Xavier would be interested in setting up a stables on the ground so the students could learn to horse ride, and go horse riding in their spare time?"

Bobby watched Rogue blush, she was so beautiful, Bobby wanted to reach out and kiss her, but that wasn't right. Bobby led Rogue towards the stables, he couldn't believe Rogue didn't know these were here.
"My dearest lady, here are our most elegant stables, does my lady know how to ride a horse?"

"Wow. Now ah feel stupid. Ah never knew these were here."
Rogue responded, blushing from her head to toe. She jogged excitedly to the paddocks where the horses were grazing. Her face lit up as she watched the various breeds, ages, and colours of horses grazing, running, and playing. There were even mothers and foals, as well as pregnant mares. It was every girl's little dream to own a horse or pony, and Rogue was no different. Although she did want a puppy as well - a landseer ( black and white ) newfoundland puppy. Unfortunately she never did have the money to buy one. She glanced over at Bobby with a happy smile as he spoke. She had never gotten lessons to ride a horse. Her adoptive parents had been middle class so had never been able to afford it. That, and they were hours away from the nearest stable where they had lived. Rogue looked back out at the horses with a wistful look.
"Nah. Ah've never learned to ride. Always wanted to though."

Bobby thought it was adorable how Rogue hadn't known where the stables were, in fact he even let out a laugh. "I'm glad you don't know how to ride, because if you did, I would have been obliged to take you and I don't know how to ride at all. Talking to you has been really nice, it feels like the old days again."
Bobby missed the days when Rogue and him were together, but good had come from it, Bobby had experience and knew how to read girls now. He wouldn't be caught off guard by a kiss like that again, and he wouldn't let his girlfriend go get a cure either, he would be there this time.

"Oh. Thats a shame. Ah'd like to learn how to ride."
Rogue responded, before shrugging. Maybe someone else in the mansion knew how to ride? Then again, was there anyone - even if they did know how to ride - willing to teach her? Probably not. She bit her bottom lip briefly as she folded her arms on the top of the fence. She rested her head on her arms as she simply watched the horses. She felt a lot more at peace here with the horses. Animals wouldn't shy away from you because of gossip or what you were. Animals only judged you on your heart, and Rogue's was as pure as it could get. Animals couldn't taunt her either or say bad things. Nope. They were just happy as long as you didn't hurt them. Such simple yet interesting and majestic creatures. Yes, this could easily become her new favourite spot to be at. Hide out. She then realised Bobby had said something else. She glanced briefly at him, only moving her eyes, before looking back at the horses as she spoke.
"Mmm. Old days."
