That dream had definately startled Rogue. Of course it wasn't just a dream. It had been one of Logan's memories - one she was sure he did not remember. It made her think his memories were still inside him, there was just some kind of block in his head that stopped him from remembering. For some reason that hadn't stopped her skin from absorbing it. There had been a heartbreakingly attractive man. She hadn't caught his name, but from the way he fought, and got into places, it was clear he was formidable. In the memory he had helped Logan when no one else could. It gave Rogue the clear impression that he was someone who was privy to secretive information all around the world. He was the most likely person who would know about William Stryker and what happened to his project. He might even know about 'X' and Adam. Rogue had come to a decision - she was going to find him.
Fortunately, she knew from the memory one place she could start her search. New Orleans. So, Rogue had gone to Xavier, told him she would be away for the weekend on a personal trip, and left. She had left a note for Logan - she had a feeling he would have tagged along or stopped her from going if she had talked to him face to face. She had rented out a simple rusty red toyota pick-up truck, with her duffel bag on the passenger seat, and drove out to New Orleans from Westchester. Rogue just hoped the guy wasn't as attractive as he had been in the memory. She may not be able to touch, and withdrawn, but she was still a woman who had been denied the ability to ever touch. She had hormones. Sighing deeply she shook her head as she turned on the radio. She listened as J-Lo and Pitbull blasted through the radio, filling up the truck. The song provided a decent enough distraction. She had to focus. She was doing this for everyone elses safety. She had to protect Logan, and she was damn sure that Adam was up to something. It just didn't feel right to have him infiltrate Xavier's mansion just to spy on the Brotherhood.
Before long she was in New Orleans, and she was feeling hungry, restless, as well as perhaps a little tired. Now she just had to find this guy. Where could he be in New Orleans? It was a big place. Rogue couldn't help but feel a little at home though - she had missed the south having been raised in Mississippi since as far back as she could remember. She still had the southern accent, although that was nothing compared to the Cajun accent she could hear going on outside the truck. She inhaled deeply before parking the truck, taking out the key, and stepping out of the truck. She grabbed her duffel bag, closing her door and then locked the door of the truck up. Rogue then padded round to the back of the truck, unlocked the boot, and shoved her duffel bag inside before locking it back up. With that done she looked around. Spotting a bar, one that she wouldn't doubt held unsavoury people, Rogue knew that would be the best place to start. Those type of places always had gossipers, as she had learnt bar hopping with Logan.
Rogue glanced at her apparel, making sure she didn't stand out. Black elbow length gloves, black thin polo neck t-shirt, black jeggings, black ankle length leather boots, and a black leather jacket. Yep, she was all covered up and would blend in. Her firey red and white hair was securely tied back in a ponytail. Without hesitation she crossed the street and entered the bar. Rogue took in the place's punters, trying to spot those who looked like they would tell her what she wanted to know. None seemed safe approaching, so she decided to approach the bar. The bartender should be able to help. Leaning against the bar, she waited until he had come to her before she began to speak. She didn't want to be rude and distract his attention from someone else. Especially since she did not want to start or be in some kind of bar fight. Logan would never let her live it down.
"Hey, ahm looking for a friend. Medium length brown hair, slim muscular build, stupidly attractive, used to wear some kind of trench coat..."

The bar was dark and dirty, just the way he always liked them to be. Something about a bar being clean struck the man odd. Even though it might show some class, being clean and all, it still made his skin crawl. Dark and dirty. That was always his home, and he wouldn't change it for the world. Sitting in a back corner, Remy LeBeau propped his legs up on the old wooden table that was placed in front of him, allowing him to lean back a bit enough in his chair so it touched the corner of the wall behind him. His fedora was tipped far enough to cover his eyes from those around him, but allowing him enough daylight to catch a glimpse at his surroundings.
The bar wasn't as packed as it normally was at night, leaving spaces at the bar top empty for tourists or some of the regulars to come in and get their drinks, though he noted some of the usuals were already in, talking their heads off about stuff that had happened around town. As they talked, he lifted his head a bit to catch their speech, smiling as they mentioned robberies, break ins, and some of the killings that had happened around the city. All those things, or well nine out of ten, Remy was involved in. He had just taken over a sanction of his father's, or well adopted father's guild of thieves, a most prized reward for such good years of service to them all.
As the waitress made her rounds around to some of the tables that held one or two of the folks in the bar, the door opened with a light creaking noise, signaling a new arrival. Remy didn't do much as turn his head, but his eyes cocked sideways to catch a glimpse of firey red hair with a white stripe going through it as the girl made her way into the bar. This peaked his interest a bit, seeing as he had never seen such a woman walk in these parts of town. The waitress came by his table and dropped off a glass of scotch in his hand just as the newcomer made her way to the bar.
"Hey, ahm looking for a friend. Medium length brown hair, slim muscular build, stupidly attractive, used to wear some kind of trench coat..." The redheaded woman spoke up, causing Remy, to putt his feet down off the table and slightly choke a bit on the scotch he was just swallowing. "Well mon chérie you have come to th' righ' place." His thick Cajun accent filled the air. Remy rose up with it, his black trench coat that he wore over his blue silk shirt falling down to his ankles. As he walked towards the bar, his boots gave soft clicks against the hardwood flooring. "Is there something I can trouble you..eh...with?" He took in the girls image, studying her from the roots of her hair down to the tips of her shoes before giving her a sly, but rather charming smile. Remy stopped just a few feet from her, taking his scotch glass in hand and raising it to his lips, taking another swallow of the brown liquid.

He was here?! How had I not seen him before?! Rogue thought as she heard a silky smooth voice. Mentally, Rogue told herself to not appear flustered. It might not even be him... She turned her head casually, only to find her eye level with a silk shirt covering what she could imagine was a muscular chest. Forcing herself to focus she lifted her gaze up and to her relief ( as well as perhaps surprise ) there was the man who had been in Logan's memories. Rogue realised she hadn't even heard the man move - wherever he had been. He could sneak. That definately was a good thing in Rogue's opinion since she really wanted to learn. She had tried twice to sneak and both times had been caught. It was getting ridiculous, especially when she was trying to find out what trouble was going on without letting anyone else know there was trouble in the first place. This guy was even more attractive then the memories.
"Right. Ah mean yes. Uh, ah need information... Ahm friends with Logan, but he can't know ahm here. Is there... uh... somewhere sound proof we can go?"
She hated that she didn't sound cool and profession. In her defence though, she hadn't left the mansion since she had gotten her powers back after the cure was only temporary. Besides that, before that, she hadn't exactly been anything but a withdrawn wallflower anyway. Her ability didn't exactly make her life easy in any way. She was just glad that so far this guy wasn't getting too close. Rogue glanced briefly at the bartender who had gone off to serve someone else when the guy she had been looking for arrived. She had never really been a drinker. She had never really had the chance to have any alcohol. Mostly, because she was concerned if she drank too much, her state would cause her to hurt people by not being aware of when her skin ended up being revealed and touched. Rogue found herself looking over the guy again. He looked pretty much just like the memory. Only clearer, in focus, and up close. She found herself wondering if this guy was a mutant like Logan, or human. There was a lot she didn't know about this guy.
Rogue glanced over her shoulder and finally caught the eye of the bartender again. When he came over she ordered herself a bacardi and coke. Rogue really wanted just a coke, but with mr tall dark and handsome around she was concerned he would label her a kid - as Logan so affectionately called her. She had never had a bacardi and coke before, but she had heard other women order it before. It couldn't be too bad. Right? She bit her bottom lip as the bartender put it infront of her. She pulled a note out of the pocket of her jeggings and handed it over before grasping her glass. Glancing back at the guy she had been searching for, Rogue found herself wondering just what he kept in all the pockets of his trench coat. Maybe she could find out later. Of course he'd need to be unconcious or in another room without it on. She also found herself wishing he'd take his fedora off. Why not let people see his eyes?
"Ahm Rogue. Ah didn't catch your name..."
Of course Logan hadn't told her it either. Still, Rogue wanted the guy to have the impression Logan told her about him. She didn't want to tell him about her ability. One, she was sick and tired of the pityful and fear filled stares she'd get from it as well as everyone giving her a wide berth. Two... she really didn't want this guy to know. It had been a while since she had been looked at as if she was normal. She was in New Orleans, somewhere she had never been, and intended on having as normal of an experience as she could get. It would be nice to have a two day vacation. Of course she hoped she'd get the information she wanted in that time. She really didn't want this route to be a bust as well. Plus, it was nice meeting new people. Especially very attractive cajuns who could probably charm a penguin to buy ice. Definately seemed quite the opposite to Logan in Rogue's opinion.

It took a moment for the woman to respond, but when she did Remy noted her southern accent. "Right. Ah mean yes. Uh, ah need information... Ahm friends with Logan, but he can't know ahm here. Is there... uh... somewhere sound proof we can go?" So friends with Logan? Huh. It had been awhile since he had teamed up with that dog-like man. "Ah, Logan...yes...I remember him well enough." Remy spoke, just tacking in his own two cents into the equations. His hazel eyes watched out underneath the brim of his fedora as the redheaded girl ordered a drink, slipping a piece of paper to the bartender which he didn't really care to read. Chuckling a bit, he got back to her question.
"I do have a place where we can make this..eh..business transaction" He spoke, his Cajun accent showing proudly through his teeth. With this note, Remy moved passed the girl and towards the part of the bar that swung up and allowed people to go behind it and into the storage area. "Allain, Nous allons à l'arrière." He spoke up towards the bartender. All the bald headed black man did was give a sideways glance towards Remy before going back to his usual rounds of filling up everyone's drinks. Lifting the bar top open, he stepped inside and made his way to the door directly behind it. The knob gave off a crackle of rust as he turned it, and the door gave off an all too familiar creak as it was pushed open. It was at this time the girl spoke up again.
"Ahm Rogue. Ah didn't catch your name..." She said, and Remy turned his head towards her. "Dat's right, you didn't." Was all he said before moving sideways. "This way, amour" He spoke, waiting until the girl had walked inside before he stepped in behind her and closed the door. The storage space was just as dirty as the bar itself. Cobwebs hung from different corners of the ceiling as well as on several of the stacked barrels of liquor in the corners. Moving past the girl, Remy tossed his hat off behind him, not bothering to watch it land neatly on the coat rack that sat to the right of the entrance. "I wish I had better...accommodations for out little transaction." He spoke as he made his way to one of the barrels in the corner that was sitting up and proceeded to sit upon it.
"Please, grab a barrel." Remy spoke up chuckling a bit, reaching into one of the pockets of the trench coat and pulling out a single cigarette from a package. He proceeded to rub his first finger and thumb together as he stuck the cigarette between his lips with his hand that still held his scotch glass. After a moment of rubbing them, he placed his first finger to the end of the cigarette and watched as it gave off a little pop of a small explosion, no bigger than a Chinese pop-it, and lit the cigarette on fire, the end burning just as red as her hair. He didn't bother hiding his powers from this new girl. If she was a friend of Logan's, than she was either like them or knew better than to run off crying. "So..." He finally spoke after taking a soft drag. "You have come to see 'de infamous Remy LeBeau, though you can always call me Gambit, ma chérie." He grinned, his hazel eyes flashing a bright red as he took a sip of his scotch and proceeded to place a piece of his long brown hair behind his ear with his other hand.
"What brings you to New Orleans, besides m'self?" He asked, now beginning to get down to business.
[OOC: ....'s indicate Gambit's famous pauses, and 'de=the. I figured it was self explanatory, but I hear him talking in my head as I write all his speech, so just wanted to clear it up haha xD]

Rogue was glad this guy remembered Logan, it wouldn't have been good for him not to. Then again, Logan was a pretty unforgettable guy. Rogue found herself smiling fondly at that thought. She focused back on the guy infront of her as he mentioned he had a room they could talk. Rogue did not want anything she said overheard by anyone else. She found herself drawn to the guy's lips though as he spoke french to the bartender. God, thats so sexy... She found herself thinking before forcing herself to focus in on what was happening. I'm an Xmen. I'm in charge of the students. I am helping the next generation team of Xmen be prepared. I will not be a little girl who cannot handle herself. Rogue told herself as she followed the guy into what could only be described as a neglected closet. At least in Rogue's opinion. At least with its filth Rogue knew no one was about to jump anyone elses bones.
"Men..."
Rogue muttered under her breath when the guy ignored manners and refused to introduce himself. Crossing her arms over her chest she sat down on a barrel opposite the guy, glancing around to check there were no vermin around. Spiders, Rats... No animal life. Her gaze went back to the guy as he mentioned he wished he had better accomodations for their talk. Glancing at his silk shirt which she could only think was expensive - silk was not a cheap material - she found herself raising an eyebrow at him sceptically.
"We both know, sugar, by the fact you're wearing a silk shirt that ya do have better accomodations in the area, so saying the contrary is entirely pointless. Regardless, ah don't care about where it is done, as long as no one can hear us."
Rogue pointed out as she placed her hands on her lap. She tilted her head and looked at the guy in surprise as he introduced himself. His real name and his mutant name. She hadn't given anyone her real name, besides Xavier, since her power first kicked in. She had listened to others introduce themselves before, and had no problem with only giving them her mutant name. However, this time, she could not sit with not giving Remy her real name, and she had no god damn idea why.
"Anne Marie D'Ancanto."
She found herself saying before she could stop herself. As soon as she said it Rogue's gaze dropped to her lap as she fought against blushing. It felt wierd to give out her real name, and to a stranger. Logan would definately have a field day with that one.
"Ah only came here for you, on business. Nothin' else. Ahm just gonna get to the point... Ah need to know if William Stryker's project has been passed onto someone else, if he is even still alive or not, and if not, who is heading his project now? Ah haven't told anyone back home but... There are problems. First, there is this huge guy, bigger then Logan, who called himself X, that wanted to have revenge on Logan. Ah couldn't let that happen, and eventually managed to get him to do it meh way, so know he just wants to know what Logan remembers about Weapon X and rule 316. X was a little annoyed Logan killed Deathstryke, hence the revenge. Then there is this other guy... Ah know he's hidin' somethin'. He... has the same powers as me... it shouldn't be possible naturally. At least, not for him, so someone has to have done something surgically to put meh powers in him, and ah have no idea what other powers he has. Ah... ah tried stalking him, ya know to find out what he is up to, but... apparently ah can't sneak around and he caught me. Put a gun to me an' all. If thats not up to no good ah dunno what is. He said he was only at the X-mansion to spy on the Brotherhood... Ah don't trust him. He only gave me his first name, Adam."
Rogue explained, relieved to finally be able to get everything off her chest.
"Anyway, ah remembered Logan... talking about you, and how you found Stryker's lair, and helped Logan out that one time. Ah tried Magneto, but he doesn't know anythin', so ah figured you could help me find what ah need to know."
She added, finally lifting her gaze to look at Remy. She knew it was crazy to ask a stranger to help, but she couldn't ask anyone she knew to help. She had to protect them.
"And before ya ask, ah haven't told anyone at Xavier's because ah wanna protect them. Ah won't be a failure again. Besides, they don't need to know about any of this with Apocolypse already on their plates."
She did not need Remy to rant on like Pyro had about telling the other Xmen or at least Xavier. She just needed help. Rogue knew she couldn't do anything on her own. As much as she wished she could.

Remy took gentle hits off his cigarette as he watched the girl find her own barrel and take a seat. After he had mentioned the tid-bit on accommodations, she piped up saying that by the fact he was wearing a silk shirt meant he had somewhere more pleasing to go. He grinned a bit, not because she so some smarts (which he admired) but because she also called him sugar, which for some reason tickled him pink just a bit. "Ah, well 'dat's true 'nuff." He repiled, still grinning her way as he lifted the scotch glass to his lips and drained the rest of the brown liquid. As the girl spoke again, he turned his back only for a moment to sit the glass behind him.
Rogue mentioned her name, or well her full name. Anne Marie D'Ancanto. "Such a pretty name for such a...rather fiesty woman." He told her chuckling a bit as he took another hit off his cigarette. "Though 'dat's only assumption 'cause of the locks o' fire you got goin' on there darlin'." His hazel eyes watched as her head dropped down to her lap as she blushed a bit. Now he was beginning to soften her up just a bit.
The girl spoke back up, now answering the question he had laid out before hand. She ranted for a few minutes, going on about how this was only business and nothing else, which Remy couldn't help but chuckle a bit at. She continued on about Stryker, the man who had kidnapped him when he was only 18 and left him to rot in a cell for 2 whole years. She wanted to know if he was still alive or not, and if someone had taken over the old project. Remy felt the pit of his stomach start to churn. If someone did take over the project, they would come looking for all the old hostages, or whatever you wanted to call them. That would not have been good. She wrapped up the piece by telling him how Logan was being questioned by someone named X, and then there was another guy that put a gun to her face.
"Well sneakin' about isn't always as easy as it looks, chérie" He spoke up with a soft grin and a slight chuckle from that bit of the story. "As for Stryker and his gang, I haven't heard anything since I last saw Logan, and 'dat was almost seven years or so ago." He told her, wrinkling his nose a bit. " There could be a....way to find this information...that is if you name your....price." He grinned brightly and chuckled some more before taking the last hit off the cigarette and stamping it out on top of the barrel.
Rogue went on to mention something about Xavier's, which Remy wasn't familiar with. "Xavier's? Is that some kind of prep school?" He asked, rather confused by what she said. He shook that through off for a moment before answering her. "Don't worry, amour. My lips...they are sealed." He then closed his lips tightly and drew his first a thumb finger over them as if to act like he was zipping them shut.

Rogue found herself blushing again as Remy called her fiesty. Her, fiesty? It didn't seem possible. For years she had accepted she would never be touched, and therefore no longer a sexual or attractive in appearance being in the way she felt like a child with no knowledge of that side of adult nature. She couldn't even remember what it felt like to be flirted with. Was he flirting with her? When he mentioned her hair she instinctively reached up to tuck a few stray strands behind her ear. This guy definately had charm. He could probably have any woman he wanted. When Remy commented on sneaking her head shot up and a hopeful look appeared in her eyes. It sounded like he knew how to sneak around. Right then Rogue wanted him to teach her how to sneak around. it was a skill that would have come in handy a lot with everything that was going on with her. Besides that, she felt it would make her a little more capable.
"Do ya think ya could teach me how to sneak around? Ahm really really bad at it."
It was a second later she was reminded of Kovu in the Lion King teaching Kiara how to hunt. Forcing the random thought from her head she returned to the present conversation at hand. Rogue was disappointed though that Remy was even more out of date on Stryker's happenings then she was. She and Logan, as well as some others, had seen Stryker years later then Remy and Logan had. When he mentioned there was a way to find out though hope shot through her. That is until he mentioned a price. She hadn't even thought about that. She didn't have any money on her right now, and even if she could touch she was definately not the kind of women who slept around or for a price either. She was pretty much stumped. How was she supposed to pay him? She needed the information. She had to get it. She didn't have any other option but to get the information she craved.
"Ah... Ah don't have any money on me... Not enough to pay ya anyway. Um... what would ya... want?"
For some reason she got a nagging feeling she shouldn't have asked what Remy would want in exchange. It was only then that she noticed Remy was smoking. She frowned at the cigarette, and without thinking she got up, took the cigarette and put it out.
"They'll kill ya."
She stated before sitting back down. Rogue had to live her life knowing one touch from her would kill people. She hated it when she saw other people killing themselves for only a cigarette or alcohol binge. It was ridiculous. It took her a few seconds later to realise she had done something rude, even if it was for his benefit.
"Uh, sorry."
Moments later Rogue found herself laughing a little as Remy asked if Xavier's was a prep school. She hadn't laughed in a while, and although it felt foreign it also felt good too.
"Xavier's is a school for mutants, so they can learn to control their powers and also provide a safe place for them. Anyone is welcome there. Ah actually teach there... Ahm in charge of the students. Got the promotion recently. Its nice... finally having some purpose in meh life."
She stated, not even realising she was being completely open with Remy. Well, besides not telling him her power. As much as she hated omitting the truth - especially when it came to her power since it could be dangerous in situations like these - it did feel nice for once to have someone act normally around her. No tensing up, no keeping their distance, no anxiety, no one on high alert as they touched her, or checking she was entirely covered. It was relaxing. Rogue found her gaze drawn to his lips briefly as he made a gesture to show his lips were sealed. Her gaze shot back up to his eyes, trying to keep it all professional. After all, who would want an untouchable woman anyway?
"Good. Thank ya. Ah appreciate it, Remy."
Rogue hadn't realised that was the first time she had said his name. She rather liked the sound of it. It was a unique exotic name. Definately better then common names out there like David. Remembering Remy's mutant name she tilted her head at him in slight confusion.
"Why do ya call yourself Gambit?"
She was definately curious as to why he did call himself Gambit. She called herself Rogue because really, what else would an untouchable woman be other then a rogue?

Remy drew up his right leg to gently cross over his left as the girl's head shot up at the interest of sneaking about. He grinned slightly. Sneaking about wasn't always the easiest thing in the world, but it was all a thief was good at besides picking someones pockets. His eyes went down to her jacket pockets for a moment and he began to wonder what she might have in them. No. He couldn't do that, he couldn't treat her like another target in the streets. She was a friend of Logan's, whom he last remembered went a little rabid and got a short temper due to that gunshot to his head.
Rogue spoke up, asking him if he would ever teach her how to find her way about in stealth terms. Gambit chuckled a bit. "Well, I do think I can work that in my schedule...some how." He replied, acting like he was really thinking about it, though he wasn't at all. His plate was empty at the moment. Just because he ran a sanction of the Thieves Guild didn't mean they were any good. He was about the only bloke that could pull anything off, and if he was with another one of the fools, it always seemed they were caught or someone was killed.
The girl spoke again, replying that she didn't have any money to pay. "Oh, dat's a shame sweetie." He spoke up, shaking his head a bit before putting on a sly grin. "I guess I can do it...oh what's the fancier term....pro-bono? Yes, 'dat's it." He chuckled a bit. He really never had any intention of making this girl pay anything, he just wanted to rattle her cage a bit and see just how feisty she could really get. It was about this time that she jumped up from her seat and plucked the cigarette from his lips, putting it out on the storage room floor. "Wha- 'de?" He spoke as she pulled back and sat down. "They'll kill 'ya" She spoke and he chuckled a bit, another grin coming across his face.
"Already looking out for meh health, are we dear?" Remy spoke up, trying to cut a little joke. Rogue apologized and he threw up a hand to dismiss her. "'Dat's fine, I was gonna give 'em up anyways." He told her, and then watched as she began laughing when he asked what Xavier's was. She told him it was a school for mutants, where they learn to do things with their gifts and she taught there. "You look a little young to be teaching, chérie." He piped up. She also looked a little young to be drinking as well, but that didn't matter at the moment. The school sounded interesting, though he was a bit too old to be going back at this rate. Maybe they did advanced level stuff. Remy was always a stickler for pushing his limits. "It sounds....interesting. I just might have to check it out."
"Good. Thank ya. Ah appreciate it, Remy." She spoke up and he shook his head a bit. "Darlin', you call me Gambit." He told her with a little wink. She then proceeded to ask why he went by Gambit. 'Cause life's a gamble that ain't always worth winnin'" He replied, chuckling a bit. "Mainly it's 'cause I play a lot of cards. Why do you call y'self Rogue?"

"Really? Thats amazing! Thank ya!"
Rogue exclaimed excitedly. She couldn't help but be thoroughly excited at the prospect of being taught how to sneak around. It would be one more skill to add to her life. One more skill to help her be more then a failure. It would be such a good skill to have. She could see it becoming really useful in the future. She really wanted to throw her arms around Remy in thanks, but she knew that wouldn't be a good idea. She didn't want another person to be on her unfortunate 'victim' list. Instead she sat where she was, with a happy smile upon her pretty face as she looked at him with a bright happy look in her eyes. She couldn't wait to start learning. Rogue was always an eager student. Without a useful power Rogue found herself relying on fighting skill alone in most fights. She hated feeling like she was the weak spot in the team, and so was definately grateful when Logan taught her how to fight a few years ago. They still kept up their lessons when she wasn't doing danger room simulations on her own.
"Thank ya Remy. It means a lot to meh that you'd do this for free for me."
Rogue responded genuinely. She was definately relieved he would help her not only get information but do it for free. Remy seemed like such a good guy. She was sure Logan would be happy to see Remy again. A part of her though wasn't sure about having Remy come back to Westchester with her. There was no doubt he was infinitely attractive. Most if not all of the female population at the school would be interested in him. Rogue hesitated at that thought. Even if I am attracted to him, I can't have him. I'm untouchable. I have to remember that. I have to focus on finding the information. She told herself firmly. It was all too easy for Remy and who he was distracting her. She found herself relieved that he wasn't upset she had put out his cigarette. She did hope he quit. He deserved to have a long life, and not one cut short with terrible painful illnesses all because of a bad habit. Not that a death by touching her was any nicer, of course.
"Good. Ya should quit. Seriously. A death by that is not pretty."
She told him firmly, her eyes filled with the hidden passion she kept locked away. Rogue saw no point in letting out her passion and who she used to be. With her ability her life was very stunted, at least that was her opinion, so what was the point in being passionate and outgoing? It was just easier to keep to herself, and moderate herself so she never ended up hurting people. It was better off this way anyway. She didn't want to give any guys thoughts of being with her only for them to find out one touch could kill. It wouldn't be fair to them, and it would hurt her a lot when they left after finding out. When Remy mentioned she looked a little young though she glared at him, huffing as she folded her arms over her chest. If looks could kill then Remy would have been dead by now. How dare he call her young! She was not a kid god damn it. She was even starting to not like Logan calling her kid - but that had more to do with him having a biological daughter who she felt was replacing her then her own appearance.
"Ahm not a kid god damn it!"
She snapped. Rogue forced herself to close her eyes and take several deep breaths to calm herself. Eventually she managed to relax and dropped her hands ot her lap once more. It didn't help that moments later he asked her to call him Gambit. Rogue frowned at him, doing her best to try to not loose it again. Why didn't he want her to call him Remy? Was she not special enough? It shouldn't matter! Rogue snapped at herself mentally, and decided not to comment on him telling her to call him Gambit. Besides, she had already started calling him Remy and she wasn't going to stop it now. His explanation was intriguing. She became very silent though when he asked her why she called herself Rogue. Her expression looked of someone who was trying really hard not to look sad. Rogue decided she may as well tell him now. It wasn't as if she could answer the question without the truth. Sighing deeply she glanced at her feet as she spoke.
"Because all ah can never be is a rogue. A lone soul. Meh mutation... Its in meh skin. One touch... A single touch and ah get that person's memories, drain their energy, and have my own little replica of them in meh head, and if they are a mutant, their powers too. Ah already have Logan up there, Magneto, Pyro and Iceman so far. Logan was twice. I have more of Magneto though. He held on a long while against meh will... Thats why ahm called the Rogue. You're the first ah given meh real name to, besides Xavier, of course. Can't hide anythin' from a telepath."

"Really? Thats amazing! Thank ya!" The girl spoke up, causing another small grin to appear of his face. He always liked being some what of a help to someone, even if it was teaching them one of his many trades. It made him feel like he was at least doing something good to combat all the negative things he had done in the world. Rogue seemed very excited by the fact that he was going to do this for her. "Now darlin', don't be too enthused. It's not easy work...if 'ya know what I mean." He spoke, chuckling just a bit. Sneaking wasn't easy work, especially if you weren't light on your feet, which he had a feeling the girl wasn't. That meant starting off fresh like he had once done many years ago.
The redhead thanked him for doing the work for free, and he chuckled a bit. "My pleasure, chérie. Any friend of Logan's is a friend of mine." He replied, tipping his head forward in a gentleman like manner, causing his brown locks to fall over his eyes which he proceeded to push back like a set of curtains behind each ear. It wasn't like it mattered or anything, money wasn't in issue for Remy. If he was running low he would send someone to pick pocket one of the local pimps, or businessmen. Well scratch that, he'd have to do it himself really.
Remy sat there as the girl told him that he really should quit. It was a nasty habit, smoking, and he knew that dying from it would not be the best thing. Still, he had done it half his life already, and he wasn't getting any younger. He didn't bother to reply, just gave a little light nod to push that subject to an end. It was about that time she snapped at him, stating that she wasn't a kid. Gambit blinked slowly, the rush of confusion leaving his eyes glowing a bright red. "Well, I n'ver said you was a kid, darlin'. You just looked young for yer age. For all I know you could really be Forty and have the body of a twenty year old." He chuckled a bit towards the end, trying to picture that image. He had to admit, the girl was attractive not just look wise, but also by her personality, which was something he favored. Girls that were mindless were easy to charm, but it was the smart one's that knew what he could do that he chased after the most. He even went as far as almost marrying one girl, but a mistake with her brother happened and...well that story is for another day.
After Remy had asked the girl why she went by Rogue, the girl grew very silent and had a sad look spread across her face. It took her a moment, but she finally piped up stating that she was a mutant whose power was absorbing other's, leaving her unable to touch a single soul without hurting them. She went on to say he was the first, besides this telepath she spoke of, to give her real name to. "Well, I am honored." He said with a chuckle. "And you would be surprised at how well one might be able to hide things from a telepath." He added, smiling a bit. So no touch. His mind pondered on that for a moment, but he dismissed it quickly. No touch made things more...interesting in his world. Even if it didn't, he still wouldn't have judged. Besides, his own mother abandoned him because his eyes were red when he was born.
"So...no touch eh?" He finally spoke up. "Well, touch isn't always a good thing to have. Trust meh, darlin'" He added, giving her a little wink.

Rogue raised an eyebrow and tilted her head as Remy mentioned for her to not get too enthused about learning to sneak around. She knew she was probably terrible doing it the last two times, but she had learned to fight with Logan. No one could say Logan took you on easy. He had solid metal claws and a healing ability for god's sake, and she had felt both. She had felt the metal claws slice through her chest and out of her back when she had simply tried to wake Logan up from a nightmare. Logan was a formidable and terrifying fighter, yet Rogue had managed so far to hold her own. Well, she had managed to at least not let his claws touch her again. She did not fancy being a kebab again. She knew she wasn't much to look at, but she really did want to learn how to sneak around. She wanted to be the best fighter she could be so at least no one had to be tasked with looking after her. That was humilating.
"Ah've trained to fight with Logan as meh teacher and sparring partner. If ah can survive that, then ah can survive anythin' "
Rogue insisted. She had been so angry about Remy implying she was a kid, well in her opinion he had. Her anger halted though when she saw his eyes glow red. Red. She looked at his eyes in awe. They were so beautiful. She had never seen anything like it. Without even thinking Rogue stood up and walked over to him. She grabbed his fedora, taking it off his head so she could see his eyes better.
"Your eyes... they're beautiful..."
She murmurred. Red eyes. Who would have thought anyone could have red eyes? Red was definately her favourite colour. Was it some kind of sign? She knew she couldn't think like that. She refused to be selfish again, even with an adonis like Remy. To be with anyone would be making them to go without touch, and it was bad enough she was forced into such a life. She would not let anyone else be pulled into it. Regardless of the fact her heart hadn't beated so fast in a while, and it was now in Remy's company. Realising she was just staring she blushed and moved back to her barrel, sitting down with Remy's fedora still in her hands. She held it in her lap, her fingertips brushing against the material absentmindedly as she glanced from her lap up to Remy's face. The red eyes had to be a part of his mutation. Curious about Remy's next words Rogue looked up at Remy with a curious expression.
"How do you hide things from a telepath?"
Rogue frowned when Remy mentioned touch wasn't always a good thing to have. She stood up once more, putting Remy's fedora on top of her barrel before walking over. No one ever understood what she had to go through with her mutation. She reached over to grab his wrist to turn his hand over. With her other hand she brushed her gloved fingertips over his palm.
"Never being able to have a simple handshake..."
She murmurred, before trailing the same fingertips up his arm.
"Never having a single hug..."
Rogue lifted her gaze to brush a fingertip over his lips.
"Not a single kiss..."
She sighed deeply, shaking her head as she backed away.
"Ya don't know what its like to not be able to touch. Its been years. Years. Since my mutation kicked in, and since then ah have never been able to touch. Ya know the kicker? It came out during meh first kiss. That guy is still in a coma. Logan? Ah tried to wake him from a nightmare, he plunged his claws through my stomach and out of my back when he woke. Ah had to touch him to live. He went into a coma too, although fortunately only a few days. Magneto... When he held on he pretty much almost died. Pyro... Collapsed, and that was just a second. Ah have to be covered up every second of every god forsaken day. Ah have to live watching others flinch from me, hesitate around me, checking ah am covered, before they even contemplate coming near me. Ah bet you haven't gone without touch for even a single day, so don't say its not a good thing to have. When normal people get upset they get someone to hold them. Ah don't. When normal people greet each other they give hugs and handshakes. Ah don't. When a girl likes a guy, they kiss. Ah don't. Not without deadly consequences for who ah touch."
Rogue spoke firmly as tears rolled down her cheeks. Turning away so her back was to Remy she inhaled deeply as she wiped the tears away. She hated crying, and she hated feeling so alone. Running a shaking hand through her hair she sighed.
"Ah have their psyches constantly in meh head, talking away. Ah hear them. Ah've had conversations with them sometimes when ah feel too alone. Sometimes ah wonder if one day when ah absorb too many, that they'll take over and there won't be any of me left."

Rogue went quiet for a moment and raised an eyebrow as he mentioned his training was going to be tough. Just because he found her attractive didn't mean he was going to make it easier on her. Oh no. He had to make it difficult, not out of spite or anything, but because the hard way was the only way to learn. She explained that she had trained under Logan, saying of she was able to survive that, then she could survive what he threw at her. "Alright, darlin'." Remy simply said with a chuckle before moving onto the next topic.
The girl quickly stood as soon as he felt his eyes go red. For a moment, his heart dropped, fearing that she was going to run out the door just like half the people in his life had once done, but no. She approached him, taking off his fedora and smiling gently at him. "Your eyes... they're beautiful..." She told him in a half whisper, making him feel a tad bit better. "Thanks, amour." He replied with a smile of his own. It had been years since anyone had actually not run away when his eyes went to their natural state. He had learned to force them back, giving a hazel color over them, but it only lasted so long, and never stayed when he was using his powers.
Rogue moved back to her barrel, her face lighting up a bright red that almost matched the color of her hair. Remy chuckle slightly at this sight and grinned slightly. She asked him how did one hide things from a telepath, and he reached into his pocket and pulled out a deck of cards. "Well it's...a...kinda' like a poker game." He told her as he began shuffling the pack in his lap. The cards gave sharp little clicks as the folded and unfolded on top of one another. "Say you gots a good hand 'dat you don' want an'one else to know about." He spoke up again, now taking the cards and shuffling them a bit differently, taking them and pulling them apart like an accordian, making them fallback down into his other hand. "One might say you had to...put on a poker face to make sure no one sees what you got." He chuckled a bit as he kept shuffling. "Same principle applies to a telepath. If you can learn to keep a...mental poker face, they have a hard time getting in, darlin'."
Rogue got up again and moved towards him after he told her touch wasn't always a good thing. Watching her with red eyes, he stopped shuffling his cards and placed them to his side as she came nearer. She turned his wrist over with her gloved hand and ran her finger tips over his palm, making his spine tingle just a bit as she told him she could never shake hands. She then ran her fingertips up his arm, causing that tingle to grow a bit more as she explained she could never hug. Then, she moved her fingertips over his lips and it took every ounce of being in him not to just grab her up then as she explained she could never kiss.
Rogue took a step back and explained everything that had happened to her, from her run into Logan's claws to Magneto's grasp. She laid it all out there for Remy to know. When she was done, tears were in her eyes and she turned around as if not to face him. Remy stood up and took a step forward as she spoke, telling him about all the different people in her head. He walked up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "We are all a bit crazy, chérie." He whispered into her ear, trying to calm her down a bit. "I know what's its like for people to run away from you. My eyes. They were what made my parents run away. I was abandoned in a hospital before I was found again. People to dis day still run from meh when they see my eyes like this. So I know what it's like to be alone." He rubbed her shoulders gently and wrinkled his nose.

Rogue watched in awe as Remy shuffled the cards noticing how seemed like an expert moving with them. It was almost like the cards were a part of his body. Like an extension of it. She listened as he talked, mesmorised by both his words and actions. How was she supposed to not be? It was like magic, and Rogue had always been fond of magic. She blinked a little when it was over, forcing herself to gather her thoughts and senses. She could see how easily Remy could overwhelm her and put her under his spell. It was then Rogue realised something - it could be entirely possible that if Remy continued to be the man she was with now that she could be so under his spell that it would hurt her more then anything else in the world if or when that spell was broken. She had to focus. She could not let herself loose her senses. She had to get the information she required, and the training Remy had offered.
"Thats amazing."
Rogue breathed. Of course this was all before she told Remy everything about her power and gotten herself upset. She couldn't help but wonder what it was about Remy that made her confess all. Then again he was pretty much a stranger. One that probably wouldn't end up at Xavier's. She could tell him anything and no one else would know. It did feel good to let it all out though. Especially since so far Remy had not judged her at all. It was nice. Not being judged. What surprised her even more was when Remy touched her - on her shoulders all be it - without any hesitation. Was he not scared? Most people would be scared of touching her incase they accidentally got a bit of skin. Yet, it seemed Remy was not. He was either incredibly brave, incredibly stupid, or incredibly... something else. She sniffed, tears running down her satin cheeks as she listened to Remy talk once more. This time about his past.
"Ahm sorry..."
Rogue began softly, turning around in his arms to look up at him - she had to tilt her head back to do so. He was a lot taller then her.
"Its their loss Remy. Ah think your eyes are breathtaking... Maybe the best part of you. Ah guess, you do understand. Ah've never found anyone that really understands before... Not totally, but mostly. Its nice... to not see any fear in someone when they touch meh. Everyone shows fear, regardless of how well they cover it up, and even when ah am covered up it is still there. Ya aren't showing any."
Rogue responded quietly. She wanted so badly to kiss Remy right then and there. She had never felt anything quite like it. She closed her eyes and whimpered a little as she pressed her face against his clothed chest. One day, hopefully, there would be a way to touch through skin to skin contact. Until then she would always feel fustrated. She found Remy's scent flowing into her nostrils. She liked it. It smelt rich... slightly exotic, and maybe a little spicey. It smelt of the south. It smelt like home. Rogue hadn't realised how much she missed home until right then. It was nice to have something that reminded her of the south. Maybe she should stay in New Orleans for longer then just the weekend. It would be nice to have a holiday. She had never had one before, and she was sure that Xavier wouldn't begrudge her a holiday. Briefly, Rogue thought of her students and felt a little guilty. Could she really just abandon them?
Pulling her head back a little she then glanced up at Remy again. She found herself having a lot of questions, and honestly, she couldn't ask them to anyone else. Well, anyone that she wouldn't feel entirely mortified with anyway.
"Um... Remy... What is like to be kissed?"
She asked softly. Rogue had always wondered what a kiss felt like without her power ruining it. She could never actually get a feeling, since the few times she had kissed her ability was sucking the recipiant dry. Rogue had always considered those sheer scarfs could be placed between the lips of her and recipiant, but she had never voiced the suggestion out loud. Rogue had never really been sure why, but a part of her thought that maybe it was because she hadn't found the right guy to feel comfortable with doing such a thing. After all, everything always started with kissing, as her father said, and most of the time ended up with a lot of other things.

"That's amazing"
The redhead spoke, her eyes glued to the cards that lay in his hands. Remy chuckled a bit as he kept on shuffling for those few last moments before she had come to explain some more about her gift. The cards bounced back and forth between the palms of his hand, giving soft fluid motions like the waves of an incoming tide. Cards. They were his passion since he was very little. He had always been able to move them and manipulate them just the way he wanted, something that he couldn't do with people until he was older.
Now though he was standing behind the girl, his hands placed lightly on her shoulders as he poured out his own deep confessions to her. It was true, he was abandoned when he was first born, though it wasn't his fault. He had no control of that part of his ability and it made people think he was the spawn of el diablo or some other demon from hell. He grew up most of his life on the streets until he happened to pick pocket Jean-Luc LeBeau and then he grew up living the life of a thief and mastering his abilities. Rogue apologized for his life and Gambit chuckled slightly. "No worries, love." He told her, knowing that it was neither of their faults. Life was just cruel from time to time.
She turned around and scooted a bit closer to him, his hands were still planted on her shoulders, but for some reason he felt like he wanted to just slide them down and wrap around her as she spoke. She reassured him on his eyes, stating that the world was at loss for what horror they saw in them and that she was glad she found someone who could relate to her on the loneliness side of the spectrum. "Well, life's too short to live in fear, chérie." He replied with a chuckle. "Besides, even if you did kill meh. I think it would be worth it." Remy chuckled a bit more and gave her a sly wink before she asked another question.
"Um... Remy... What is like to be kissed?"
Remy almost winced at the topic. That was territory they would never be able to share, and with that he let go of her and went and sat back down. "Well darlin', it's...kinda hard to explain..." He told her. "Like, you see 'dat in the movies, y'know the whole kissin' thing. But in real life, it's...different." He wrinkled his nose not knowing really how to explain it. "It's just...It's like..." He sighed now. "I want to explains it, chérie. But, 'de think is...it's hard to...you have to experience it y'self."

Rogue couldn't help but feel her heart clench at Remy's response to her question. Try it yourself. Now why did that remind her of Ariel from the Little Mermaid? Oh right, Ariel had always wanted to live in the sun, to experience life with the humans, so she sold her soul and voice to a sea witch to do so for just three days. Unfortunately no amount of magic - even if exsisted - was going to help Rogue. She forced herself to stop crying, and to not go over to Remy again. He had walked away from her, like everyone else always does. This time though, when Remy had walked away, she felt a lot more alone and cold then she had when anyone else walked away from her. It couldn't be out of fear he had walked away in this moment. Rogue guessed it was pity. She supposed it was a stupid question. She sat back down silently, keeping her gaze on the floor as she fought to get composure back. She had at least wanted to stop crying.
"Do ya have a tissue?"
Rogue asked as she tried wiping tears away with the palms of her hands - covered in gloves. It was then she wished she had her duffle bag here. She should have brought it with her. She had tissues in there just incase. That along with clothes, and fresh gloves. It was during that thought she remembered her scarf idea. She couldn't help but wonder if it would work. After all, men wore condoms so they could still experience sex - skin to skin contact - but also to stop themselves from impregnating the female they were touching. If she could find some kind of thin material that could do a similiar job, to allow her to feel flesh upon flesh, but with a barrier to stop her ability from working, then maybe she could at least feel what a kiss is like. She had thought of this idea before but no guy had been the right one to try it with. Rogue believed Remy was the right guy to try it with. Sniffing she glanced up at him and tilted her head, a slight shy expression upon her face.
"Remy... do ya think uh... someone could uh, kiss meh if ah... have some kind of thin scarf over... uh... meh mouth?"
Rogue ended up blushing and quickly diverted her gaze back down to her feet. He probably has a girlfriend, or engaged, or a wife. You shouldn't be flirting with him! You shouldn't be thinking of him either. He's way out of your league. You're below him. Rogue chastised herself mentally. She had to stop doing this. She always got her hopes up and then ended up disappointed. Besides she didn't want to lead anyone on. Sighing deeply she forced herself to get back onto one of their previous topics. She had to get information, and of course learn to sneak around. Personal talk was not something she was supposed to have let this lead to. Getting her head back onto the previous conversation she glanced up at Remy hoping to not show any more of her weaknesses. Especially her fragile heart.
"So... when do ya think ya can teach me how to sneak around?"
